you can add me to the disappointed list.
Actually considering rolling a thief now.
It makes me sad to see these. They could have done so much more like increase mobility, give us access to other conditions (weakness, chill, cripple, or bleeds) , do something with our spirit weapons, or if they are so focused on burn then (as I said before) let us apply burning on crit.
(edited by Xykris.6758)
to be honest I was kinda hoping for an “applies burning on crit” sorta change. T_T
Looks great! thanks
hmmm I must admit.. I like these changes. If these are truly what we will be seeing in the next balance patch I look forward to using Spirit Weapons.
They look Amazing! Thank you so much!
Also ya My name would be great!
If I could just get Xykris In Gothic Flames font or Moria Citadel font that would be awesome!

If you are still doing this and have the time I would love a simple forum signature, avatar and wallpaper of my guardian!
Here are some screens if you need anymore I’ll be happy to get them.
I was thinking something along the lines of him charging into battle or even just looking like he’s on the battlefield.
Wow looks Great!
Thanks
awesome
thanks! I look forward to seeing it!
The symbol itself looks like a variation of the “Symbol of Wrath”
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Symbol_of_WrathI would interpret the upper “light” part as a representation for healing, but it’s not very intuitive.
Actually if you look at it I’m pretty sure it’s an upside down “Symbol of Faith” from our mace.
Here’s my Guardian :)
It would be an honor to have you draw him.
I agree. I hate having to go through pages of things I can’t even use.
Another thing I’d like to add to the idea is the option for “search usable”.
It would be a box like the show available option. That way if you are looking for things with certain stats you can just type in what you are looking for stat wise (Zerker, Soldier, Assassin, etc.) and click Show usable to have all usable armor and weapons with the chosen stats appear.
If you could do one of mine that would be awesome and much appreciated!
Lord of Retribution
I agree. They do need to fix this however I am sure that if they ever do they would rather have Aegis take the first hit. The reason for this is probably because they would rather us just have SoW pop and deal damage than have it possibly pop and deal damage while keeping us at a 20% damage buff with Unscathed Contender.
Though to be honest I would love it if they did let SoW block first. XD

Hello fellow guardians,
as of late I have been having a hard time deciding on a build to use. I usually do spvp (when I’m not with the champ train :P) but would like to do WvW eventually and maybe a bit of PvE.
I Played WoW for a bit as a ret paladin and have been trying to figure out a build similar to what I remember it playing like.
I have come up with 2 builds that are pretty much the same with only a few differences and was wondering if anyone would be able to tell me what one would work better.
Mace/Focus
Sword/Focus
any and all help is appreciated!
I was thinking GS
AA
Necrotic Cleave – Cleave, apply poison (2 sec)
Deathly cleave – Cleave again, apply poison (3 sec)
Frozen strike – Stab, apply chill (3 sec)
Skill 2
Veil of Darkness – Surround the necromancer in darkness. Apply AoE blind and Vulnerability (3 sec)
Skill 3
Desecration – plunges your sword into the ground leaving a mark that deals AoE damage. applies fear and torment (4 sec)
Skill 4
Vile Hunger – Teleports to target immobilizing (1 sec) them and striking with your sword. Siphons life, grants 10% life foce
Skill 5
Armor of the Undead – Grants the necromancer Protection and Retaliation (5 sec) and chills nearby enemies (3 sec)
WARNING WALL OF TEXT (sorry in advance :P)
Hi all. I am thinking of a thief alt that would be used in WvW.
My Experience with the thief class is quite limited.
I thought about using this as a build and wanted to know if anyone thinks this would work?
Here’s what I was thinking:
Stats:
(W/O food and potion)
Attack: 3066
Crit chance: 78%
Armor: 2321
Health: 13305
crit damage: 64%
boon duration: 25%
(W/ food and potion)
Attack: 3166
Crit chance: 88%
Armor: 2321
Health: 13305
crit damage: 64%
boon duration: 25%
Traits:
0,30,0,25,15
CS: II, VII, XI
Acro: II, IX
Trickery: V
Skills:
Healing Signet (for low cooldown, might stacks, and Init on use)
Assassin Signet (Might stacks, 15% damage increase to next 5 attacks, Init on use)
Signet of agility (Refills endurance, cures conditions, might stacks, init on use)
Roll for initiative (stun break, condition removal, init on use)
Dagger Storm (stability, reflects projectiles, works with healing signet’s passive)
(I am also thinking Avatar of Melandru might work for increased stability, heals and increased crit chance, armor and health)
I was thinking of using this with S/D / SB and precision gear. I am aware of the coming changes to the thief class but still feel that S/D can be quite powerful.
With this build I’ld be gaining Initiative quite a bit. 2 every time I use a signet, 2 every 10 seconds due to quick recovery, 3 when I use steal, and a 20% chance to gain 1 every crit.
Due to low survivability I made sure trait into acrobatics for swiftness on evade, vigor when healing, and felines grace to pretty much lower the cost of our dodge.
The damage would come not just from the stacks of might and assassin’s signet but also from:
First strikes: 10% with over 6 init (I’ld have preparedness traited to increase my max init by 3)
Fluid Strikes: 10% when endurance is not full
Executioner: 20% when enemy is below 50%
Originally I had traited Hard to catch but I read on a forum that it has some issues so I decided on Thrill of the crime for Fury, might and swiftness upon stealing.
The runes and sigils would include:
Armor – 6x Superior rune of the ogre for the increased damage
Sword – Superior sigil of force for the 5% damage increase
Dagger – Superior sigil of Nullification. I chose this to help strip boons after the nerf.
Short Bow – Superior sigil of hydromancy. I chose this mainly because If I am pulling out my SB I am probably reseting the fight and the 3 second AOE chill will help slow enemies.
All help is appreciated. Again sorry about the wall of text. If the thief works out I may consider maining it. (my guardian is startng to get boring T_T)

