I like this idea very much. +1 from me
Well i have encountered a ton of bugs, and had performance issues but I knew what I was getting into when I got an MMO at launch (never done that before). Its always like this and like somone said this was actually one of the better launches. These kind of games are huge and very hard to test prelaunch so they just fix stuff as it comes out. Especially dynamic events are hard to test without a massive amount of testing and user feedback i would assume.
Also you have millions of people everyone with a different confiugration, and you gotta get a game to work on every single one. Sounds like a hell of a job! Its impossible to test and work out every scenario pre launch.
I stll enjoy the game so much that I don’t mind.
Like all MMOs i would guess in a year this will be whole different game.

Kudos from me too, keep up the good work
Nvidia 660 ti, intel i5 2320 3 ghz, I think I should be getting better performance

At that low resolution you are passing most of the work to your Cpu which isn’t particularly strong. Why did you even get a 660Ti for that resolution?
A 150€,- CPU for GW2 “isn’t particularly strong”, there is something seriously broken with GW2 than. Also what exactly means “passing most of the work to your Cpu”, what has the resolution to-do with “passing” GPU work, if u cap to vsync anyway.
PS: Just noticed your sig “3930k@5Ghz” oki a kitten kid, this explains why. So yes u can “solve” the GW2 crappy engine performance, by throwing excessive money at a problem, which should not exist in the first place.
Ha Ha Ha, haven’t been called a kid for 30years but thanks anyway. The lower the resolution you run, the more work your Cpu has to do because the gpu has to render less pixels & there is physically less on screen.
This is also misinformation, where do you even get an idea like that?

This is a great CPU, why spread misinformation?
Ok here’s my report after todays patch.
I logged in today for a few minutes after the patch and had a healthy and stable 45FPS averege. Before my FPS was all over the place for weeks usualy in the 5-25 range while questing. Now did a 30 minute session, FPS was also stable. Tried story mode – also stable and good. Im gonna try dungeons where i had less then 10 fps a lot of the times in the evening to see how thats going.
They havent really relased anything in the patch notes to hint that performance will be better
except for the LOD fixes and sound bug fixes, so dont know what is it but for now its much better and hope it stays that way.
One month later, still having performance issues
I Already gave my dxdiag before.
For some reason dungeons are the worst for me. I would expect them to perform the best, but I get 5-10 FPS. Everything else just varies. Sometimes i get 40-45 FPS outside, other times i could be standing in cave and near a wall with nothing going on and still get 5-9 FPS.
Actually RMBPs are pretty powerfull, no reason why they couldn’t handle the game. They come in variations with i7 CPUs and pretty good GPUs

Don’t know found those here, its a bit confusing if you ask me, you’re right those might be GW1 reqs. But why put them in a GW2 supprot page listing the reqs.
These are the system requirements ANet lists, so its not a hardware problem:
Guild Wars Recommended PC Requirements:
Windows® XP/Vista/7
Intel® Pentium® III 1 GHz or equivalent
512 MB RAM
CD-ROM drive (required for installation from physical editions only)
5 GB available hard disk space
ATI® Radeon® 9000 or NVIDIA® GeForce™ 4 Ti Series graphics card with 64MB of VRAM
16-bit sound card
Broadband Internet connection
Keyboard and mouseThis is not the minimum specs for Guild Wars 2, that looks more like the specs for Guild Wars the original game)
the minimum specs for guild wars 2 are:
Minimum System Requirements*
- Due to potential changes, system requirements may change over time, and you may be required to upgrade your current system (or obtain a new system) to continue to play the game.
Windows® XP Service Pack 2 or better
Intel® Core™ 2 Duo 2.0 GHz, Core i3, AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 or better
2 GB RAM
NVIDIA® GeForce® 7800, ATI Radeon™ X1800, Intel HD 3000 or better (256MB of video RAM and shader model 3.0 or better)
25 GB available HDD space
Broadband Internet connection
Keyboard and mouse(also remember thats the minimum meaning what your need to run this game on ultra low settings at about 30fps.)
From my experiencepeople tend to exagarate when hardware comes to mind. Of course somone cant play on anything less then a stable 60fps, while others are fine with 20+ or 25+ (me). But the fact holds that a sandy bridge i3 is still a pretty decent piece of hardware for todays needs even though a i5 and i7 outpower it severeal times and cost more. Games demand for hardware power doesnt grow as much these days in the way it use to 7-10 years ago. This machine can play anything else like Skyrim or L.A. Noire on mid to high settings. And this games recommended hardware (not minimum!) is a 1 Ghz Pentium 3 and a Old GeFroce 4 Ti GPU.
As for the dxdiag. I think it will always show Intel there. Thats how the hardware woks. It always display the picture through that hardware. When it has the need for the dedicated GPU it buffers it inside, transfers it to the Intel and then shows the picture. Its always actually using the Intel.
It has a control panel which shows which program is in use of the dedicated gpu and it shows guild wars there. I check it when I get hiccups first. Of course maybe it still has some issues even with that and that could be different story that needs even newer drivers. But I’m gonna need an ANet response for that
As for the last post thank you. I didnt open the crashing post. And to the admins sorry if this thread is a duplicate. I hope the issue gets fixed so i can play normal.
my card is the problem
The 9000 series cards recommended by ANet are 7 generations older than yours.
The Counting Went 9xxx then xxx then 1xxx, al the way to todays 7xxx.
So unless you have malfunctioning hardware, your specs shoud be fine to run the game.

Hello,
I bought the game about 10 days ago, and have had a terrible play experience. My computer is a Core i3 2310M laptop with 8GBs of Ram, and an Nvidia 540M 1GB GPU. Its not the greatest gaming machine, but it can run almost every game on mid to high settings. Everything over 25FPS is playable and fine by me. Normally my FPS varies between 15-25, but any action like fighting (no other players on screen, just me) causes it to drop to 3-10 FPS. When these issues happen, my graphics settings dont matter, i can set it to any level of detail and resolution and its all the same. Also take note that this is not always the case. A few days ago I had a stable 30FPS for the whole evening. Even WvW was fairly playable. But the days after that, today included its just unplayable. I entered AC instance, and in fight with team of 5 and one mob i Get 2-5 FPS.
Since I write reviews for PCs and laptops for a magazine, I’ve tried it on a few other machines. On a lower speced ultrabook with integrated graphics that benchmarks and runs other games much worse then mine i can get a stable 25-30 FPS.
My machine is setup just fine and everything is ok with it (freshly reinstalled OS even), I’m sure of that. My PC has an nvidia optimus system but it’s using the Nvidia GPU for the game, i checked that first, if thats what you’re thinking may be the problem.
My dxdiag is attached below, drivers for GPU are latest nvidia beta, stock gave no better performance.
It would be nice to get a real status update from ANet on this. As many pepole seem to experience these kind of problems, and I’m yet to see it mentioned in the daily updates, game news or on their social media pages
