What if this was a feature in World Vs. World:

When one the servers gets so far ahead that they have reached a threshhold where the two other servers mathematically can’t catch up, the match ends with them as the victor, and the maps all reset.

The same 3 servers still fight it out until the end of the week, but with the orbs reset and the keeps reset, at least there will be interesting battles again for a day or two.

@Bunzy could be! Were you in a Free Tournament Khylo match 2 nights ago? IIRC, it was a close match where our team lost 400 to 500 or something like that. 2nd place win is always such a bittersweet thing when the final match is that close!

And yeah, thanks guys who are posting now – I make no claims as to the high end status of an elementalist, I’m really new to the class. After I’ve played it for a couple weeks, I’ll have the experience to weigh in on if they’re OP or UP. All I know is there is defintely a steep learning curve – but I really enjoy the playstyle because it’s very dynamic.

I think elementalists are kinda like Zerg in SC2. A situation where a buff to make it easier for newer players would make the veterans and experts simply OP. So it puts Arenanet in a tough spot.

In any case, Now that I’ve found a class whose playstyle fits with me so well, I’m content & patient enough to get my practice in, have fun, and roll with any buffs or nerfs Elementalists get in the future.

Hey Bsquared, yeah the trolls gonna troll – I don’t mind, let em. Didn’t make any claims as to whether the class was OP or UP, just that it was fun, and I had a blast playing it.

And yes, in that dueling video, of the first day I’m playing the class… I’m not going to be pro at it. Never claimed to be pro either, just that I had fun.

On the guardian – yeah, of course I couldn’t kill the guardian, Sub in that spec is designed for that. But you notice he couldn’t kill me either

And yeah, I could post a video of me pwning noobs with it in puggy structured randoms, but that’s silly. Of course it’s easy to pwn noobs. Once I’m good enough at the spec to get the Ele on our tourney team, I’ll post some vids of that.

Meanwhile, I invite the people trolling me in this thread to duel – go ahead and add me to your friends in game and put your money where your mouth is! I’d love to fight you and learn from you I’ll even post the video to youtube so everyone can see how well you do, win or lose!

Build was 30-0-10-20-10, cantrip/might/fire/D/D spec. honestly don’t give a flip if you believe me or not, just wanted to put my .02 in and say that I was having a ton of fun. You can see me practicing it for the first time in my dueling video on youtube uploaded this morning if you want to see it in action.

Was running tournaments with the guild a couple days ago, and all of sudden there were kitten elementalists on the scene. These guys were running D/D and just rocking.

Was very impressed as usually when I see an Ele in sPvP I’m like “wow free kill!”

But these guys were kicking somekitten pulling off 10k flame grasps, with a cantrip/might build.

So last night I decided to find the spec and try it out.

And holy crap, I love the elementalist. I’m just plain in love.

Arenanet – please don’t make any drastic changes. I’m still just barely learning but this D/D build has got to be the most fun in PvP I’ve played. (And I’ve played a lot of classes extensively in sPvP, Mesmer, Engy, Necro, etc)

There’s just so many abilities to hit, so many combos to do, you’re constantly hitting at your enemy with different things and it’s just so much fun compared to the other classes I’ve been playing.

I’ll get some tourney videos up to show you guys how good they can be ASAP. Right now I’m still learning and have just played him in structured randoms and in some dueling,, but yeah. More to come!
