I pretty much second what OP is saying. I mean, we maybe don’t need to know all those details such as collections or legendaries (at least I wouldn’t), but I think we should get to know how many maps, what are the specializations (maybe not every trait, but at least an overview), estimate on new non-gem-store skins would be nice. The I believe the real question people want to have answered is, “How long can I play this before I get bored?” It’s a tough question to answer since that is different for each person, but answers to these other questions help people evaluate this for themselves.
For example, if there were 5 new dungeons (I know there aren’t any), 4 new zones, cool specializations, and I wanted 2 of the new legendaries plus some other skins coming out, then I would say it would take ~6 months for me to get bored.
BUT, if you give me no new dungeons, maybe only 1 multi-layered map, tell me nothing about my main class’s specialization (warrior), and I have no idea what goals I’ll be working toward other than some lore/glider stuff(which, I’ll grant you, sounds cool), then I’m just not intrigued enough. That’s why I haven’t pre-ordered yet.
Or maybe I woulda just been impatient anyway… hard to say, I am dumb like that sometimes when it comes to being wise with money. Still though, it’s annoying. Again, good this it was cheap when I got it for him.
I would like to add that I bought an account for my brother. Good thing I got it when it was on sale! Had I known that the expansion would include the base game and cost $50 I never would have gotten it for him. I woulda just waited and got HoT for him. Goodness, this is dumb.

I do plan on getting heart of thorns so long as the size of the expansion ends up justifying its price. So don’t assume this is a “TOO EXPENSIVE” thread; it’s not. I just wanted to let Anet know that even with the email, I don’t want to pre-purchase until I am shown the exact size of the expansion (in terms of zones, zone sizes, things for me to do, in essence if the expansion will offer as much content as the original or close to it since it costs the same) and until I know when it comes out. Please release these details soon, and I will show my support for the game with my wallet should the details reveal the game to be what I would expect.
I would be a human thief and wait for key runners to finish their runs and then steal keys… I’d be the richest thief of all time!!!
Sooo yeah, this was talking about the camera. Not the game.

i tried is a terrible name. I hate it.
They haven’t come out and said that I know of, but I’m pretty darn sure each legend has more than 3 utils. First, there are only gonna be 4 legends given that each trait line seems to correspond to a legend and that they said the 5th was going to be about transitions. With only 3 utils per legend that would leave you with only 12, so there’s no way they’ll do that. I would personally expect about 6 per legend. Maybe like 7 or 8. But that’s just my guess.
However, I’m almost sure there’s more than 3 as well because, in POI, out of combat the little arrows popped up to allow you to swap utils. That means there’s more than three because otherwise they’d just assign em and leave em like they do with weapons.
I would also hope for like 2 heals and 2-3 elites per legend but maybe not. I could be guessing on the low side since I think all profs are gonna get more skills even if only through specialization.
For now, I’m going with the popular theory that Ventari’s Tablet and the Dream are all that really protect Sylvari from Mordremoth’s influence. Clearly, that’s not all that is happening since pre-Mordy’s awakening we had that foreign sylvari clearly not acting under the influence of Mordremoth… at least not yet. So, exactly how Sylvari can be sort of “saved” from Mordy’s influence may not be totally clear, but for me it brings up the following question:
Are there ways that other dragon minions can be saved? I would imagine that, once corrupted, the answer is no. But what about pre-corruption? In the case of the Risen, Svanir, and Branded that obviously wouldn’t work since their minions seem to pretty much just originate in living (or dead) creatures which get turned corrupted. Obviously, we save them by not letting them get corrupted in the first place, right?
I suppose the real question I have for you all has to do with Destroyers (and maybe Bubbles’ minions, but that is purely speculation I’d imagine). Do Destroyers get made by some process not necessarily under immediate control of Primordus? Is there some “Destroyer Forge” that could theoretically be captured and turned good in the same way that Ventari’s Tablet seems to have turned the Pale Tree good? Is there anyway to free Destroyers and/or corrupted Sylvari and Mordrem from the influence of their respective dragons? Perhaps that would mean a way to undo corruption from other dragons? What do you guys think?
P.S. I’m sorry if this is the wrong forum, but since this was inspired in the expansion announcement I figured this was as good a place as any.
We don’t care if the details aren’t ready. Make them ready! The hype train is real, and my money just started burning a hole in my pocket!
I don’t think this is what will happen, but it would be awesome if Rytlock brought a ton of ghosts back with him from the mists and used them Aragorn style to beat up Bubbles. Why Bubbles? Because we need to introduce more new dragons all the times always. Then it backfires (kinda) and Bubbles eats all the ghosts, giving her (yes, bubbles is a girl) enough power to attack the coasts of Tyria aka just Lion’s Arch because it’s special. The good news is, no more ghosties.
RYTLOCK IS STILL MISSING! I don’t know why I care 9x more about some lost kitty and his quest to destroy the ghosts than the fate of the world and dragons…. but I do!
Well it’s not human pov, it’s just not a Sylvari pov. So yeah, it was kind of annoying. But I THINK they were trying to imply that the Pale Tree is super busy so in spite of your reputation you still need to basically request an audience. They just didn’t convey it that well and it made Kasmeer look like an imbecile considering as the Sylvari who defeated Zhaitan we are sort of one of her most important children -_-
I love this haha
Yeah, she’s probably busy… Y’know, being a tree and all… Lots of places to go and stuff…
