I haven’t posted in this thread for a while, because I haven’t been playing the game.

Last time I heard from Support, they told me that the problems I was experiencing with Paypal transactions not working properly wasn’t actually their fault, it was Paypal’s fault and they could “prove it”. They didn’t explain how they reached this conclusion or how they could prove it, though. I thought this sounded like a load of rubbish, but sent Paypal an email about it. Not surprisingly, they didn’t know why GW2 failing to start a Paypal transaction was their fault and I had no proof to give them, so I left it at that.

I popped back in GW2 for Halloween to see if anything had improved, but no, it’s the same old thing still. A lot of racist user and guild names around (despite people reporting it), rampant botting, Paypal still doesn’t work, and utterly worthless support.

You genuinely do not care at all, do you?

I’m actually going to give up on this now. Support have stopped responding to me, the FB page is a waste of time, and coming back to this thread hoping for a solution is starting to get depressing. I can’t buy any gems with Paypal, my mailbox is so empty there’s an echo in there, I refuse to use a credit card when the system (and Support) is so unreliable.

I’m sure there will be regular content updates to the store, as this will be a source of income for Anet. That said, I expected a lot more content “on the shelves” to start with.

I think it would have been much more interesting if the whole pet system was changed so pets were available too all classes. That would be “breaking the mold” and getting rid of the tired idea of the ranger as some sort of vague beastmaster.

Hey, I got a response! That means problem solved, right? Well, not quite…

“Can you please provide a screenshot (or if necessary, a series of screenshots) of the problem you describe. This will permit us to investigate further the problem you’re experiencing.

In the meantime, as I am unable to locate any purchase attempts to advise you on this issue, I can only suggest you attempt the transaction using a credit card."

So, I’m supposed to take a screenshot of GW2 not opening a Paypal window..? And no, I’m not giving away credit card details to a system that can’t even perform a basic Paypal transaction.

Use a credit card and, hey, maybe it will work… Seriously, this joke isn’t funny anymore.

Like some others here, I’m having problems buying gems in the gem store. The process is as follows.

1. I select the amount of gems I want to buy.
2. I select a payment method (Paypal).
3. I click “Next” and enter my details and yes, I’m entering them correctly.
4. I click “Next” and is taken to the Paypal “tutorial” screen.
5. I click “Proceed to Paypal”.
6. A screen pops up saying “You’re almost done! Please wait while we transfer you to Paypal”.
7. Another screen pops up saying “Finished! Thank you for your purchase”.

GW2 is supposed to open up a Paypal window in my web browser, but it doesn’t. There is no actual transaction taking place. This seems to be the spot where the process fails.

I will repeat this for clarity. GW2 never opens up a Paypal window and no transaction takes place, despite the message claiming otherwise.

I use Paypal for purchases frequently, so it does work. I have not tried buying gems with a credit card, because I don’t trust the system enough to feed my card into it. I am in a strange position where I’m trying to give ArenaNet money, but they wont let me.

I have opened a Support ticket about this and received what felt like a canned reply, where it seemed like the person (or bot) that replied never actually read my message.
