For me it hasn’t gotten any better with soloQ even tho me ( and often my teams ) ratings ain’t that good. Today was one of most extreme matches…. EU primetime, me and my friend duoQ, my rank around 500, rest of our team not on leaderboard vs premade that had 3 members top 20 LB, one i think top 30, last one has been in top50..dunno current rank. Just makes me curious that how in the world is our MMR’s even close to each others.

You should include rank in ur MMR..atleast to some point. Like rank would make your rating smaller UNTIl your r20 or smth like that. It doesn’t really matter to me if they have good rating, have been carried by better players through few matches and still remain without a clue on whats going on. Like the match i posted ele was r1 he literally came from quite long distance away to me while i was free capping a point. Came to cap it with me so i decided f this and go ahead and do smth usefull, after that the ele started to follow me and left point uncapped?! i went back to the point and he came back with me… If that happens already what do u think about other stuff? like knowing when to engage? maybe count enemies if there is a freecap somewhere? knowing what time buffs come on temple? i mean just the basic stuff is lost and they remain kinda useless the whole fight and its 4.5 vs 5. There are alot of other stuff that they just have no clue about or how actually contribute team more. That’s why i’d really like to make rank affect their MMR until they reach maybe r20-r30 cuz at that point they should atleast know basic stuff.

•Fixed a bug that let teleport skills teleport players through certain walls, most notably the clock tower’s walls in The Battle of Khylo.

Pretty sure Phase Retreat not working in any z-axis is bug, atleast according to patch notes? i mean im fine not being able to phase retreat my way into clocktower and few other spots but not being able to use phase retreat to any different platform is just annoying. ATM it even sucks like hell because when u use ´phase retreat and there’s like tiny ledge behind you, ur just gonna get stuck on it.

It still required some sort of skill to do those teleport with phase retreat and is doable alot easier by teleport…all spots don’t even work with phase retreat that do work with skills like blink.
Atm its just ridiculous where u get stuck with phase retreat, its basicly if u can’t walk that path(no jumping) phase retreat won’t work. like on my human mesmer..if the platform is about as high as knee on my character, phase retreat won’t work.

Can’t believe this thread is still going on.
Just for this stealth guy
Condi removals:
9sec cooldown on water attunement, swap to water = 1 condi clear
Swapping to water = gain regen + trait called “cleansing water” = another condi cleared
Dodging in water ( pretty much perma vigor+energy sigils, ye u can dodge) with Evasive Arcana = another codi
thats 3 conditions removed every 9 seconds and dont forget the heal from those skills. (well 10 seconds if wanna be accurate with evasive arcana)
And if u haven’t already used Cleansing wave for yet another condi clear.
and cantrips remove conditions
Heals: pretty much everything above heals u or grants u regen and the passive effect from signet of restoration and as most bunker’s run S/D (atleast in EU) water trident gives another heal. can’t think of any other builds in this meta with this good condition removal.
AAnd protection from earth attunements.
Dmg that was discussed here, yes eles don’t trait for it but they don’t even have to:
Clerics amulet gives u power, rest comes from combo fields, doesn’t rly work in DD that well but S/D basic combo:
Updraft -> Dragon tooth -> Ring of fire -> Phoenix →(Fire Grab, gonna miss if doing this way) (and when stacking might swap earth) ->dodge in ur fire field (evasive arcana) -> Earthquake -> Churning Earth. Not efficient in most cases doing this way but 15 stacks of might there = 525 power, which is already more than u can trait when going 30pts on fire. So there u go, about same amount of power than full zerker glass cannon, without the precision ofc but u have acces to fury so w/e.
Mobility: RTL not affected by slows + lighting flash + swiftness, thief is mobile but no acces to swiftness alone ( or then im just not aware of it)
Point capping ye thief can do it but u rly think thief is gonna sit on point defending it like ele?

This game is hard on casuals or faint hearted. If you dont have a team whom you play with at least 3-4 hours each day, you will get farmed. If you dont have a team, dont expect to enjoy this game. (Well if you enjoy playing with noobs and getting farmed by hardcore pvp guilds )

The problem here isn’t as big as u guys are making it look. Last friday i formed a team with my guildies to do some free tournaments, i had done less than 10 tournament matches rest of my team about same amount and 2 had never done tournaments. Our ranks were 23,14,rest were under 10, one guy had never even entered pvp match. We had very little of knowledge about tactics there and then we just queued to have some fun there. Lost 2 first matches ( against guilds), changed our tactics a little cuz we realized what we had done wrong. Next match we won about 500-350 ( against guild again ), also won the next match against guild and got to round 3 and there we lost about 300-500 and if i remember correctly this was a group of random ppl picked from mists. We ain’t a hardcore PvP guild and yet we made it to final round.

If our very inexperienced team made it to final and u guys can’t get past the first round because always being farmed by ’’hardcore’’ pvp guilds, any chance that there is something wrong with the way ur playing there? And communication shouldn’t usually be a problem since most guilds do have TS or vent servers availeable for communication, so just invite your team there ( in GW1 @ HA it was requirement in most teams to keep spikes coordinated etc ). Also if u get beated on first round just don’t give up instantly and whine on forums but just give it another shot try learn from what u did wrong and just go again. My opinion still is that losing in tPvP is more fun than winning in sPvp.

