IMO professions and combat are shallow

Players new to Guild Wars might not know this but Guild Wars 1 had hundreds of available skills per profession, which coupled with a Sub Profession, amounted to dozens upon dozens of dedicated Builds ans ways to play any given profession.

But it did not have them all since day 1, it took a while, several expansions and patches later to get them, so i wouldn’t get all worked up about your idea of a ‘Limited’ skill set, because another interesting bit is that GW1 had only 8 slots for skills when you have 15 in GW2 and they already announced the introduction of new utility skills and the possibility of having all professions have access to All weapons in the game, which would increase the overall skill count for everyone.

Lastly, I think you are referring to Non-Dungeon related PvE content only, when you say you can kill anything only using #1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,Dodge Roll.

They call those trash mobs for a reason, and i don’t see why anyone would compare them with endgame content. I played Final Fantasy XI for 8 years and that game had areas that you literally could not walk around in because the mobs would tear 3 new kitten holes in you before you hit the ground. We had spells like Invisible, Sneak and Deodorize to get around in those areas and i gotta say IT WAS NOT FUN, there’s a saying in that game about it, “Final Fantasy 11, The only game where a lvl 99 player can get his kitten kicked by a bunny”

If you want to be challenged do challenging things Fractals, Dungeons like Arah, WvW or even sPvP. I guarantee you cant get around just pressing 1’s in those.

The problem with rewarding Achievement points

The point system is fine and by no means broken…
If you decided to take time away from Every other thing in the world to make a legendary skin then that is your decision, you can have those 5 points and a badge in your character choosing screen.

I for one have been busting kitten doing Dungeon, JP’s,getting all crafts to 400, Maxing weapons and getting those skills, tittles, maps and every OTHER thing this game has to offer why should my time be less worth it then yours?
A friend of mine just got his Legendary and his points are not as high as mine (by quite a bit) but i have grown more knowledgeable about most aspects of the game over all so why should he get a boost in Ach. Points if i am a better gamer then him over all? because he got one weapons skin on me?… Listen to yourself

The points can be accumulated in a number of ways just like Gold, and just like gold it will always fall on the fastest most efficient way.

I’ve seen that before, they also use that to farm mining points.
You would get to the mining point then you see a random character pop up and mine it then it just poofs like he ported but he doesn’t port a yards away he just vanishes completely. I know it has to be automated because of the time it takes him to pop>Mine>depop it’s so fast.

I have 3 Charr characters, one for each legion and I decided to model them after our own big cats in the real world just because they are(all horns aside) feline.

The first one from Iron Legion, Ghrom the Cold a Necromancer all black like a Jaguar or Panther.
The second serving Blood Legion Roh the Unmoved a Guardian a white hair black striped tiger look.
The third is a Ash Legion Thief Briarius the Unseen a light and dark brown model Lion type.

Are Zerk Warriors that much better in CoF P1?

I was a career Dark Knight in FFXI for 8 years and if that thought me anything about Glass Cannons is that the worst damage dealer is a dead damage dealer.

I would not recomend Zerk to anyone that hasn’t mastere.d the dodge/kite/gtfo way of playing. Your just going to agravate yourself and your group. So my answer is a Yes and No.

Not sure if there’s a setting i haven’t found but red circles don’t register on my screen.

Anyone know if there’s setting to turn those off and on?

Am i the only one that understands he didnt just drop 1-2k gold one day? common sense tells me hes referring to a lifetime of trying and i can understand how anyone can slowly just trow stuff at the Mystic Toilet little by little until you realize its been a little too much by now…
I personally have thrown hundreds worth of rares and exotics by now with no luck, I can just say not keeping track of exactly how much helps me ><!

How about you start by killing everything in the path as it was intended, instead of just running past it? I know right? crazy idea but it might just make it more difficult to do in 10-15min…
Its so ironic that you complain that its so easy and the examples you make make use of unintended game play mechanics.
Go be a running hero in some harder dungeon if this is not your cup of tea please.

I’ve had a lot more success with the Black lion Kits then with the Masters ill go as far as to say that i have noticed and increase in the amount per salvage too.

I notice per salvage with Lion kit usually 1-3 with Masters its usually 0-1 very rare 2-3
My experience with over 20 rares at a time each.

I played FFXI 2001-2010 a “Legendary” weapon back then took you around 2-3 years to make(Before Dynamis Revamp & Abyssea) you just had to work hard at it do the events twice a week and save, save save save.
I find it annoying that these so called Legendary weapons have Luck attached to them, so many people stuck on the Precursor and i guess i understand why people would rather get it by crafting it then by just Buying it, that alone should get a special tittle or something because anyone can dish out Gem money and get the precursor but it takes a different kind of player to try your luck for that extra cred…
And being able to sell precursors makes even less sense if you dont want to cultivate Bots and a Gold Buying community imo….

