Probably many of you have seen this already on reddit, but seeing the amount of positive feedback I am posting it here too so those who may like it but not visiting reddit can have a chance to see it as well.

Also if you have a GW2 character that fits into the world of Borderlands, feel free to share here, i would be excited to see how others got close to that style with GW2’s character customization system. I tried to do some ingame cosplays of Lilith, Gaige, Krieg, Mordecai or Hammerlock but failed because the options were just too limited, maybe someone had a bigger success.

I’m gonna post this here too, P/P isn’t that bad as many people may think especially since patch, just needs some practice to make it work. And well ye, i still use d/p as an off set if i run out of stealth, but most importantly i can have fun with p/p as a main weapon. Some duels against decent players with strong builds like mediguard or s/f ele. I’m not saying its super powerful but it can be as good as meta d/p, or even better in some situations.

For roaming i mostly use the SA version of the build and i found its survivability comparable to meta d/p mostly because of lifesteal.
So just wanted to say, dont give up on p/p, its viable already, and probably it will be even better with daredevil (tested it but cant tell yet).

Some P/P duels against strong builds like s/f ele and mediguard, to show the weapon set isn’t dead, and can be actually viable.

On a serious note the elite, dodge leap and other physical skills hit quite hard so it is possible to gank a squishy opponent under a few seconds with bare hands and a successful combo.

I have been playing with double pistols quite a lot since the patch mostly in roaming and duels, and imo its more viable now than before (against single target ofc). Reasons: access to every needed trait (panic strike+exe/improv, stealth on steal+stealth regen, and trickery).

The two builds i was using with success:
DA SA TR – P/P+D/P

Basicly a d/p meta build used with p/p which works surprisingly well. Improv can be taken over exe, it is handy against mesmers, dp thieves, guards etc. Also in some cases bountiful theft is better but trickster is still bugged and puts haste on a 36s cd (instead of 48s), also i like having enough condi cleanse and faster withdraw. Vamp runes can be used for more lifesteal, but i always preferred pack. I found the survivability in roaming similar to d/p roaming builds, because you have blinding powder while those usually use infiltraitors signet, and if you are in trouble, you can always switch to d/p for more stealth.

DA CS TR – P/P+D/P
This one has huge burst and can make your enemy kitten his pants if he is zerky, as an unload in haste will trigger panic strike so they cant dodge, then another unload will mostly likely down him if he is slow and doesnt use any stunbreaks, invulns etc. Of course this burst with a similarly glassy build can be done withbackstabs too, but those who are reading this thread obviously want something more cool and unique. While this build doesn’t have the survivability and sustain which the SA build does, it is certainly more fun because of the huge dmg from unload.

I don’t really have footage of it unfortunately, (if people ask for it i can try), i just wanted to say, don’t give up on p/p, it’s better than it was.
Of course i tested it with daredevil and worked really well, both with dash and leap dodge, so that’s another reason for hope.

Just for fun, I made a Kung Fury build to test on bwe2, no weapons just physical skills and basic mechanisms. Through the testing my partner was killed and i went down many times, but then i got struck by a lightning and bitten by a cobra, and could record this fight:

Brief description of what you’re seeing: It started like a month ago that i’m having 1-2sec skillag in primetime anywhere in the game, which means i basicly can’t play. The game is running fine mostly before and after primetime without lag. It should be a server problem, because out of the game my connection is fine and other games are running without lag in primetime (from 19pm-23pm).
Please try to solve this because the game is unplayable in that time and today the lag was even more ridiculous.

i had the same problem, and only could log in after i restarted my pc. after that i had insane 5-10 sec lag spikes, and i still has it now, also the connection issues. it isn’t my connection, as i played right before the patch, and i had no lag at all, so pls fix this.

yep, i had no problem with lag before this patch, now i got 5-10sec lag spikes that i never had in the game before under a year. also have connection issues sometimes, since the patch, and can’t log in until i restart my system, so Anet pls fix it, i heard some others have the same issue.

