Even if not a guild tax, but an auto donate option by fellow memebers. For example, an option could be for players to auto donate earnings. Could be a % or actual amount like 2-4c with it going directly to the deepest part of the guild stash.
This. I don’t think it should be a requirement but I personally would like to donate and it would be nice to have a method for doing that.
I agree with implementing the feature but not with making it a requirement for all guild members.
Ok well one thing I will say is that based on how you just explained it, the thief using a backup shortbow can use the 5th ability 3 times consecutively to jump a long way away, basically use it three times in a row and it’s essentially three blinks allowing you to get away REALLY fast
I had a thift hit me for 18k and then speed hack run away today
I don’t like when people just throw this around…was he REALLY speed hacking or was he just faster then you? Do you have any proof?
Last time people were accusing thieves of speed hacking was really just quickness…lol
how much gold or karma do you have?
my suggestion is walk into PvE and get someone to craft you gear or buy stuff from karma vendors or from the trading post
and how in gods name do you have only 160 badges

I have about 400 and that’s from like 4, 8 hour trips into WvW since launch, you my friend have been shafted by the badge gods
Not everyone has this issue, some servers I guess have been lucky with commanders that communicate well in the map chat and have been very successful with it.
Personally I have encountered almost all commanders that are in a voice chat server but very few (maybe 1 or 2 of about 20) ignore map chat, virtually all of them will always state their current status and ask for updates on various areas in map chat
Honestly having a commander on the map makes things easier, at least people having an arrow to follow is better then having 50 people in map chat arguing with eachother and never getting anything done
TL;DR I can see how that would be annoying but also I guess you have had some bad luck with commanders then

yep normal, thieves can hit like trucks especially with backstab invis spec, and LOL at the rabbit kill very nice
Could be a nice idea, in the meantime a fair amount of servers I think have already created their own websites
perhaps, escorted dolyaks could reward an extra +5 supply to the tower/keep for each player that has helped the dolyak reach his destination.
and on the other side of that, killing a dolyak could reward a +5 supply(past your current cap) to the player(s) that killed it.
I think this idea is really on the right track!
One thing I would add is when guarding a yak the supply boost would definitely need to be capped to avoid having a zerg of 50 guard a yak and have the keep/tower have instant full supply. (however I suppose you could argue if they are willing to do that they should get the benefit etc etc) but this would be my only potential adjustment
Otherwise I think this is a solid idea!
How about we get rid of the botters rather then kill the gameplay?
I don’t know about you, but I haven’t noticed a decrease in the number of botters in WvW.
I am not saying that isn’t the case I am just trying to show you the reasoning behind the current rewards system in WvW. Don’t shoot the messenger
Obviously getting rid of botters is the ideal scenario, and I am sure if some online game has developed the vaccine to getting rid of all botters it probably would already be implemented. However given that the cure for botters does not exist (afaik) the legitimate gamer will always be the one to suffer because of the aforementioned botters.

Why do people say this! This idea makes no sense! Yes let’s give everyone ribbons for participation and there is no winner or loser that completely defeats the purpose of competition, what is this kindergarten gym class?
As for the “Oh people won’t be demoralized and will want to play more” try to be realistic, if I hop into WvW and see the map is entirely controlled by one server pretty sure it’s safe to assume we are losing, and vice versa if I jump in and my server is owning everything again pretty safe to assume my server is winning, most if not all cases will be similar to this
Taking away the scoreboard makes it a powderpuff game and it still wouldn’t even fully achieve the purpose people think it will.

You lay out a very good argument, however to once again play devil’s advocate, you say that if a casual player sees this:
Server A has a score of 150,000 and has +400 / tick
Server B has a score of 60,000 and has +175 / tick
Server C has a score of 30,000 and has +120 / tick
That will generally mean he will not join (if he is server B or C) and granted you are correct in most cases that will happen. Now basically your core point has already proven what I have said:
If all it takes for a casual player to not join is seeing those numbers then what exactly is stopping said casual player from jumping into WvW opening the map to see where to go seeing 70% of the maps controlled by server A and just logging right off again.
Defending the dolyaks had it’s rewards removed because it was the easiest thing ever for a botter to abuse the kitten out of those quests and get the rewards
As for the defense of camps and such, you only get rewards for repairing and killing something (this however I disagree with and should definitely be adjusted)
But the issue with all the PvE aspects of WvW (defence events, dolyak escorts, krait/centaur/skritt events) is that all of them are extremely predictable and super repetitive (a lot of times even more predictable and repetative then PvE actually is) making them a botters dream which unfortunately leaves us legitimate players out in the cold for rewards, and if Anet were to expand the ways to get rewards in all these events unfortunately you would have an infestation of botters worse then it already is

As has been said a few times in this thread a server being full CAN translate to WvW presence and success but there are so many other factors that contradict that and are much more likely, especially given the current state of WvW:
- even those who like WvW are hesitant currently to join in anymore given the current state of WvW and the issues everyone is having with it
- there is a large amount of people who have no interest in PvP and play the game for the PvE aspect
- there is a fair amount of people that don’t care for WvW and prefer only sPvP
- on top of all of that there is a good chance that a large portion is certain time zones (predominately EU or predominately NA) resulting in lack of day presence or lack of night presence which as we all know hinders WvW success
On SBI personally I really like HCProfessionals, Kriptic and The Original Gov
Hard for me to choose between the three, I really like all of their play styles, they know very well when to be aggressive, how to set up a successful siege and when it’s time to defend. Additionally they are all especially good at setting up spotters to keep eyes on everything so they can assess situations all over the map. (special kudos to everyone who volunteers to be a spotter, I know it can get boring standing around at a keep/tower/camp as I have volunteered myself but it’s really helpful!)
Having said that there are many other solid commanders on SBI but those three specifically stand out for me, it’s awesome when I get into WvW and see one of them on.
I can honestly say there have been some very solid battles against Ioj and BG and despite the few exploits that have occurred the rest of their servers have been straight up and fun to battle against.
Ioj and B have been doing what the 3 server battle is supposed to have gang up on the one in first, cause as was said before if they were to just fight each other it may just lead to us furthering our lead
Props to BG and Ioj for putting up awesome fights and for all the fun battles! Looking forward to 4 more days of it
Ps. Fights over stone mist have been tons of fun :P
