A Zerk Ele isn’t gonna go to 70% usually though, they’re either at full, dead, or very close to dead.
scholar runes are the best choice for zerk ele.
Agreed, I’ve been reluctant to use them myself…swapped to Scholar runes lately and it’s lovely. With practice and difficult content, keeping your HP high isn’t an issue – it’s often either high enough for me or I’m dead, anyways.
Helps that the best-feeling build for my favorite weapon (staff) takes 10 in water for 10% additional damage when over 90% health as well, though.
Thief: Stealth. What and mobility. King of burst.
Actually Thief class mechanic is Steal, not stealth, which actually isn’t that useful. Stealth is just as easy on a Mesmer, and Mobility well we’re really not that mobile… Other then that I agree with you on the limiting mechanic and it needs to be reworked.
One small note – it isn’t as easy to stealth on a Mesmer as it is on a Thief…and technically, as Theif gets special attacks from being in stealth, it is somewhat of a class feature.
I’ve been running 30/20/10/0/10 on my ele, but that’s because I’m not skilled enough yet to stay above 90% health that often. I also usually don’t have blasting staff loaded in arcana, though…I quite like my vigor on crit.
I don’t know what I’m doing wrong, but I must be doing SOMETHING wrong…enjoying my elementalist even more after the recent patch, since it wound up improving. >_>
Definitely not boycotting my favorite character.
I’m interested in joining.

Mostly every class can obtain pets/objects to act as an AoE target. Engineers can place 5 of them. Other examples include Elementals, ambush traps, and clones.
Also, the extra utility skill the pet has isn’t a role, and none of them do anything that other classes can’t do. Most are a simple stun, buff, or condition.
The Ranger gets them at no opportunity cost. I’m surprised that has to be pointed out.
Technically, having to be a ranger IS an opportunity cost.
