For the past 2 weeks I’ve been experiencing a lots (several times a day) of crashes. I don’t have any specific patterns though I have noticed :
- If I’m tabbed out for more than 1-2 min and try to tab back in : the game take foreground but wont answer and nothing shows up (I ear the in game sound but still see the desktop, clicking does nothing). I have to open the taskmanager and kill GW2.
- When the Octovine dies in Auric Basin it’s like 33% chance the game crashes with a crash report to send to Anet
- Random crash while doing meta events in Maguma with crashs reports to send to Anet.
I’ve tried both 32 and 64bit client, I’ve tried to change a lot of visual settings (quality, resolution, fullscreen/windowed, etc.), I’ve tried to repair both cclient (32/64) and both time the repair tool stops responding at some point during the progression and I have to stop it using task manager. I’ve tried to reinstall Guild Wars with the same result.
Has anyone encountered the same kind of issue and resolved it ?
Using W10 64bit, Nvidia 760GTX with up to date drivers (I don’t have issue with any other games).
Thanks a lot for any help

Thanks for the answer. I assumed gifting was not an issue but well, better safe than sorry
I plan on buying The Flameseeker Prophecies on the Trading post and gifting it (via in game mail) to my wife but I don’t know if that is against ToS. I know GW2 is very strict regarding items buying and selling outside the trading post (with real money) so I don’t want to get any of us in trouble by doing so (The transaction might look sucpicious on her end since she would only be recieving the shield).
Is it possible ? Thanks a lot for your answers !
I don’t know why but since today’s update my FPS hard cap at 20 when I could run everything smoothly at 60fps before. Has anyone else experienced/fixed this issue ?
This is so frustrating. You alt tab, 50% the game crash and no reports. YOu kill a boss, 50% the game crash. I have several time freeze/spike when changing zone (like jumping in the pit in the middle of Tarir to reach the lower part of the city) and bam the game crash.
The image freeze, sound keeps playing, you cant go back to descktop, you cant do anyhthing actually, gw stay in the foreground, I can’t even use task manager. Forced to shut down session and reconnect everytime.
I’ve always thought that allowing to notice when a commander is speaking would be a good addition even before ANet released HoT and the Mentorship. I hope we can get something working like Mentorship soon aswell as an option to reduce chat and map noice.
I agree with you Chuo, an option to filter out all tag from the map/chat should also be available. I remember as a new player seeing commander tag on the map and not knowing what it meant or what to do.
However, as I stated, for large world event, if you want to ease the coordination/communication accross the map, players should be able to tell from the chat if a commander/mentor is speaking. Given that they want to participate in such events.
Yes the color is actually a very good idea, it would help a lot more when groups are separated like for triple trouble.
I’ve noticed with the recent addition of Mentors that a Mentor who speak in the chat will have the tag [Mentor] [Name] : text.
I have been farming World Bosses quite often and one thing I’ve noticed is that when it come to coordination, commander have been almost mandatory (e.g. fighting Teqatl is way more easy hen you have several commanders coordinating the different zones). However when they give orders (either /s or /m), there is no visual indication in the chat that this order come from a commander or not and that would make things way more easy.
Would it be possible to prefix the name of the commander with [Commander] [Name] : text aswell ?
Or is it already an option that I missed ?
Thanks

@Inculpatus cedo She didn’t have this information at the moment she made the thread and didn’t think I contacted the CS team before doing so. I think it’s safe to assume that this case is closed.
I am the boyfriend in question and to clear things up :
1) I contacted the support before gifting that amount to be sure I wasn’t going against the ToS. I was told there were no problem at all.
2) I’ve played about 150h within the past 5 weeks (have a lot of free time recently) so I had plenty of time to understand how to “farm” gold in GW2.
3) @Abomally : about 10 days to reach 80 (quite easy with events/exploration/tome of knowledge from reward). Then daily all the world boss from the map explored and I got 1 lucky drop (skin sold for ~60g from black lion ticket). Killing all the world boss give up to 10 gold daily so it’s quite easy to farm more than 100g within a month
