Pathing issues (VG, Sloth, KC, etc.)

With recent update, a few bosses have pathing issues. They tend not to detect the whole ground as walkable path and they are having erratic movements. I’m the main tank on a lot of raids and this is probably one of the issues that makes raiding and tanking/kiting a nightmare.

A good example is VG. During the kite phases, he now constantly goes back into the center and then goes back to follow me. This is causing green circles to spawn in a lot of bad spots, and VG harder to kill because all the unnecessary wipes.

Last night I also noticed Sloth having issues, we usually pull through the middle and he insisted walking really close to the wall. Saw a similar issue last night too with KC, he just decided not to follow me, and take a short stroll around the arena before he caught up with me.

Also heard that Thaumanova Reactor’s Anomaly is broken too and he sometimes walks around, haven’t done it myself, but sounds like the same issue.

Looks like after that horrible pathing issue in the new map was fixed, it broke pathing for a lot of other areas.

[Suggestion] Ability to dye underwear.

Don’t you love running around partially naked in Tyria? I know I do, but my yellow human female underwear is boring. All these exotic dyes in my account and can’t dye my undies. Sadface.

I know it sounds funny, but this is/was a thing in another MMO I used to play. Crafted undies with stats and colors.

If not, at least give us some new undies/bikini outfits that we can dye. I’m pretty sure everyone will go buy them from the TP

So I was thinking there should be a way of setting something in game, that all my /party, /map. /guild (especially guild), etc chat, should always reflect the same name, no matter what toon I’m in. It’s sometimes hard for me to keep track of all the other player’s toon names in guild chat, and the same with they keeping track of mine, especially since I have no naming convention on my toons, most of them have random names. The numerous times i get “is Toon One == Toon Two”?

Would it be possible to implement something like this?
1. An option to lock the name shown in chat to one of my toons.
2. An option to set a chat name alias to whatever I want.

Randomly teleported after reloging

I know this was supposed to be addressed a while back, but I’ve had this happen to me a lot in the past 2 weeks. The other day I was waiting for Fire Ele to spawn, I logged out and logged back in, I was in Lion’s Arch!

Same thing happened to me yesterday after going to I think Iron Marches for the new event. I relogged to get the new patch and logged back at Lion’s Arch.

Sometimes waiting for the Great Jungle Wurm, I relog and end up in the zone near the starting city.

[Beta] WvW linked server list is confusing

Well it was very confusing to me today when I tried to open the WvW panel and didn’t see my good old Ehmry Bay on the “Choose a map” list. I immediately thought you guys had merged servers, where did my Ehmry Bay server go? …then I read the release notes and found out about the linked servers thing currently in beta. I then read the part where you can mouse over and see what servers are linked. Then after mouse over all on all the text, I found my good old Ehmry Bay server name somewhere.

From a User Experience point of view (yeah I’m a dev in RL), the user shouldn’t be required to mouse over text to find out the things they want. The UI should be friendly and present the information instantly. If my current server is linked to another, Sea of Sorrows as it is right now, the list should say Ehrmy Bay and when I mouse over I can see the other servers linked to mine, and not me as a user having to mouse over and find my home borderland.

I know this is all in Beta right now, so hopefully you guys can fix this usability issue soon.

Hi Anet devs!

Being a dev myself I know this is something we rarely hear, but THANK YOU! This recent update has brought me a lot of joy.

I love being able to glide in Central Tyria! This is something I wanted since the day you announced the gliders and I was a bit disappointed that we were restricted to use it only in HoT maps, but as you always do, you listened to us and gave us something cool!

Other things that I enjoy about this patch that have made my life so much easier:

  • Show All Usable Object Names – you don’t have the idea how much my left pinky hurts from holding down CTRL all the time. Also it freed up a key that I can now use for other stuff.
  • Snap Ground Target – I was so happy when you added the “Snap Ground Target to Current Target” Combat option, but as an Elementalist that uses staff 99% of the time, I found myself having trouble healing myself and my allies around me without having to now do some extra clicks to remove my target, heal and re-lock on my target.

I can tell you guys have been very busy since HoT and you are trying to please us as much as possible, and gave us something as cool as the Action Camera, but I haven’t been able to use it because of this issue that has been driving me nuts.

Repro Steps:
1. Start with Normal Camera – Vertical Position Far all the way to the left
2. Zoom out all the way – so my character is as tiny as possible and on the center of the screen
3. Press the Camera Toggle button
Expected:
Vertical Position Far slider stays all the way to the left
Actual:
Vertical Position Far slider resets to the center

What actually works:
4. While on Action camera, move the Vertical Position Far slider all the way to the left
5. Press the Camera Toggle button – We go back to Normal Camera and the Vertical Position Far slider is still all the way to the left.
6. Pressing the Camera Toggle button again to switch to Action Camera resets it again.

I would have expected the slider position to remain to what I set it every time I toggle the camera, but it only persists 50% of the time. Could you consider fixing this soon?

