I’d like to see shatter abilities become more interesting. I’d also like to see some tweaks to support skills, and group buffs. Just to make us a little more desirable.

We also have a few weak abilities on some of our weapons that could be changed. GS/Focus come to mind.

Do it like LOTRO where there were multiple “neighborhoods.” So basically there are preset plots of land to purchase within a given neighborhood. This way you have maybe 20-30 neighbors. The instances are clean looking, but free reign to choose house style, yard decorations, etc.

I’d like to see an option to toggle exp off for crafting. I understand the concept of “everything” gives exp, but I don’t like the idea that I’m flying through levels. Feels much less rewarding in the long run for me personally. Give us the choice of what rewards exp. I feel like I’m being showered in it even for the most trivial tasks.

Best part of playing an MMO for me is going out adventuring, and feeling accomplished hitting max level down the road. Its something to work towards and keeps you playing. I have maybe 10-12 hours a week to play, and I’m already level 40 since launch. WAY too fast. Level scaling is a brilliant idea, but its still not the same. Its a mental thing. Feels more like the decision was to let players blast through lvls then go back and see what they missed.

The trip is much more fun than the destination imo. Maybe its my EverQuest roots. Just an optional feature I’d like to see. Can’t please everyone, but they can try =)

I don’t see how mesmer is a pet class. Illusions are more like a physical representation of dots. Its like calling an engineer a pet class cuz they drop turrets. I have absolutely no issues with mesmer illusions/shatters as they are.

Last thing I want to see is pet control added. Mesmer is fun because things can be a little unpredictable, and if you know how the class works and have an idea of how to spec you can do some really interesting things.

Enchanters in EQ1 had a summoned phantasmal sword/shield that fought for them and were uncontrollable, as well as the ability to coerce enemies and use them as pets…but they were never dubbed a pet class. They were crowd control/support with low damage. I feel the mesmer is in the same category; except the mesmer CAN put out some good dps.

I do fine with dps. I think people have a hard time wrapping their head around what a Mesmer actually is capable of. Like several posters said; it’s not all about raw direct damage. Mesmer is like a jack of all trades, decent dmg, decent support and a helluva lotta fun to play.

Mesmer is the most unique class in-game, and many mesmer’s are having a hard time grasping the class, which spills over to others and becomes “mesmer are crap, reroll.”

If you are good and understand the mechanics you can keep up some great condition damage, and constantly have 3 illusions up.

Unfortunately it seems Mesmer is going to be frowned upon initially, but thats ok. All of us Mesmers are smiling in groups, because we are supporting /doing more than people realize.

Every single mesmer out there needs to watch these. I learned quite a few things from your videos, and was happy to see that I already had a pretty good grasp on the class.