Ever heard about using dodge/block? Thief can’t use CnD when he doesn’t land the hit which then leaves him stuck with usually 2 stealths depeding on build. Other one is area stealth where you can just go hitting the air, push him out of the area, w/e. Also while thief isn’t in stealth u can stun, immobilize and in general just try deal massive dmg. Thieves are very fragile and die easily when not in stealth. tho still enemies with zero/low condition removal will die during those 2 non CnD stealths when thiefs is using condition build but u just can’t always win

-More token rewards, atm there ain’t too many items i can buy with tokens, for example most people only are buying armor sets and once that is done its nothing left to do with tokens. For example my friend atm has bought his CoF armor set and now hes sitting with almost 4k tokens. Lodestone idea was very good. Like 1 lodestones for 100-150 tokens.

- Unique dungeon drops. Guild wars 2 had underworld where at end chest you had chance for items such as Dhuum’s Soul Reaper, unique scythe which was only possible to drop from that dungeon and Miniature Dhuum (collected 2 of those from underworld out of about 500 times i have completed it ). Like if arah would have chance to drop Miniature Lupicus, i would definently do the dungeon much more often.

-This isn’t really just for dungeons idea but i want the /age back showing how much time i have spent in that area. Makes it much more enjoyable when we are trying to get fastest time possible on a dungeon completion. Thats actually the one thing that kept me playing guild wars 1 for so long (and many of my friend).

-Bosses are quite nice but atm most of them are just too easy and take too long to finish. Rather make them do more damage or just more difficult in general instead of running in circle with ranged weapons and killing the enemy. Lupicus is good example for me of what all bosses should be. It’s not too difficult with team that knows what to do but i like the phase idea. In that boss i don’t even care if it has alot of HP because its fun.

-Bigger party restrictions in future dungeons? Groups of 8 players for some dungeons would be very fun.

Perfect is the key word here. they will be mostlikely spending alot of time building it up and making it work without problems. Think about what happened with karka event, some people didn’t get their exotic items because they didn’t know that chest would drop them that much and part of event was bugged. HUGE cry fest at forums so i suppose anet doesn’t want that to happen again.

Any chance this chest would be at arah, like after u done killing lupicus or other arah boss? Boss is definently big, they seem to have added some new dungeon only exotic items that might drop there or might just have increased chances of getting one. (Got an exotic backpiece at AC which was instantly account bound and the name of the item was somehow related to bosses name). And as it is exotic item, it won’t be as often dropped as other items may be.

In my opinion the drop rates have gone much better. Went from completed 4 scales of Fractals and got 2 exotics from chests (account bound on acquire) and 1 exotic torch from veteran enemy. Also many of my party members received few exotics and while i was on TS i know atleast 3 guys got exotic item as drop. U guys might just have been unlucky lol. ( also received many rares. one time i got 3 rares from opening one chest)

I would really like if Anet added stuff like Underworld, Fissure Of Woe, Urgoz and that stuff that was seen in Guild Wars 1. I really enjoyed those areas and in the end they were the main reason i kept playing it. I dont know if other people already posted this since there has just been tons of other threads and i didn’t bother going through them all. But for these there could be better rewards, such as Underworld had Dhuum’s Soul Reaper scythe, which was unique for that area. Also there were there unique miniatures such as Mini Dhuum and Mini Smite Crawler.
And as these were called Elite Areas in guild wars 1, these were more difficult than just normal quests to complete the storyline. The one thing i really enjoyed was that these areas were much less forgiving from mistakes.
Lets take examples from Underworld. It had 10 quests that needed to be finished and the final Boss ( Dhuum himself ). If your whole party died, you were removed from the area and had to start it all over. If u failed one quest, you also were removed from the area and had to start it all over ( no retrying the quests like we can atm.)
( Just for those people that didn’t play Guild Wars 1 that these areas were in addition of dungeons.)
I do of course understand if anet doesn’t want this to happen since i can’t even count the times skills were nerfed, enemies gained new skills, quests were changed and some new enemies were added to prevent the speed clearing of this area and this i believe was main reason we don’t see these areas at Guild Wars 2. But im sure u guys would be able to prevent the same thing from happening at Guild Wars 2.

Any1 mind explaining the heal? We were on track to kill it within time and then boss jumped from 50% back into 100% while we definently had players in the area. That just one time bug?

The ressing downed people is only small problem there. Its the amount of Hp that boss has and the amount of damage it does, this event pretty much makes melee attacking worthless since it takes like max 2 hits from the boss and ur down from 20k to zero. The heal that boss has is what makes it hard/impossible to be completed in that time. We had 30-50 ppl attackin the boss, got it down to about 50% during 4 minutes and then he healed himself back to 100%? that leaves us about 5-6 minutes to get killed which to me seems just impossible. I dont know if there is a way to prevent the heal from happening, such as killing the other boss? but if there is no way to prevent it, this event seem just impossible unless we go recruit whole tyria to weapons for this.

i haven’t read all the messages but idk why u saying its too difficult. u completed it with pugs = pretty much points that its not too difficult. and not being able to complete with any team configuration? thats the best part. for example guild wars 1, DoA. it needed just the right classes doing their own things to get it completed quickly. not like ur just running in with 8 warriors with healing signet and frenzy and try beat the area. this area was pretty much impossible to complete by grabbing 8 right class persons who ’’know’’ their job. didn’t hear any ppl crying over the area being too difficult there since people had actually spent time making the tactics for it that made it possible. its just matter of patience on how much ur willing to spend time, working out the problems