sure, i know rank doesn’t mean much, but lets say he spent 100hours in wvw for that title on guardian, and he doesnt swap weapons in a long fight… thats just really sad. he didnt ran away tho as many others (even when i roam with an upleveled), so he has my respect for that.

oh god, i met that guardian again but this time i was on my lvl 80… he is a bronze assaulter now, that means at least rank 180, but he still loves his staff, never switched to other weapon set (if he has), so it wasn’t just trolling last time, there are serious wvw players in the game like him :/

Yeah, first time i thought he is just trolling… but as he couldnt really hurt me under 3mins and called his friend for help, i had to realize he is serious… later then a guildy met those 2 and said they were bad indeed, so sadly that rank 150+ player wasn’t just trolling me.

It is the 7th episode of The Lowbie Adventrues series, this time with a level 20 scepter/focus condition ele. Really strange weapon choice for roaming/dueling, i know, but i needed the defensive skills of the focus to compensate the lack of traits. I guess this was one of the reasons i could won those fights, cause many players dont know the focus skills and animations (they were mostly new for me), the other reasons of course the opponents were bad (or uppity), and low level upscaling is OP a bit (3k armor and 22k HP with 1,6k condi dmg on ele, lol).
Anyway, this is just for fun, hope you like it.

Lvl 20 warrior can have 3,7k armor with 36k HP, 2 condi removal utility, with the OP healing signet, and 1k condi damage or something else, it’s ridiculous, and more than enough for zerging, or killing not good players.

Anet said something about fixing the condition upscaling with the “balance patch”, well, nothing’s changed, gj Anet. (Though they finally fixed rune of paralyzation that everyone was waiting for… oh wait. But it is another topic.)

Yea just posted for lols. Honestly, I think the biggest disadvantage of uplevels is most don’t know how to play the class yet and don’t know what build they’re going to use.

But it seems in general condition builds at low levels are disproportionately strong because the stats come distributed from gear while power builds are more reliant on the base damage of the weapon which benefits more from lvl 80 exotic/ascended.

I’m terrible with ele, that’s why i didn’t do a lowbie elementalist movie, and eles relies on traits as much as thieves, if not more. But i can offer a 10g prize for the first player who makes a video like these with an elementalist.

Many people misses my main point here… the upscaling on low level is too OP compared to the upscaling on higher levels and lvl80s without proper exotic gear. You can’t do the same things with a higher level character that you can do on low level, even if you have elites, etc, it doesnt matter, so it’s unbalanced and unfair. The solution would be to nerf the upscaling of lvl10-20 chars, and that’s all.

Most of the upscaled players in wvw don’t know how to max out these stats, or they are already on higher level, of course they will be garbage and free bags.

About the 2k backstab, you should know a thief can’t have 100%crit chance from stealth on lvl20, so if the attack doesn’t crit, it will be around 2k, when it crits, its 4-7k, depending on the opponents armor. But that’s why it was harder with a thief than with the other classes, thieves relies more on traits, so take a look at the others, you just can’t ignore 10stacks of bleed which ticks for 115 and stuff like that if you are not built against conditions.

How? You wouldn’t stand a chance against any half-decent 80’s. The people you killed were absolutely awful, and that’s the only reason you killed them.

I said higher level, not highest level, so it means around lvl30-70. As others also said, even if you have greens, etc. your stats will be crappy. I go further, on lvl80 your stats are still crappy in greens, you can probaly have half of that you can max out on lvl 10-20. I don’t think it’s okay this way. Sure you have all the traits, but even if you are a half-decent or decent lvl 80 player in greens, you may lose against a decent upscaled lvl 20 who has a good counterbuild (i’m not talking about thieves coz they really need the traits for proper play, but condition mesmers or rangers for example).
I know most of the opponents were bad in these videos, tho i’m sure some of them had only greens or something like that, and even if they aren’t bad, they couldn’t win cause they didn’t have the stats for that. But at least they have the chance to get exotics, while characters under lvl75 don’t, so they have no way to be that strong as lvl10s. It’s just funny.

