Oh both I suppose. I certainly trade out the utility skills when I’m in a dungeon but I imagine I can keep the same traits for dungeons and open world. But if I had to choose then dungeon as generally open world stuff is easier.
The passive from VoJ lasts one second, is that long enough to make a difference? I do like the 15 point trait from radiance where it recharges when you kill someone. You can certainly keep burning up for much longer doing that.
Am I overvaluing empowering might? It seems like a cool skill that helps me and the people around me.
Rune of the ranger…ah so when you say accuracy you mean precision. Says +5% when using a companion. The only summon I can think of are the spirit weapons which I didn’t think people liked very much.
Something like this looks doable: http://intothemists.com/calc/?build=-7;4RFV10K3NG-90;9;5T-9T;159A;11;0589;9;5FvcFp
I just thought the dodge heals were pretty cool, though they aren’t mandatory. Fiery wrath sounds cool and all, I just don’t know how consistently I can keep the enemy burning to get that extra damage.
I want to spread my 70 points between those 3 lines, but there are so many good traits that I’m not sure what to do.
I feel like what I have here is the minimum I want: http://intothemists.com/calc/?build=-7;4RFV10K3NG-90;9;5E-9J;15;31;058;9;6FvcFi
I like sword/focus but I’m not sure about the 2nd weapon, there are many good choices. The other skill choices I’m certainly willing to change, I just like to have those two shouts there to keep swiftness up when I’m running around the world.
Right-hand strength is obviously great. I’m also curious about elusive power. The wiki says it’s 10% bonus damage whenever your endurance is not full. Sounds like a great damage boost for dodging like you’re supposed to. But I can’t have both of them.
I could certainly take a hammer and combine that with writ of persistence for easy protection for everyone in the group in a tough fight.
What would you do?
Here’s a possible idea I like: http://intothemists.com/calc/?build=-7;4RFV10K3NG-90;9;5T-JJ;159A;117-58;9;6FvcFt
I can use empowering might and combine that with the +crit chance of right hand strength. Sounds like a good idea. Still not sure what 2nd weapon work best. Greatsword another blind and aoe damage? Staff for more might?

I don’t feel like I’m ready to predict market changes based on patches.
So far it’s trial and error, but I’m still making money. I put buy order for different items in different categories and see what sells. If it works, keep doing it. If it doesn’t, try something new.
I started flipping item recently and it’s a lot of fun. I’ve been using guildwarstrade.com and it’s a great resource. You’re able to sort items and see their demand. But, the demand it tells you is only the amount of buy orders there are. The problem is that you’re goal is to get people to complete your eventual sell order. The type of people who make buy orders and the people who complete sell orders aren’t always the same people.
Does buy order number have a decent correlation with people willing to complete sell orders or is there something else I need to consider?
NC West Holdings which is owned in totality by NCSOFT.
Which is probably the worst part. I still try hard not to buy gems.
I don’t understand. You’re willing to hurt arenanet because you don’t like ncsoft?
Well certainly bombs and grenades are an option, but what’s missing is a defensive melee skill. Mesmer swords have blurred frenzy and a block, guardians can grant protection and heal, etc. It doesn’t feel as “complete” as a regular melee weapon skillset. But maybe it’s as simple as if they get too close, throw down the glue bomb and a smoke bomb. Afterwards, drop more bombs or give yourself some distance.
I’m only level 16 so I’m still learning, it’s just a very different style from what I’m used to with other classes.
I haven’t yet tried tool kit, how useful is it? Is it only used in a turret build or is it more universal?
I recently made an engineer and I’m trying to understand it. In past classes I had two weapons to swap to. The plan was always to have a ranged weapon and a melee weapon.
The engineer just has a ranged weapon and kits. So I’m trying to apply the same idea, ranged weapon + melee kit. Is this the right logic or am I trying to fit a square block into a round hole?
I suppose you could say that the engineer shouldn’t enter melee range and if that happens you should just kite them. Sometimes that isn’t an option through. Is there something I’m missing that I should consider?
