You didnt both win. In case of even score, the match is decided based on which team has higher sum of personal scores from players.
Since ESL go4gw2 cup is sponsored by arena net, why not just take ratings from there and determine who goes forward. I really doubt they will re-do the tournament.
Also, murre, stop with the drama, you were never a smart man, but kitten, you are making a fool out of yourself.

Would it be possible for every player to check by himself, if he should’ve won or lost specific match? Or just make something at the end of the match so the team can see where they stand. It would be really interesting. Just an idea.
I have some (pvp) titles and i never use them, and i fail to see how titles are representation of player’s skill. Also, i’ve been playing on my new character fot the last 2 months now, but since i mainly do pvp, he’s only lvl 15 or so (i just lvl him up when i have to do it for daily). Also, not representation of my skill.
In the last update they (anet) made some huge progress on how to remove 4v5 situation. But there is only so much they can do. If someone leaves once they accepted the queue, well, its not their problem. You should not blame this on them, but rather on the player that left.
Also, there is no soloq. If your MMR is so high that you (as a solo joining player) are better than the other premade team, they will just match you with other similarly rank players and you should do just fine as a team.
English is not my native language, so there is only so much i can explain in a forum post, but if you check the blog post from anet, where they explained how the new system worked, i think you’d be good to go.
Are u guys making permanent 5 man team, or a small guild, so you can just take whoever is online? If it’s the latter, give me a wishp/email me in game (because i can only play for weekends).
I have to agree with denied. Its getting rediculous lately on our server, and watching what people from guild are doing on stream is just not the same.

To everyone who is whining that TCG/abjured will always win. What is your problem? You dont want them to win, how about you make your own team and defeat them? Easy peasy.

The matchmaking system is using anets modified version (afaik) of http://www.glicko.net/glicko/glicko2.pdf which works excellent imo. The only problem with it is lack of population but thats another thing…
And why are we lacking population? Because ppl at anet are just too stubborn to pay any attention to pvp and…matchmaking is not that good.
I was not playing soloq for a month or so, yesterday i did 1 match (1!) and i got ranked with ppl that were/are top 25. Yes i know this is population problem, but they need to adress this issue. Because if it will go on like this, they will just lose more players.

I’m zosek and i dont really post on this forums that often. Never actually responded to one of the skyhammer rant threads untill today. But here it goes. This is my proposal, what to do with skyhammer.
Remember beta testing? We had that pop up text boxes with qeustions that asked us how we liked the combat, dynamic events and other stuff. Well, most of you do. And as someone in this thread said anet is ensuring that most people that play skyhammer like it. So why not make one of those text boxes in pvp. It should be one time thing, so you couldnt just spam your answer and also rank limited, so pve players are not eligable to enter. Why no pve players? Because pvp players dont have good realtionship with them and skyhammer is not pve thing. Also, i feel that pve players dont really care about pvp and they could “ruin” the statistics.
I think this should give us final answer on where the community stands. If the majority doesnt like the map, delete it, make some changes, just dont let it be there. If the majority likes it, well, the forum rants will continue but anet will have evidence that they can use everytime someone is hating the map.
In my opinion this is the best way to resolve the issue, ofcourse if they (anet) doesnt have something more imporatant to do.

The problem is not if the changes are simple or not (or at least i think so), the problem lies in people that make the game. They seem to overthink everything. I know that it’s not good to just come up with an idea and implement it, but taking 1/2 year to do it is just silly. On this topic, i really dont think you will see this for a long time.
And most of all, i dont think that they will be all aboard with this idea. In the last (first?) ballance patch they actually just brought pve rewards into pvp. Their intent is to merge pvp and pve, not to make it so different (like it was in gw1) that pve people dont know what to do and will just get stomped by pvpers.

Not a good idea. We already have to much bunker builds. If they did what you proposed, that would lead to every team having at least 2 bunkers on their team. And once you have captured the point with bunker on it, we know how difficult is to get it back.
Also, on legacy map a lot of times happens that neither team captures the mid point through the entire game.
This is how i understand it:
When you start pvping you get some MMR (match making ratio). That is why when you first go into soloq youw ill be mostly matched with higher rank/skill people. If you are not that good you will loose initial games and your MMR will drop. You will drop on leaderboards to % instead of rank. Now you have to make your way up. Whenever you win a game your MMR will get better, and if you loose you will worsen it. By how much your MMR rises or drops depends on the opponent. If you win against a great team, your MMR will rise more than if you win against worse opponent.
Once you get 10 (i think, not completely sure) played games, you will be able to get back on the leaderboards, this is just so they prevent from people that got lucky with first wins to skyrocket to first place.

