There is no gain in 95% of the games from using an i7 over an i5 simply because most don’t support more than 2 or 4 threads meaning you will get no benefit from hyperthreading.
Don’t go socket 2011 if you aren’t getting a hexacore.
Ivy bridge is a faster architecture so drop down to an i5 3570K and z77 motherboard if you are just using it for a gaming machine.
Drop to 8gb ram.
Ditch the soundcard.

My issue is about a permabanned account that changed to terminated yesterday.
The graphics card is the most important upgrade.
Don’t invest money in getting a new cpu compatible with your current motherboard.
Old cpu’s are really overpriced (due to scarcity and no longer being produced) and it just doesn’t match a modern (upgradable) cpu for the same money.
Generally a modern cpu with motherboard and ram will actually cost less than just an old high end (at the time) cpu.
What is your budget and what is the website you intend to buy the parts from?
I like helping the people in need of a new pc but on a low budget get the best bang for their buck and have done so for litteraly hundreds of people.
I do this by making lists consisting of computer parts wich are intended to provide you the best performance for your budget without skimping on quality wich should be assembled by yourself.

Obviously the problem is not with his computer, nor with anyone else experiencing this low fps issue with a system that passes the minimum requirements.
This is Anet’s problem, not our systems.

At this time it means jack squat, simply because ALOT of other people, me included, are also experiencing these problems. Anet even replied one my emails stating there’s a problem and they’re working on it.
If his problem will continue after Anet fix their shi t, then and only then will his specs mean something.

There are loads of people with pc’s below or with barely the minimum requirements making threads about bad performance.
Thanks for the suggestion. I5 plus mobo plus ram is likely to be in the region of £300. I’m not really able to sit on the money for too long as the upgrade is supposed to be a gift from a family member and i dont want to seem ungrateful by saying im not upgrading til i get more cash.
If i get more cash i would go with your recommendation but for now i think i need to look at alternatives at £200 and below.

how much is your fps and what settings do you play on?
not to mention that GW2 has some performance eating features like anti aliasing, post processing effects and shadows which take alot of power
if you turn those to a lower setting or off you might gain some fps
Its always around 30-40 FPS when walking, it doesent matter if I set on highest or lowest settings. And WvW is unplayable, below 15 fps.
Honestly, I expected much worse.
You are not going to get better performance than that.
call your cc and get the refund from them mate. then report anet to the bbb. I too have been suspended without proof or reason for 72 hours. I want proof before the 72hrs is up and an apology

It would be good but I personally wouldn’t get a thermaltake powersupply.
Look at (500w +) xfx, antec HCG / Neo eco, seasonic, OCZ ZS or corsair powersupplies in that pricerange.
Stay away from generic brands.
There is also no benefit from using a Z77 motherboard with a non K cpu.
Either pay a bit extra and get a 3570K so you can OC or go cheaper on the motherboard and get a B75 or H77 chipset motherboard.
They can’t OC the non K ivy and sandy bridge cpu’s.
Ivy and sandy bridge OC by increasing the multiplier wich is locked in the non K cpu’s.
If you really want to, you can squeeze out slightly more.
Like 200 mhz but that’s way too complicated for the people that would generally buy prebuilts (no offense meant) wich wouldnt allow them to OC either.
The whole computer is ready for an upgrade but the graphics card is your main problem.
The 5450 is extremely weak and not meant for gaming at all.
Do realize that you will probably also need a new powersupply if you upgrade it to a decent graphics card and that the cpu will form a bottleneck for it.
I am pretty interested in knowing why I got terminated instead of a temp ban as well.
I never get a temp ban. just a straightup permaban wich was changed into termination.

As for overclocking, what makes you think it wouldnt be fine for new builds?
If you are refering to the 7850’s from the thread in tech support, having the performance of a more expensive card is always nice and it’s not exactly hard to do with msi afterburner. Besides, msi has a voltage limit by default preventing you from overvolting too much.
Unfortunately, there is no indication on what rule 0 or rule 20 are.
They should make it a link to an actual reason rather than having to guess what the number stands for.

You’d probably either just run blindly after your target because I think most people won’t pay much attention to the enemies this way.
Or you’d have a hard time selecting a new enemy.
Aside from breaking the immersion that is.
Personally I’d go for the first build.
This is because the HD7850 can OC to the point where it can match a 7870, the case looks nice and has better features on the inside and guild wars 2 will benefit from the extra cpu horsepower. Any bit extra in WvW is nice.

As mentioned before, it’s just lego with cablemanagement.
Bring the parts to a local computershop and let them assemble it if you don’t have the time or fear of messing it up wich is honestly fairly hard.
You will still have a far superior and higher quality system for the same price.
Just read the manuals.
Hell, I’ve seen a completely tech illiterate girl that only used laptops build a gaming pc in 1.5 hours live on cam a while back.
List a budget and I will make a build for you.
600 pounds will easily get you a far superior system that will run any game on high (most on max) at 1920×1080.

The pc from the parts I listed is significantly better in every way and $100 less.
Do realize that every single part has warranty and each of those companies have free helpdesks.
Prebuilts lure customers in with a decent cpu and loads of ram while ram is the least (4GB for budget and 8GB for mid and high end is fine) important for gaming.
They then praise it as the ultimate gaming pc while they added a 35 buck graphics card resulting into barely running anything above low and are generally just overpriced.
Prebuilts also use very crappy quality parts in general.
Building your own pc should take about an hour to 2 hours depending on your experience and the complexity of the system (as in an office pc being a simpler system than a gaming pc)
