Great thread idea!
Here are mine. The first one is now, the last 2 are right after launch.
I love the new change. The dungeons finally feel like a challenge. In fact I’m surprised it wasn’t like this from the start.
Agreed, I am enjoying Orr a lot more now. I actually disliked the original Orr quite a bit after finishing my initial leveling there, but now I am having a lot of fun when I go there between the revamped temple events, the new mob density, and the fact that it tends to be a nice place to get dailies done.
Not to mention it is a very cool looking zone… it has a very distinct and epic aesthetic to it that I never paid much attention to when I was constantly being mobbed by risen.
I’m starting to doubt that the people who say this game has so much “grind” in it have ever really experienced a true grind at all. This game has next to no grind, and what grind there is is purely optional. Is it really that big of a deal that a few armor sets and a few weapons require a grind to get (if you want them quickly)? Especially when you can effortlessly get gear that is either completely equal or almost equal to it stat wise?
As far as legendaries go, they are called legendaries for a reason. If everyone had a legendary would it really live up to its name?
I have 2 80’s in full exotics (one has 2 sets), and I’ve played pretty casually since launch. I don’t see getting gear as much of an issue, honestly. I’ve never had to spend 100 gold to gear out a character. Hell, I am working to get 50 gold so I can get 2 tier 3 cosmetic pieces, that’s the only “grind” I’ve had to deal with and it is purely cosmetic. Even then I just run CoF (or whatever other dungeon I feel like running) once a day and my money slowly builds up.
Honestly, I enjoy this game and most of the people I meet in game enjoy the game… Most of the people on the game’s subreddit enjoy the game, hell they were talking about how much they were enjoying the new patch today. I am baffled when I come on these forums and see the general discussion is just complaint after complaint. I really hope Anet doesn’t get discouraged by it, and that they realize how many of us there are who really love the game they’ve made, and appreciate the time and effort they put into it.

Well, I tried it out and I have to say I love using the GS/longbow and sword/shield with this build instead of the weapon set I was initially using. The only difference is I like to use Turtle’s Defense/Last Stand/Defy Pain in the Defense Trait line, instead of Shield Master or Embrace the Pain. Thanks for helping me improve my build, though. I’m thoroughly enjoying it.
Hi, thanks for posting your build! I am currently running a tanking/healing build that is almost exactly the same, with the exception of a few trait choices, and I’ve found that my survivability and support is amazing, but my ability to contribute damage wise, especially in keep defense, is lacking, as I am using mace/shield and sword/warhorn. I think yours provides more damage than mine, and I would like to try out the GS with it, but I am hesitant to give up my warhorn’s ability to remove movement impairment. Have you run into any trouble with getting stunlocked? Also do you use the longbow much outside of keep defense?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vBJ3lUCB5I0I’ve been running a build based on this video (I think I am pretty close to what they are running) and it is pretty amazing. It’s the most fun I think I’ve ever had on my warrior, and I feel more useful to my group in both dungeons and WvW than ever before.
Can you share the build? I’ve been looking to fine tune a WvW tank build similar to this. I will probably go with a hammer though.
Sure.
This is what I am currently using. I think the person in the video might have a few different traits, and I am not sure how they are geared, but I think I am pretty close. I don’t do much damage, but it takes a group of people focusing me to take me down, and even then they usually have to stunlock me so I can’t get away. For gear I use vitality/healing power and then try to add condition damage and power where I can. I also use signet of rage if I am not with a group of people.
I think warriors can be incredibly fun if you use the right build. I am running a full defensive/shout healing build and I have tons of fun with it. In fact I haven’t been giving my alts very much playing time at all because I enjoy my warrior so much. I can absorb huge amounts of damage and provide wonderful support, healing, reviving, buffing, etc…. I also really enjoy hammer builds for a more offensive spec. It is incredibly satisfying to swing your hammer in an arc and watch people go flying. It just feels powerful. I used a Greatsword build for a while after I hit 80 and it just didn’t do anything for me (though there seem to be a lot of people who like it).
What I find awesome about warriors is the versatility we have. We can do everything from big numbers, to CC, to support, to soaking up damage. I thought I had made the wrong choice with warrior when I was using a GS build, but now that I’ve found the build I like I couldn’t be happier with my decision.

I think this is a great idea. As someone who loves the cosmetic aspect of the game, and who has already run out of bank slots due to all the armor skins I have in there, I agree wholeheartedly with a lot of what has been said. I really hope Anet at least considers implementing some of these ideas in some way.

Constant disconnecting over last ~5 days

I’ve been having the exact same problem lately. I think lots of people have been having latency/disconnect issues since the last patch, meaning there probably isn’t anything wrong on your end. Hopefully anet knows about this and is working on it.
I’m also getting pretty horrible network lag in the last few days. My internet connection is fine and all my other online games work, but Guild Wars 2 is completely unplayable for me right now, unfortunately. As soon as I log in I get major latency issues usually followed by a disconnect within a few minutes.
