Hello. First of all, my apologies for the vague title (45 char limit is a killer).

I’m close to have 250 of each materials (after leveling my crafting professions) and I was wondering, which materials should I keep, if any?

I’m thinking a good example could possible be T6 mats and some ores (Platinum, Darksteel, Mithril and Orichalcum for Gift of Metal).

Any reason to keep lower tier materials?

While on WvW, turn down some graphic settings.

Try setting both Character Model Limit and Character Model Quality to low. While far from ideal, this alone will greatly improve the game performance. You can also hide the player’s name, this will help with your FPS as well.

I’m playing on a 5 years old low end computer just fine. Granted I don’t have the best graphic settings, but the game runs smooth and without any problem whatsoever. While buying a new computer probably will fix any issue, I wouldn’t consider that the default option. Some people just can’t afford a new computer, specially just for playing a game.

Hello, I’m really sure this is a dumb question, but I couldn’t find any solid confirmation out there.

My understanding is that both Legendaries and Ascended gear are account bound, meaning that I share them between my characters.

Now my question is, what happens if I apply a Sigil / Rune to these items? Is the Account Bound attribute lost (as Sigils / Runes make the item to be Soulbound)? Will they retain the Account Bound attribute?

@Fay: For dungeons I usually go with Sword/Focus or Sword/Sword. I keep my Greatsword on my inventory for some fights.

@DuckDuckBOOM: Yes, mostly for Open World PvE. I’m currently working on my Mesmer’s Map Exploration and I happen to like the Greatsword as my weapon for Open World content. It’s more a matter than ‘I can kill most of the stuff before they can reach me, thus saving some time’ than ‘not comfortable being at melee range’. Oh, don’t worry… I’m not using #5 as part of my DPS rotation :P

I probably would go with Bloodlust and Fire, although I’m considering Fire/Air as well.

Hello all. A fellow guild member was really nice and gave me an Exotic Greatsword for my Mesmer. As a new player, this was quite an upgrade.

So I was wondering, what sigils should I use on my Greatsword? I want to buy a good quality ones (Exotic), thus I want to make the right choice (those are expensive).

Usually I spent most of my time doing PvE, Open World for the most part and some dungeons (I’ve a set of Swords for those). What do you guys recommend?

As far as GS in open world goes, mobs have so little hp that you can generally kill groups of them before they reach you just with iZerker, mirror blade, and a shatter. This makes GS pretty smooth and effective for open world, because it means you don’t really have to ever engage, just sorta instakill from 1200 range and keep moving.

This is something I noticed, that’s why I like the GS: usually I can kill most mobs before they even reach me, which is quite convenient while exploring.

Hello guys, I’m currently working on my Mesmer’s map completion and I thought I should review my build (still running with some leveling traits).

Here’s the deal: I like the GS, and even though I know it doesn’t get much love, I would like to use it as my main weapon.

Could you please suggest a decent / viable build?

To whoever designed the landscapes, cities, caves, lakes, and so on… you did a great, no… you did an awesome job!

They’re amazing, I don’t recall other game that hook me with such beautiful and detailed scenarios. I’m not a MMORPG person myself, but I just kept playing to discover new places… just love it!

Hello all, I’m considering making an alt character for those moments when I want to play more relaxed and mindlessly (ie, after a long day at work).

My only character at the moment is a Mesmer, and I really enjoy playing it! However, even though is really fun, it requires me to be on top of everything to manage both my characters and illusions. That said, I’m looking for a more ‘auto attack until everything is gone’ approach (I know, that doesn’t exist in GW2, but anything close to that will do).

Some things to consider:

• I want this alt for PvE, open world farming
• I would like it to be simple and forgiving, just to play mindlessly for a while
• I did not enjoyed the Warrior profession
• I do not have money to spare, so he/she will have find his/her own gear
• Ideally, this would be my Event/Open World character to go
• Mobility is key, whether movement skills or perma-swiftness

Any suggestions you may have? Any questions that could help with your advice?

Hello, I’m looking for a casual, friendly guild to join.

I would like to find a home in a guild that allows me to play at my own pace (means, not requiring being online X hours a day), but that at the same time encourages group play (dungeons, questing and pvp as well).

Unfortunately I don’t have the time to play 24/7, work, social life and other responsibilities take much of my time.

I’m currently re-installing GW2 and I was wondering, if I haven’t logged on for a few months, am I too late for Episode 1?

If I missed it, that means that I won’t be able to play any further Episodes until I get Episode 1?

The very same thing happened to me and my brother in law. We both reset our account passwords yesterday (trying to get back to the game) and the password has stopped working overnight.

I was able to change mine but he can’t, as he currently have no characters on his account and the reset password page asks him for a character name (he deleted his only character to change server and play with me).

This was a minor inconvenience for me (I was forced to come up with yet another new password) and a major one for him, as he cannot currently restore his password account. He already submitted a support ticket, let’s see how it goes.

Is this a known issue?

Lucky you. I finished my daily just in time, got the chest, switched maps and it was gone. So no chest for yesterday daily even though I finished it on time.

This was indeed really helpful. I was dying a lot and this guide helped me understand better how the combat works and how to stay in control of the fights.

Hello all. I just made a Thief and oh boy, it’s so much fun! I’m loving jumping in and out of combat, dodging and vanishing all the time. However, I still unsure which two weapon set should I pick.

Here is what I would like for this character:

• I want to be as untouchable as possible (of course, within the normal limitations)
• I much rather be durable than glass cannon, although I love dealing damage too
• I would like be to be useful in both PvE and PvP (for now, I’ll focus on PvE only)

I liked quite a log pistol / dagger, but I’m afraid that this combination will spoil me because it feels really easy to kill stuff while kiting like there is no tomorrow (at least for now). I also like very much dagger / pistol and sword / dagger (Shadow Return is SO much fun).

I would love to hear some advice of you guys, because I’m really like this class and I think it will be my main from now on.

Hello all. I bought the game a few days ago and started a warrior. Now I’m on my early twenties and I’m getting owned real bad by most mobs of my level.

I’m currently using Sword/Axe combo (tried with a Shield but didn’t like it and the extra defense didn’t help much either).

I went to the Trading Post and bought the best gear available for my level and still I can’t face more than two mobs at the same time. What I’m doing wrong? Is this expected?

I will re-roll if necessary (not Ranger or Guardian though), but I don’t that is the case.
