Shadow fiend- can cast action ability mid-stomp gives a 3 second blind and 10% life force problem solved
If you use the flute and are you are using Runes of Lyssa and you hit #6 you will receive a random boon and like whys when you hit #0 to leave the flute state you will receive all boons for 5 seconds(plus boon duration) and you still have still have access to your elite. doesn’t seem work in combat but can be done right before a engagement (of course doing so activates the ICD of the rune)
The ONE of general play styles for the necro’s spite tree (necro’s power / condition duration tree) is as you wither your opponent down and become more and more and more over powering with traits like Close to death (Increases damage by 20% to enemies below 50% health) and chill of death (rip 3 boons off your enemies and chill them when they reach 25% hp). with these trait set it encourages drawn out dragged out engagements where you slowly widdle them down and you progresively get stronger as the fight drags out BUT with this type of play style you need be able to survive extended periods of time.
Now many people are probably screaming "death shroud you Newb XD " and yes it is a great tool but it has its limits and yes u can absorb a lot damage with it but even so a necro cant spend his/her whole life in death shroud and we will take damage and enless they are using a potato its going be damage we will need to recover at some point
So here is what a necros options for life regen. our heal skills which its fair say we can’t depend on due to cooldowns and then there is siphoning and its our only real constant way to regen life so lets humor the fact that siphoning was magicly a viable way to heal ones self and dont get me wrong there are great examples of times when u look and siphoning and it looks just OP but these builds require so much investment into blood magic tree that even thinking about taking 20 into spite leads to poor build synergy and to make CtD and CoD traits usefull is…. a Chore a 30-0-0-30-0 (10 extra) trait line for max siphon and have the traits to make the build talked about earlier is fail just not enough survive ability in it ( i know build i gave is garbage but its for example)
now many people will still take CtD cause lets face 20% extra damage is great! but i dont think the A-net intended the trait be solely for berserker/berszerker-ish builds
I’m not going pretend to be great at balance or creating a balanced game and i know they have stated they want to make changes to the class as of last state of the game but the real issue with the class is not the mediocre damage or lack of any true form of mobilty (besides deathshroud 2 that’s my baby) but we are giving up all these things mobility, damage, range, and we get debuffs an aoe up the wazoo and we have a solid condition build but we lack the survivability of those others and if they can’t figure a way to make necro more sustain friendly then rework the skills that require necro to be in the fight for extended time
(deep breath) IMO the build required to make this attrition oriented class is just to far down some of the trees to be effective. I don’t need/want this massive op healing ability but something little more then 25 hp per hit un-traited (going off the wiki) when its not out of possibility for necro push easily into 20k hp maybe something with a toon with a solid amount of healing power heals in the 200-600 range.
I brought up two point here
1. the traits for sustainability skills are to far down the tree to allow you to also take the skills that would help you wither down your enimies do you guys agree? do i need go back drawing board
2.Siphoning is i need of a buff what would you guys like see done?
With no real goal in mind it hard to answer your question but in general gameplay i prefer a high condition necro with high crit chance and get as many crit procs that i can that i deem to be useful but like i said with no real goal in mind its hard to answer

i have been playing ( and enjoying) my necro but some things just don’t fall into place when creating a build that said i believe some players envisioned certian things when they were creating their necromancer . through out this post im gonna be looking into some builds that are evident they should be adjusted or just taking a closer look at why they dont work as well as some of us would hope.

I would like to add before i start that they’re many different ways to set up your build and the examples i am using are solely my personal way of setting up the build i will try include multiple set ups but these are my preferences on traits

the Minionmancer works its fun for leveling but it doesnt shine in a game where action and moving around are nearly always necessary their mech. is to simple and unskillful for them but as strong as a contrip ele. in all honesty if u look at any other class lets use warrior for example if u spec solely for banners sure you will do “okay” but you have better options to use its the same idea here. if u spec solely into minions u are sacrificeing so many other options with that said i am a big fan of minions but if u have minions you need treat them as minions not pets my point is if one dies so what? abuse them run them off cliffs not a big deal. use them to be expendable

This is a build i have been working on lately main goal of this build is to bring down the overall effectiveness of your opponent via chill, weakness and boon removal (possible poison still deciding) an bring them down to a powermancers level of play which is underwhelming compared to other classes but if u can get chill weakness and boon convert/removal off on any class really they become about as scary as a potato that said with the cooldown timers on some of necro abilitys anything past a 1v1 is nigh improbable of victory on pve side of things works amazing no complaints from me
