-nopatchui also only work with VPN. The process just stuck there with no game popping up when using it with regular connection.

Try adding the -clientport option using port 80 or 443:

Gw2.exe -clientport 80 -email … -password … -nopatchui

No luck, might try waiting it out for another day.
I would love to contact my ISP about the problem, but I can’t exactly tell them I have problem connecting to location I can resolve and reach

Which likely means there’s a problem with your local CDN server. It could also be your ISP, in which case only a VPN will work.

You can try different asset server like this:

Gw2.exe -assetsrv 52.84.22.197

You can find more IPs by looking up assetcdn.101.ArenaNetworks.com. Using Google’s DNS for example:

nslookup assetcdn.101.ArenaNetworks.com 8.8.8.8

You can also bypass the launcher by logging in directly:

Gw2.exe -email your@email.com -password yourpassword -nopatchui

Tried -assetsrv, doesn’t seem to work (that cmdline never really work for me, it’s always the vpn)

I tried VPN again to resolve the asset server from it, which result in

Regular Connection: 54.230.150.188
US VPNed: 54.192.203.244

While I am able to connect and play again with VPN, regular connection with -assetsrv to US VPN doesn’t work.

I am unable to get pass the patcher using regular connection since yesterday and stuck on this screen.

I have tried resolving/connecting to
assetcdn.101.ArenaNetworks.com
auth1.101.ArenaNetworks.com
auth2.101.ArenaNetworks.com
cligate.101.NCPlatform.net
both manually and via client diag result with no problem

Current location is Thailand. I am ABLE to get pass the patcher when connect through VPN to other location (tried USA)

Any idea what elese I should do? Any other location I should do a tracert? Personally, I believe there is problem with CDN resolved for my location.

This trait activates on all targets that are blinded by a single area-of-effect blinding strike before it goes on cooldown

Tested on my necro, multiple snowballs do get the chill effects.

However, If the hit is too long from each other (e.g, 1 target is right next to you and another is far away, taking time for projectile to travel) then it won’t trigger chill.

So that effect is probably an open time frame.

Sigil of Hydromancy only have 240 ranged on trigger. It’s pretty small.

Good point on reflect!
I considered cone side to be benefit tho. Like I can partially choose which target i want to hit.

I am talking about condi reaper ofcourse.
With Superior Sigil of Mischief and Chilling Darkness

We would have 4 targets chill application at 600 range every 9 seconds.
It’s better than the alternative of Superior Sigil of Hydromancy and Superior Sigil of Ice

High Ping/Latency issue

When ping starting to reach 2-3k in-game report, it’s probably packet loss.
SEA here, having problem with packet loss in content with large amount of players (World Bosses, Meta Events).
Ping return to normal when I simply moved away from the area with large group of player while still on the same instance.
Can also confirm that I am routing to Anet server (64.25.×.x) via Telia network as well.

Thread name is very misleading, it’s better to specify the problem you have, rather than assuming it happens to everyone.

Something like “[BWE3]Unable to select new pet from pet list”, or something similar.

It’s more concise, provide source of problem for dev as well for them to see if it’s actually intended or not.

Also have this problem now, and previously

But in this case, try logging in and click play. The game will be launchable, cuz the patching is pass “Playable” point.

Edit: Might I ask where are you playing from? is this SEA area problem again?

I do believe it’s the ISP default DNS problem, yes. I did try changing the DNS to google’s public one with no avail tho, not sure if that helps.

I was ABLE to download the patch tho, with full speed even, (not unable to connect problem) but the patcher seems to find no end to that last file.

By using proxy to change my location, The dns now point me to another asset server in the set of 151, instead of 14.0.58.2 that I keep getting.

Maybe I was only able to get to that asset server that keep me from successfully patching?

I tried -assetsrv <ip> in GW2 shortcut but it can’t connect

I didn’t add -assetsrv or anything cuz it doesn’t work for me, just use free vpn service like CyberGhost or something, see if the location for your auto-acquired asset server changed or not (ping assetcdn.101.arenanetworks.com with direct connect and with proxy, see if the IP you get is different)

Hi

Since Point of No Return patch, I still have not been able to play the game at all, because the client is unable to finish patching itself.

Here’s what I have tried (Please note that I have tried these actions on 2 seperate machine, I own a Windows 7 64 PC, and Windows 8 64 Laptop)

1. -repair, 2 files remaining (I have left it downloaded to 5Gb – 8Gb until the connection become 0kb/s)

2. Try reinstall the whole game, this cause the problem to change from 2 files remaining to 1 file remaining, but still no chance of finishing download

3. -assetsrv with all of the available asset server on , I was able to ping all of them, but when i do -assetsrv [target]. the launcher simply sit there at “Downloading 0k (0kb/s)” and doesn’t even go into the actual patching screen.

4. change windows host file to target assetcdn.101.arenanetworks.com to other location in the list, no go (my ping on assetcdn.101.arenanetworks.com return IP of 14.0.58.2 tho, is that strange? there was none of that set on the list)

5. Change DNS on both windows and the modem to 8.8.8.8, no go.

6. Delete local.dat file

7. Changed language to french, let it download, stuck on 1 files IN FRENCH, switch back, still 1 file remaining

I have pretty much exhausted all the solution I can find on the web, the only other thing I have in mind of trying now would be to take my laptop out and try to patch it using different network, since both machine give the same result, I am considering striking out windows/software problem.

I have also already placed ticket #1135489 2 days ago.

At this point, I don’t mind being unable to play, but I am worried that I might miss a chance to get the new LS for free by logging in to get it before the weeks run out.

Any help or ideas are appreciate