Reflect would be nice for Spectral Wall! even with long cool down :O
In GW1 i rarely ran from a Mele and since Necro have the habit of cutting themselves i don’t see why we have to run in circles all the time.

I enjoy running and dodging but kitten i miss Insidious Parasite so much lol ><

Gold Sellers controlling Precursor market

in Black Lion Trading Co

Zeid Valentine.2603

I would expect that gold sellers don’t list their legendaries. They don’t give a rat’s right buttock about getting gold that way – they have bots for that. They care about being able to SELL YOU a Legendary for real cashey money. Having their stock exposed to being bought in-game for worthless gold or just losing the listing fee when a real money order comes in and they need to take it down to fill it is just stupid for them.

Buying up all but a small number of legendaries/precursors drives the prices through the roof and allows them to charge more USD for the much larger number of precursors/legendaries that they are not listing.

Say there are 50 of The Lover in the market for a 100 gold each. You can buy all of them, relist five of them 500g each and buy up any new items that enter the market (while simultaneously posting phony buy orders to force the price to remain high). This allows you to charge 3-5x more USD for the 45+ copies of The Lover that you AREN’T listing.

Now do you see why it makes loads of sense for these gold farms to try and dominate the precursor market?

That’s exactly how RMT used to do it in FFXI , there is no reason to believe they dont the same thing here.
Lets face it, most players who put their precursors or legendary weapons on the TP dont care about that because in their minds it helps them make some extra gold too

Molten and Destroyer Cores

Mount Maelstrom Destroyers drop Destroyers cores not Lodestones.

2 Destroyer cores + 1 Crystalline Dust + 1 Crystal + 1 Elonian Wine = 1 Lodestone.

I have to say though, the drop rate on the cores is very very very very veeeeery low…
on a typical 2-3hr run i get 1 sometimes 2 and i have over 150% Magic find gear+food.

Tarr Geargrind I give 9/10 it fits very well with the charr lore.

My Charr is called Ghrom the Cold. He is not only known to be cold for his chosen Necromancer profession but also for the precision in which he plans his warbands attacks, the Iron Legion demands nothing less then that.

I am Ghrom The Cold. Iron Legion Necromancer.
I decided he was going to be proud, ferocious, militaristic and a cold calculating predator which i think are the Charr’s best attributes and a mayor part of their culture.

“Victory at any cost.”

I had no problem with the Black Citadel i never even thought of it as any kind of hard or “Frustrating” i just ran around stopped then looked around when i was doing it…

Seriously i believe its the best made city in the game just because its so original and new steam punk or not i like the style and the history in its construction its a real testament to a very proud race of Do or Die warriors.

I thought Rata Sum was original and cool too but then i couldn’t Auto-run while checking the map with out falling to my death and the fact that everything is layered on top of everything was a bit confusing…

For the Devs: Necromancer Minion Master suggestions/Ideas.

in Necromancer

Posted by: Zeid Valentine.2603

Zeid Valentine.2603

My ideas might be a bit drastic but in light of the big change with Dervish back in GW1 i dont think that changing the play style of a job is too out of the question for the people as well as the Devs .
So with that in mind, my ideas affect the “Minion Master” side of the Job which is in my opinion the most original and job defining trait of it.

I propose they remove All current minion skills and make “Flesh Golem” a utility skill and bring “Aura of the Lich” back as an Elite skill so u can spam minions with out taking up utility slots.
Make “Aura of the Lich” High recast and have it summon 1 bigger Bone Minion per cast(not small rats) and tie the amount of minions summoned to the Death Magic Trait points.

The current minions look great so maybe you can tie them into the Trait Point Rank as a bonus Like this:

Death Magic points: 10 Adept. You summon 2 Bone Minions(Undead Rats Explode when at 5% HP) after using “Aura of the Lich”.

Death Magic points: 20 Master. You summon a Bone Fiend(range and 5% chance to immobilize foes with its attacks) after using “Aura of the Lich”.

Death Magic points: 30 Grandmaster. You summon a Shadow Fiend(5% chance to blind foes with its attacks) after using “Aura of the Lich”.

To prevent large amounts of minions perhaps the trait points can also regulate that by being able to summon only 3 at 10 4 at 20 and 5 at 30 death Magic trait points.
All of the bonuses to minions you get from Major Trait Slots should be already active in my opinions because the minions are severely underpowered as it stands.
After tweaking the AI a bit and all of the above it would make Minion Master a more reliable build.
Please excuse me if i am being too specific with the suggestions, I love the Necromancer job a lot and i don’t see myself not doing it ever, so keep up the good work over there in Anet!