I did another lowbie video, with Hodor as a thief this time, for fun, and also to point out a few things.

Upscaling system is ridiclulous for low level (lvl10-20) characters, the upscaling multiplier for a stat on lvl20 is ‘8’, so putting 10 points on critical strikes gives you +800 precision and +80% crit dmg. Max out them with armor/trinket stats, runes, nuggets and food, and you can get 120%crit dmg, 3k attack and ~50% crit chance on lvl20…. WTF?

True, i didn’t have the necessary stealth traits, but the main problem is , as you level up, your stats getting worse and worse, and the traits you get instead can’t compensate the loss of stats, so its unfair that a lvl10-20 character is much stronger than a lvl60.

About time, condition upscaling for low level characters in wvw is ridiculous, as you can get more than 1600 condition damage on level 10… but as you gain levels the upscaling getting worse and worse, so basically a level 10-20 character can be stronger than a level 50 from the same class.

Probably my last lowbie video, this time with a condition warrior vs lvl80 players. I know most of the opponents were really bad, but still… upscaling is OP, i wouldn’t say warrior is Though i think there are too much complaining about warriors, that they are weak, etc., coz it was quite easy to make this vid, compared to necro or else. Hope you enjoy!

After doing the same thing with 4 different classes (ranger, engi, mesmer, necro), i can say, killing ppl with the ranger was the easiest. Obviously most of the lvl80s in the videos were really bad players, but still, with the other classes it was a bit or more harder to do it (i needed runes, shoulder, etc), and i cant win a single fight with a lvl10 thief (tho i gave up early).

But, i still think, if not the ranger class, the upscaling on this level is OP, as on higher lvl with more traits, utilites and elites the stats are so kitten that you cant win a fight which you could win on lvl10-12… it’s a bit strange.

Lol, no hax, this video would be pointless with hacks. I’m not sure which fight you talking about tho, but on this low level my armor cant be high, so i need to evade as much dmg as i can, so without good movement i’m dead… And i was dead many times when i faced good opponents with high dmg, who could hit me.

My condition dmg was about 1500-1600, so yeah, it’s possible if most of the gear gives +condi dmg. That’s why i think upscaling is a bit OP, cause 1600 condi dmg for a lvl11 is crazy. Tho the other stats were poor, you can see them, the armor was only 2200.

I don’t know necro, so this video was a bit harder to make, but everyone said condition necro is OP now, so i tried it with an upleveled character against lvl80s, you can watch the best fights here:

As a result i can say that, on this low level it’s easier to roam and fight with ranger, mesmer or engi, but it’s viable with necro aswell. Couldn’t do it with thief though.

Yeah it can be true… I fought an asura melee ranger a few days ago, and i couldn’t see what’s he doing, he was so tiny (so, when he blocks or placing traps), while against other classes, you can see it pretty well.

Sorry for the disabled video in America, i tried to upload it again, then remove the sound, but youtube instantly deleted it because of “duplicated content”, and as my upload speed is too slow to try it again, i can only recommend proxy.

And yeah, most of the opponents were really bad, but i still think ~1700 condi dmg (could be even more with stacks) for a lvl 11 character is a bit too much, i won’t suggest a big nerf, just a little. I’m not complaining tho, it can be funny.

Well, there are much more nabs on wvw than i thought, this, or the previous 2 similar vids i made took me 2 days of roaming+editing (not all day long of course:). I just had to find good spots, where lonely ppl running through, tho i got zerged or outnumbered many times, when more ppl came to help their mate to beat a lvl10 -_- That could be a bit annoying, but otherwise, it’s fun.

Haha, yeah I know the opponents were terrible, but i think you cant do it with every other classes on lvl 12. After the fights i can say that warriors were the easiest to beat (especially GS wars), and even if it is a decent gs warrior, i can immobilize, cripple them, and evade most of their attacks, thats why i felt it a bit OP.
