This is idiotic. Why after all this time should we pay to identify gear. Never mind that we have to venture to a heart vendor for the “privilege” of doing so. Yet another solution that kittens over the player base. Typical ANET…
People who have been playing since the release of GW2 might remember some of the old Dailies – stuff like:
- Daily Condition Applier
- Daily Condition Remover
- Daily Skill Interruptor
- Daily Combo Killer
- Daily Dodger
- Daily Healer
I really liked those dailies as they forced people to understand how their classes (combo-fields, condition removel, etc.) and the general gameplay work (for example: reviving is (most of the time) a good thing).
Just look at how many players nowadays don’t understand break-bars. They complain about mobs being way too hard and if you go to help them you’ll notice that they totally ignore the BBs.
So why not add back the old dailies and add new ones like a “Daily Bar Breaker” daily which requires players to break 3 break-bars (and other game-mechanic related things).
That way, players would at least have a small reason/incentive to learn about how their classes and the game work without ANet having to create elaborate tutorials.
Agreed. I miss those old school dailies. It would be nice if they included them. No need to replace the current ones, just add a bit more variety to the pool. Requiring more than 3 might be a good idea too.
instead of asking for a redo of the UI to have another Barbie doll panel for mix and match armor that acts like an outfit, why not simply ask that T charges be removed from the game?
In some other games I’ve played, I’ve seen it done where you basically have 2 slots side by side, one for armor and one for skins. Some take it a step further by having multiple pages, allowing you to store multiple outfits. Something like that would be better because the skins aren’t actually tied to your gear, so not only are you more likely to skin while leveling, it also prevents cases where, for example, cultural armor prevents you from transferring ascended.
The simple solution is of course removing the charges, but if ArenaNet did this, they could instead compensate by making them more rare, so maybe people would actually buy them.
SWToR does a good job of this by allowing for players to purchase multiple outfit screens that overlay individual pieces of armor. The extra screens cost the equivalent of gems while the changes themselves cost gold to apply. Its one of the things I thought worked really well in their system.
I love sci-fi themed armors and try to improvise in gw2. Here is my latest creation inspired by Destiny. Depending on my mood/environment I use 1 of 3 masks.
Head – Gas Mask/Breather Mask/Grenth Hood
Shoulders – Rawhide Shoulders
Chest – Glorious Brigandine
Hand – Inquest Gloves
Legs – Rawhide Leggings
Feet – Assassin’s Boots
Colors are black/Abysss, Pewter, Ebony, White, Fog.
Since downloading the May 17th update I have been unable to load the game. As soon as I run the launcher, the screen flickers and CTDs. I have tried deleting the local dat files and running the -repair debug. No dice… IS anyone else having this issue?
Tried in vain to reach a chest in the Silverwastes. I kept getting run over by terragriffs, died & d/c’d when I tried to waypoint….
I’m experiencing the same problem. Very annoying!
Don’t hold your breath :/ its been 3 weeks already. I feel you pain/frustration.
I honestly don’t expect this to be fixed until the 7th at the earliest. It seems like too big of a bug to address in a hotfix, midweek. Quite frustrating since I earned enough HOM points in the middle of this crisis to finish the armor set I was working towards >,<
It’s been two+ weeks already. I guess pretending to be airplanes took up all their resources…
Indeed. Allow us to access the skins! I don’t give two kittens about titles, I just want the skins I earned playing GW Classic…
I love that movie! You got the look really well.
Thanks! It took me a while to find a look that blended well across armor types. Finding a medium chest piece that wasn’t a trench coat or butt flap was a pain.
After watching The Road & playing Fallout waaaaay too much, I decided to go for a post apoc/survivor look for my engi. The Magitech gloves work well for a Pipboy. In the winter zones I use whisper or thief masks.
T3 Cultural Helm
Aetherized Shoulders
Magitech Coat
Aetherized Gloves
Strider Leggings
Magitech Boots
Pact Handgun, Tormented Shield
Mostly Green Shade, Pitch & Black dye
I was going for a sci-fi-electro-glowey look for my charr engineer.
Dragons as forces of nature seems a little ‘meh,’ but the last time the devs came up with a “dynamic villain” the result was Scarlet…
My Engineer:
Inventor’s Sunglasses
Council/Guild Shoulders
Duelist Jerkin
Rawhide Bracers
Viper Leggings
Viper Boots
Aetherized Pistol
NO! It’s infuriating that They expect me to pay to rng to possible get a piece of a ticket (10x) to get a single skin – when they’re on sale. Kitten that! Its cheaper to sell gems for gold & buy the skin off the TP. If a BL Chest guaranteed a BLTScrap, maybe….
I wonder if this change will increase the value of Legendaries on the TP. Players can have the look of the big shiney across toons for a fraction of the cost. Wouldn’t this lead to more purchases initially until the skin lockers are filled?
6 cylinder Mustangs vs Boss 302. Looks the same on the outside but…
Dredge Helm
Kodan Shoulders
Inquest Chest
Priory Gloves
Priory Legs
Priory Boots
Ebon Vanguard Rifle
Abyss, Midnight Sky, Pitch, Black, Charcoal Dye.
Well the fact that my thief used a rifle with a special animation for a heart quest suggests that the animations are not tied to the char per se… I think it’s just a matter of the dev’s keeping things simple. For gun nuts like me, its a little disappointing.
An another note – it would be cool if we could select rifle (or any other weapons) skills from a pool for our char, rather than being bogged down with what the dev’s think works best. I’ve found that based on play styles certain skills get ignored. Giving us a choice would bring a new level to the game, especially in pvp.
would you believe that “legendaries” is also flagged as misspelled?
*legendary’s. Stupid autocorrect.
Is its just me, or does it seem silly that energy style rifles (super hyperbeam… etc) have the standard black powder animation? I was doing a heart in Lornars Pass, where the SHBA was shooting lightening with shock death animations. Why can’t this be the default? Why is it that only legionaries get special animations?