- I have a question for you. Have you ever played any online game in competitive scene? After reading your post i dont think so. In every multiplayer game (meaning gw, wow, cod,…) when you start to loose, people tend to get irritated. It happens. I try to not do it, but sometimes it just comes out. You can get on a 5 games losing streak, that might not be your fault at all, and you get angry.
- Secondly, MMR (match making rating) in this game is not as good as it should be. When you start playing in soloq you actually start with highest mmr, meaning you will be paired with better players than you.
- Thirdly, thief is in no way a home point defender. I know it might seem crazy to you, but not all classes are meant to do the same thing. Thief is best at harassing people. As a thief, you go from point to point very fast, shifting team fights in your team’s favor. When standing on a point, you are sitting duck for every far point assaulter.
- At this point i just want to say, that long time pvpers are getting really annoyed with this patch. They removed our wardrobe, that gave us free armor (if we had it ofcourse). They combined pvp and pve items, meaning a lot of pve players with their legendaries are coming into pvp and a lot of them are acting like they own everything, while we have nothing to show, because we were not getting any coin before the patch. These reward track are also no as good as they should be. And for some reason pve people dont see that and they still want to come into pvp and make our day worse.
- Lastly, when people in chat (teamq, soloq) ask you to do semething, do it. Chances are they are more capable than you, so do it. I did 1 soloq yesterday, and it drove me mad. I was with 1 engi that sort of knew what he was doing, and other 2 engis and 1 necro that were completely clueless. I told necro to wait on mid point because our guys on home needed help, but before i got onto our point, he already left mid point and went on far, where he died (ofcourse). Meanwhile we lost mid and didnt even get far. I asked him why he did this, he answered that mid was ok and he wanted to try far. After the match i explained to him (not raging or anything, just so he knew for next time) what he did was wrong, and he started arguing with me. Who made you the boss of our team, i bet you could not stand 1v1, blah blah blah. To conclude, pvp people are not the only players that are ragin, so you, pve people that come into pvp and dont know what to do in rated matches.
I did couple of hot joins right now for the daily (5v5 server) and these are my observations.
People dont know what to do! Lets take temple for example. The sides were pretty much equal in scores, and when tranquility appeared no one went to cap it. No one from my team, and no one from their. I was busy defending our homepoint so i asked in team chat if someone could go downstairs. 3 people were quiet, 1 got mad at me, still dont know why…
I think that we need a pop up in hot join (big one, and not easy skippable) that will teach newcomers what to do on each map. I think this would be a start…

a friend of mine and I got bored of pve and started doing pvp recently. We were going duo in tqueue and we picked up another player that plays with us now.
We are all college students, so we only get to play on weekends (friday, saturday). If you are are looking for a casual runs on friedays/saturdays, give me a whisp in game.
Right now this is our team composition (first proff is main, others are so we can adapt).
- Guardian/thief
- Warrior/necro/thief
- Elementalist/warrior
We are all r40+ (i’m 48, war is 51 and i’m not sure for ele, but he’s higher than me). According to that, we are seeking for someone who is on the same skill level as we are, so we would like you to be at least 30+, there is no problems in being lower, as long as you can use your build and listen on TS.

The tournament is after the patch, so we will have to wait and see how the old builds will do in “the new meta”. I like it, because it means that people with brains will have advantage with their new builds (assuming they’ll have time to test them).
But anyway, do you really think that pve team of cookie cutter builds can win the entire tournament? Please….
If it is grayed out it means you’ve gotten that same item in the meantime while you had the one equipped. And since locker works in that way, that you can only have 1 of the skin in locker, you can not depose it anymore. This does not apply to tokens and other stackable stuff.
While we are at useful commands, i think it’s about time we get the /resign command.
30 points in arcana is almost a must have for dmg ele. What do you say about that?
Apart from that, i really dont see grounded trait working. All bosses have defiant stack up once you kd/stun/etc, so the trait is pretty much a waste on bosses, on the other hand, great for trash/veterans.
I also dont see any stun breakers in the build. Its not that critical as in pvp, but in dugeons you need at least 1 stun breaker.
Does the satchel give you the same ammount of exp as discovery of other 6 items separately?
Guardian’s wall of warding can unbug him. Just cast it on him.

i checked all post for some like this but could not find it.
The skill chellenge in Straits of Devastation, the one in south west (Veteran Risen spectral Guard) is not working. People can not interract with the NPC.
