Arena.net, if you absolutely have to design your games to cause players to crash every single time (managed perhaps 1 clawmag event without a crash since feb 26th, in spite the other events working, including the other dragons), can you at the very least design the game so that it does NOT boot you to overflow if you log back in instantly?! Other mmo’s do not log you out instantly when you crash, so you can come back if you do it right away as it keeps you in the world for 30-60 secs, so why are Gw2 players punished for Anet not coding their game to handle their players? By comparison, other mmo’s have been able to handle up to houndreds of players easily without as much instability and crashed. Heck, in wow it took pretty much the entire server assembled in a single spot in order to cause drop in framerates and crashed, even with settings maxed. So how can it be that this game cannot handle 20-30 dudes on screen regardless of graphical settings?
At least allow us to get back in before YOUR programming prevents people from claiming rewards from events they spent their time waiting for and fighting for. Spending a lot of time on something, just to have it consistently slap you in the face and deny you the reward for that work is the antithesis of fun, and that is coming from someone who can accept that this is one of the grindiest mmo’s out there.
On Tarnished Coast there was never a problem with overflow until all the guesting started. I don’t always just do dragons. I check to see what dragons are going to pop then decide what to do, if one is soon like in the next 20-30 minutes I might switch to a level 80 and go do that. But lately if you want to do Claw you need to camp for about an hour and a half. Which is boring to all. Then when it finally starts you got about a 20% chance of getting disconnected and sent to overflow when you get back. I waited in overflow last night for about an hour and 15 minutes only to have everyone leave before event started and even I gave up as waiting for an event you don’t know will happen is pretty bad.
Perhaps if you are guesting so you can play with your friends you might want to change to their server!.
Maybe guesters should not get priority over the players who live on that server. So if someone who lives on the server wants into an area it would actually bump the guest to overflow instead of the homey.
People said a lot of the overflow to TC was people on WvW servers with rotten PvE. Well, I cannot go to their worlds and WvW so why can they camp my PvE. I picked this server for a reason it was the unoffical PvE and roleplaying server. We pretty much get eaten on WvW and I’m willing to live with that. It’s harder to Map WvW and I’m willing to live with that. I feel bad while mapping WvW that I take a place that someone who wants to play could have but I try to go at open times and if there are battles I can find I always fight. I suck, but I make good cannon fodder.
This is not my first rodeo. I’ve done GW and WoW and Rift too. Most of these problems are nothing new and within each game you have factions that each have their own priority. Mine are PvE open world, leveling, quests, crafting, even a bit of WvW is OK some of the time and more and more you can’t have enough dynamic events the bigger the better. You can keep your pugged dungeons and fractals and PvP events. I want to play with people out in the open as I go not make appointments and sit around trying to find a group.
I just want one thing, give me an option to accept or not that I’m going to Overflow. I know the tech is in the game to do it, you do it for WvW whekittenone is full. You’re taking peoples coin who are expecting to participate in an event.
The most frustrating part is WvW. I suggest checking every map quickly each day to see if something you need is open to you.
I’m voting for Wynnet Fairhaired for sake of dem eyes: (Not the Asura)

You mean like how sometimes when you back up into a wall the camera starts jerking back and forth?
I hate when that happens :\
Still waiting for the day I get to take screens posing next to a GM. Since they’re the GW2 equivalent of celebrities, effectively.
So what’s the problem here? This event is still bugged. It’s one of the most popular events in the game. It’s been bugged for almost 3 days now. No dev response. No nothing. We’ve put tickets in. We’ve emailed. What’s the problem with even giving a status update or a response?
I’m sick of this. I’m sick of the number of bugs that get ignored. You concentrate on your “end-all-be-all” guesting feature, but nothing on the bugs.
So to the devs, what are you doing about this? Is it in the list of priorities to get fixed? Or should we all just transfer to another server where this event works because you won’t be working on it anytime soon? Which is it? And don’t give me this crap that its working on your test server but not on live. Yeah, no kidding. Evaluate it on the live servers, then get back to us. Working on your test server is meaningless, because we don’t play on test.
So the bottom line is, let us know what you are doing about this bug. If you won’t be getting to it anytime soon, just let us know. We will transfer to another server where it works. That’s all I’m asking. A little communication goes a long way.
If you’re waiting for supply camps (no walls around them) and you don’t want to switch servers you could get a group and sneak/run to the POI when it is off-peak for you’re server. If not and you don’t want to wait, switch to the server that owns that tower/keep. Just be prepared to be stuck for a while if you change!
Took me like 3 weeks to get access to the last PoI in WvW for 100%. But I was patient, no big deal.
You can use http://mos.millenium.org/matchups this has the current ranking (including which color) the server currently has. It also lists the current income, if you choose a server with a high income it is very likely the hold at least there own areas and some of their opponents. approx 230 usually means majority of their own borderland + own EB sections. 400+usually means stone mist, complete own border land and EB section + some misc other areas.
Switch to the ones yourepaired withthen who ownthe camps you need. Get creative.
