Well anet could always have a public test server where the community and the devs could collaborate on new balance and feature patches before they hit the live server, and not have a week of bug fixes because you bug fixed 95% of the issues while it was in actual testing, not by a few QA guys that clearly dont know anything about the classes they are balancing.

also the fact that not every single class is on equal ground in every game mode, attributes to poor balancing decisions that can only stem from a lack of understanding of their own product. Were they to actually collaborate with the player base instead of these kitten forum posts we could have a game worthy of esports, but no ptr, and space balance updates that are more along the lines of gutting one class and overbuffing another 3-4 times a year, esports wont happen
possibly, whatever they do it certainly is not collaborating with the community to get proper balance results, bugs me that they want this game to be esports so badly but think they can do it without a public test server and at least bi weekly balance changes untill things stop being so, well all over the place

Ahh, well if its private then that defeats the purpose of having a public test realm, and if they do use it they cant use it very well because there are so many bugs with every patch and update, example smite condition clearing 1 condi instead of two with this recent patch. One would assume that they would you know, test the things they are doing before they dump it on the live servers.
Aslo during the HOT beta tests, people who didnt have access to the beta still had to download all the beta files , and that may not be an issue to some but if you dont have access, and you have limited internet data per month, thats another big issue IMO

I don’t understand why one of the current top fantasy MMOS still does not have a test server for large patches. There are so many good reasons to have one and literally 0 reasons not to have one, unless you think that spending money to make the game better is a bad thing.
It would allow for better player feedback on patches before it hits live, and more collaborations between players and developers on patches, to avoid the balance catastrophe that has been HOT, or really just any balance patch in general that seems like the people who came up with the changes had no interaction with the payers that beg for actual balance instead of executing classes and OPifying others.
It would also allow for a lot less of the one week after the patch madness of constant data killing bug fixes, ( not everyone has access to unlimited internet so it would be a great PR thing and whatnot)
If this game is to ever be Esports like ANET dreams, it needs better balance, and for that you need a test server, and you need to actually get involved with your player base and collaborate with them on balance patches.

As the title states the new boon duration stat seems to be bugged.
guardian, with retreat, 20s swift base, with minstrel ammy 27 1/2 according to the tooltip, when i cast it, the boon itself is only 20s, checked every other shout and virtue, same thing, tool tip has increased duration, and the actual boons do not.
Has anyone else noticed this issue?

Guards are and will remain vital parts of at least two game modes, wvw and pve.
The fact you posted that shows you dont kow a lot about guardian, so i will educate you about why they remain dominant in those game modes and why they also function well in pvp, and will continue to do so.
In wvw the guardian offers very powerful group support in the form of boon sharing and condition management. A gaurd per party has always been a constant the wvw. Also offer great control in the form of wards.
In pve the guardian offers fantastic active defences in the form of reflects and party wide.blocks. when you need to dps a boss down, evading lowers your dps. so making it sou you can stand in one place and highly useful in any aspect of.pve, esp dungeons and fracts. Also party wide quickness is a nice new touch.
In pvp we hard counter teefs and do a pretty good job of countering other zerker builds if the guard is worth anything.
I doubt very much that the tempest, a single spec, will invalidate the entire clasd that has been in a good place since ever.

As for atstem specs i can name it off the top of my head but its able to run guildwars thats for sure. Its a driver issue of some sort. I have tried basic troubleshooting such as re installing her video drivers but apparently it will not work. Any information on the issue would be fantastic.

Make sure your char is facing them, straight at them. If you dont have acess to an immob before you cast i find backpeddling away from them worls most of the time as you can keep them in the hitbox
~ 30% dmg increase from zeal alone for power builds, slow on hammer hits, medi hammer/ gs is gunna be goood!
This is the softcc we have been waiting for, 33% on hit with a 10s icd is going to be quite powerful for zerk hammer builds imo. So far these trait changes look amazing to me and ive mained gaurd for about 2 yrs. I am very excited for these changes and see a lot of great build options already
Most likely get cheaper. Supply will increase with people making them for money and demand will decrease with people making them for themselves. This is purely speculayion on my part though

It seems you want something for nothing, and your expecting an expansions content to rival that of the origional game but cost less?

Imo zealots should make an appearance.
Zealots is power power main stat precision and healing power off stats. Nomads is def bunker . But not all stats that aren’t In pvp are bunker stats . Such as givers or zealots. Nomads would likely be a bit over the top for bunkers.but it provides no condi or power like dire or soldier does
As the title says. Amulets such as zealots. Nomads. Givers. Etc etc that currently are not in the s pvp game mode and what you guys think the pros/cons would be.

before i state my questions/ideas
i have player warcraft since vannila, tried a few other mmos, and played runescape since classic, so i have plenty of experience with mmos, and so far this game looks like itle top any fantasy mmo out there! it will be nice to join the community and slay some monsters, and maybe some of you in the future =p
I have very little idea in where to begin with a character, i was thinking i would like a spellblade of sorts, and i see that mesmers can use 2 handed swords, that looks like it could be fun, but is it viable? or should i just play a gaurdian ? and do gaurdians have something along the lines of what a ret pally was in warcraft?
open to all suggestions, i like to hack and slash but, not as a flat out warrior