Every time I press the camera toggle, my Vertical Position Far keeps resetting to the middle. I play with it set to the far left, and I find myself constantly toggling camera modes depending on what I’m doing and it getting reset is very annoying. I can’t play with the default center value, I honestly tried and I can’t. Those settings should be saved for each camera mode individually so when you toggle, they stay the way you had them.

I love action camera, but there’s a lot of things that you need to do that requires you to toggle between the 2 modes and having this reset every time on both is an annoyance.

Unable to Login/Disconnected After Map Change

Same here. started happening after the update. Haven’t been able to play from 2 different computers, and 2 different accounts. Same thing reported by everyone, I get to character selection screen but when I try to login with any of my characters, I get stuck for like 5 mins in the map loading screen until i get a network error.

Thanks for the info, I searched these forums and couldn’t find anything, so I’m guessing you are talking about threads on other forums? Definitely doesn’t look like 7 days cause I’ve been doing them on Sundays and every Sunday I’ve been doing them a few hours earlier and I get it.

I understand what you mean, but given that they changed an in game mechanic and gave a very vague description about it, I was expecting to find more information. They have been open about all the other stuff that resets weekly by giving the exact time it resets, so doing this doesn’t hurt. I have my own theories from my testing, but I only get to try them out once a week, so looking for some official info

Does anyone know when exactly the weekly key reward for the level 10 personal story mission resets? The wiki says: “Completion of the level 10 racial story (Only once per week per account).” So did ANET’s release notes for that update when they implemented it. I’ve had heard both that it is exactly 7 days after you got the last one, and that it resets with the weekly resets. Which one is it? I just don’t want to find out by trial an error, so looking for an official ANET answer if possible

A lot of games with a console have it. Even different OS versions have it (Linux, Windows) You start typing a command, you press tab, and it shows you all list of things that start with what you typed.

I would do it for commands, like /s + Tab shows /say, /squad.
Also for /wiki. i.e. /wiki Iro + Tab would show a list of items that match, like all the Iron Ores, gear, etc.

Given that you already have a DB of all the items names on your Developer API, it shouldn’t be that hard to implement.

Could it be possible to add an option to Ground Targeting to cast immediately at the target location? I know we have “Instant” which does what I want at my mouse’s position, but I would like an option to do it at my locked target instead.

I’m developing an app with the API:V2 and was trying to map the ids from v2/account/wallet to v2/currencies, and I’m seeing that i have something with a value=1155 for an id=17 which there is no corresponding currency in the currencies endpoint: https://api.guildwars2.com/v2/currencies/17 returns no such id. If i go in game and check my account wallet, i don’t have anything that has a value of 1155 or similar. All the other amounts on the wallet and the amounts returned by the API match… so what the heck is that? :-)

I’m getting tired of randomly getting spam from gold sellers. It is ridiculous. The moment I get 1 message an block and report it, the next minute I get the same message from another account, then 1 min, another account, like 10 different accounts in a row. One night I got 30 in a row during a span of 30 mins! Yeah I know I can block them but it is SO annoying, I think I’m running out of space on my Blocked list, and there should be an easier way of preventing this.

I’m guessing they probably add you to their Friend list, get your ID (Name.####) and remove you real quick so you don’t notice it, then their bots just start spamming all those accounts they have on the list, at least that’s how I would do it if I were developing a spamming program.

Usually at the point it really annoys me, I just go Invisible, but then I have a new issue: I cannot use guild chat, and people cannot easily invite my to parties by using guild window or friend list, they have to manually type my name.

I have some suggestions on how to make this issue go away:
1. Add a setting so I can enable something that says that no one outside my friend list can /whisper me. It is not too much to ask, you can do this in probably almost every social network since ICQ to Facebook.
2. Have a new Online(Do Not Disturb) mode where no one can /whisper you, so I can be online and talk with guild chat. That’s a feature IM programs used at work have, no one can IM you when you are set to Do Not Disturb, but they do see you online.
3. Fix that if you are Invisible, you can talk to your guild, that way I’ll go invisible when these spammers are hard at work and my gameplay experience is not affected.
4. Do like other MMOs and require you to Accept/Reject someone from adding you to their Friend List; I keep seeing people that are following me that I’ve never met in-game and I’m suspicious that they are trying to either steal my account info or just spam me with gold seller messages, so privacy is a concern.

Ok, for real, the thing I realized while playing the beta is that I’m a glider addict. I cannot go to the other maps anymore without jumping off a high spot and not having a glider. It is so much fun and I really see myself jumping around all the maps, jumping puzzles, etc. I know you guys mentioned this before that it will be only available on HoT content, but could you please reconsider this? I can’t go up LA’s lighthouse without wanting to jump down with my glider and appreciate the beautiful job you guys did with the new LA. Besides, diving Goggles are so 2012 ;-)

I love tempest, it’s pretty cool. Makes my ele feel more powerful. I also like the shouts, especially when all traited to do +2 might, fire overload does +10 overtime. I don’t like that the effect ends early if you switch attunement or dodge, it should finish no matter what.