Hey Necro community. :)
I am looking at starting a Necromancer alt and would like an opinion on a build.
I am looking to do WvW eventually and would appreciate any help or advice you could give me.
In the end if you want to play Hammer DPS then play Hammer DPS. They can’t stop you. If they want someone for heals or buffs then maybe THEY should re-roll. I don’t understand why people can’t just let others play as they want.
8/10 very nice. looks serious and able to hold her own in battle.
Here is my guardian.
as amazing as it would be, I can’t see it being a meditation for the exact reasons you listed…… those and chances are the other professions would cry.
Wouldn’t it be great if once you got your hands on one dye that it was useable with all your alts as well? I mean think about it a lot of people seem to buy the Black, White, Abyss, and Celestial dyes and they can be quite expensive especially if you want them on ALL of your alts. I know this maybe silly but it is part of the reason I’m not running an alt. I have black dye on my guardian (which I was lucky to get with Laurels) and would love to run a thief with it too but rather not cough up the gold (or Laurels again) when it could go to upgrading armor or weapons.
What do you guys think?
Hello Warrior Forums
Allow me to start by saying that I have never done any WvW BUT I would like to Start. I am Considering rolling a Warrior (right now I have a guardian) because my playstyle is Hit em hard and take hits and I like to be on the front lines.
I would like to ask you warrior players if you think my playstyle would be better suited for a Warrior or if I should just stay guardian?
How do Warriors hold up in WvW compaired to other classes?
Just played around with a skill calculator. here are the 2 builds I was looking at doing (I’m aware these are probably not good in WvW but it shows what my playstyle is like)
Guardian:
Warrior:
ya I’m fine with switching to hammer. Also ok noted no rifle lol. though you say guardian sounds more like my thing I only use it for the ability to heal which if I compare signet of resolve to healing surge it would seem healing surge wins, so in the end would it not be better for me to roll a warrior? then I can put out more damage, have higher health and a better heal?
Maybe I wasn’t clear enough with my play style lol. I like to do big damage and take hits with an ability or so to heal myself. If I am playing a guardian I have better condition removal but end up losing out on a good chunk of power and toughness.

I currently have a level 50 guardian but have been strongly considering a warrior due to my play style. I like to hit hard and be able to take hits. I like rushing in to battle and slaughtering opponents with a 2 handed sword. I also however like to have heals which is why I rolled a guardian. however I can’t help but feel like Warrior would be better suited in this case. It is because of this that I am making this forum. I was wondering, what the pros and cons (between a greatsword guardian or greatsword/rifle Warrior) would be of the 2 and how effective they are in WvW?
