What else can they do about it? Tuning combat for higher latency players actually just makes it worse for all players (sluggish combat).
I’m just crossing my fingers for oceanic servers sometime down the road, otherwise it’s just something I’ll have to deal with.
And when it gets too frustrating I’ll play warrior for a bit =]
It’s super punishing for players with a higher ping (I’m in Australia), I can’t even land auto attack if someone is running away from me and I’m using Signet of Shadows.
Have to actually hope someone stops moving to land anything other than steal or heartseeker (which seems to have it’s own issues).
It’s pretty frustrating when you get punished because of where you live.

I want to get that greatsword out more but I only ever really use it if I’m farming things with not much hp, fighting something that has lots of hp but isn’t really a threat in dungeons or if what we’re fighting is really close to a wall so I can get lots of tasty ability 3 hits in.
I play on Sea of Sorrows, however i live in North American, during “North American” prime time, we don’t have a large amount of people, and generally throughout the day we slowly lose all the work the aussies did, they probably feel the same as you when they wake up and think “Those Americans keep losing all our points!”
That’s pretty close to how it is.
But I don’t blame anyone for losing points while a chunk of the server is asleep.
First, the game just barely came out. Are you saying they should roll out with world-wide servers to start? And if they are unwilling, then so what?
There was the same request for Oceanic servers in SWTOR. They finally put them in, just in time for most of the playerbase to quit.
It’s pretty frustrating waiting for skills/dodge to go off, some things require the ability to predict the future to dodge and can be pretty fun destroying.
Imagine playing Dark Souls but everything happens half a second after you do it.
In the end it’s still playable but it would be nice if sometime in the future an Oceanic realm was added.
100% for a little more camera distance, I wouldn’t play this as far out as the other MMO I play but a little more would be nice.
Arena Net – Keep the difficulty as hard as it is. Just increase the reward significantly…
+1
I like ex mode, but it would be nice if it gave you a little more.
I’ve seen a few people be like ’that’s it?’ after an ex mode clear.
I’m not 100% sure about ex mode, but it seems like you can at least do story mode while under leveled.
A few days ago I did CM with a level 34 and a 36.
Lylin I think he means the third boss, the one where you have to pretect the two… things from lots of Gravelings.
I also spent a few hours on that encounter and didn’t complete it, but that was with one group and maybe I’ll beat it next time.
Seems like it would be much easier with 2-4 Elementalists.
Also in Detha’s path on the 4th encounter, it would be nice if it actually reset when you fail, as if you wipe there is 8 mobs chilling there and if you do kill one they seemed to instantly re-appear.
If Detha gets downed he won’t go back to fixing the turrets unless every mob near is killed which seems like a tall order.
Maybe it was bugged I don’t know.
The humans path was so much easier, but I think we had a better group (and an 80 warrior + pally who were tanky, while I as Ele took care of the AoE deeps and healing when needed).
I’m no expert, but for those of you that can, look into how hot your CPU etc is running.
I have an i5 750 (older 2.67 Ghz quad), HD 7850 and 12GB of RAM.
When I got GW2 things were a little choppy and WvW was unplayable.
I applied a very mild overclock (3 Ghz) and before I got a better case and a better cooling solution it wasn’t running much better, but after that it’s pretty smooth on full settings.
What’s frustrating me is I OC’d to 3.8 Ghz and that worked great for a while (still runs cool), but after one of the patches GW2 would crash when loading a character, will try again soon.