It just doesn’t work for me. I find all the skills useless. I play staff ele mostly, but when I do melee i do dagger/dagger. None of the skills that warhorn brings to the mix are worth me losing the skills I have on my offhand dagger.

yeah i was thinking the same thing, i’m so used to things like meteor shower that take a few seconds to cast stay casting when I switch atunements (sometimes i cast meteor shower and switch to water/earth depending on the status of the fight). First thing that annoyed me was doing Fire overload (WHICH BTW IS AWESOME) and seeing it being interrupted when I switch attunements or dodge. I’m also used to use dodge a lot when i use my tornado elite skill which is similar and should behave like that.

Wow the game looks even better now with the new Ambient Occlusion and Light Adaptation. I’m running around Mount Maelstrom farming and it looks so beautiful!

I got the same issue. They are all at 0%, but they are all still unlocked. Didn’t try to unlock them again since I don’t want to re-spend my hero points again on something i already unlocked

I did see the issue happen on the first toon I logged on, but haven’t checked others. On my other account I logged into a non 80/maxed toon and then logged it to my lvl 80 and didn’t notice the issue there, going to go back to the one i originally logged on my other account to see if it repros.

Hi Anet Devs. As you might already know, the consumer version of the Oculus Rift launches early next year and will be used connected to a Windows PC. It would be really cool that GW2 be the first MMO playable with the Rift. Since you guys recently added the first person camera, I’m guessing this might be something that has crossed your minds before, so any thoughts on that? I know you guys are always innovating in the MMO area and always thinking outside the box when it comes to new features and would like to know if you plan to add support for the Rift for GW2.

I really see the next step in gaming being around VR technology and with devices like the Oculus Rift and Microsoft’s Hololens, 2016 will be an awesome year for gaming and what would be best that for me as a gamer to be able to play this game on that kind of technology

I play staff ele like 99% of the time. Will the overload attunements still be applicable to us playing staff or any other weapon combination that doesn’t have warhorn in the mix?

It’s not clear to me on the official post whether or not I need to now use warhorn in order to get the overload stuff from the specialization… or is it that the warhorn now gives us those 8 extra support skills (I’m guessing offhand 2 times 4 attunements), but we still get the overload with any weapon combination as part of the specialization?

I see some picks with a staff so I’m hoping that the answer to my question is that we do get it with all weapon combos

I was so excited when I read about the new TP UI last week, and it was a needed change. I still don’t understand why you give us the ability to sell stuff to the TP from anywhere and still make us visit a Black Lion NPC to take stuff out. With the new UI I was expecting this to change and give us the ability of taking our gold/items out of the TP from anywhere.

Why hide my mini? Hide others and make mine visible to me. The same way I can turn down the number of other player models rendered, it should hide other people’s and not mine. My char and my mini should have priority over all other player’s on my screen.

New SILVER Fed Salvage-O-Matic

Hmm I guess someone in Anet didn’t do some math. I mean I love my Copper-o-matic salvage kit cause it’s cheaper and convenient, but this one? Who in their right mind would buy this and pay 10x more per salvage than the already Mystic Salvage kit that has 250 uses and tbh, it lasts around a month for me.

Please fix it and I’ll buy it immediately. Have my gems ready

Being able to see the last time guild members logged in on the API (or in Game) would really be helpful for guild maintenance. As players leave the game, there is no user-friendly way of being able to see what members in a guild are inactive.

Any chance you could add the gathering nodes coordinates to the Maps API? There are some community developed projects out there that rely on community input, i.e. players go in and add the locations of the nodes they have found to a website. The problem with this is that we have to rely on other people’s input and most of the time the data is inaccurate. I would like these websites to post the nodes locations from official data from ANET’s API instead.

Hi ANET,

Some of us have been talking about how fun the Marionette fight is, and how much are we going to miss it after the Living Story is gone. We have been brainstorming on how cool would it be to have the marionette platform (champs/power regulator) fights eventually converted into a Fractal or Fractal Boss fight.

Do you have any plans of bringing this content back as a Fractal or Dungeon in the future like you did with the Molten Alliance and Aetherblade?

Huge Lagspikes out of nowhere today

I’m on the east coast too, since yesterday I’ve also noticed the huge spikes, on some maps, but not others. I also did some combined traceroutes/pings and i noticed I was dropping 25% packets on a NewYork hop and a Dallas hop. I think these might be ISP issues or that kitten Trolling DDOS still running somewhere…

Files API giving map_waypoint_hover twice

When I try this https://api.guildwars2.com/v1/files.json in IE or from my .NET code, I get map_waypoint_hover twice at the end of the JSON. It’s breaking my deserializer

Oddly enough, if I open that URL in Firefox, it doesn’t happen, maybe Firefox ignores the second one?
