Tank Reaper? (PvE)

SO thought id give a crack at this for you. Note that i havent played GW2 in just over a year haha but here we go.

http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vRAQNBhOD7khGobTsrGwlGgeTsQNYxdwTYLUKAUyGWUvgawlC-TxBBQB6RHgWU+Vw9HQjSwAcBAAwDAwSq/QKA9UZB-e

So Necromancer/Reaper are quite tanky as it is with a large health pool and Death Shroud – its like built in tankiness. So it only makes sense to accentuate that and build upon it.

There are a few parts that you can switch out for others, for instance i tried to give you some more dps by increasing you crit chance whilst in Death Shroud as you want to utilize that as much as you can to do this you have the trait ‘Death Perception’ in the soul reaping spec then with some added food buffs you end up with a respectable 74.47% crit chance in Shroud. I took it a step further by taking ‘Unyielding Blast’ from Soul Reaping and ‘Decimate Defenses’ from Reaper specs so your shroud 1 skill applies vulnerability and then striking a foe with vulnerability increases your crit chance by 2% per stack.

Soul Reaping & Reaper traits are pretty self explanatory and mesh quite well. For the final spec you can change this out a bit depending on your taste i guess. For this one i went with Death Magic for that extra bit of toughness and life-force generation. The final trait ‘Unholy Sanctuary’ can be a life saver at times!

For the skills i went with Blood Fiend, Rise!, Bone Fiend, Well of Suffering & Chilled to the Bone!

Blood Fiend is really nice for some constant solid heals and with bone fiend they both work with the Death Magic spec. Rise! also is fantastic for general pve (Not so sure on fractals or raids though) I always carry it for roaming around. The last skill is up to you really. Well of Suffering is some excellent damage you can just throw down but then Well of Corruption is great for extra Life-force generation. Alternatively you could use this slot for any condition cleansing. For the Elite you can either go with Chilled to the Bone or Flesh Golem, i recommend Golem for general pve and roaming around.

You could swap Death Magic out for Either Blood Magic or Spite though.

sorry for the LONG post haha. Hope this is helpful or gives you some inspiration.

Yes i suppose it does. Especially when compared to other offhand weapons. I personally prefer staff for healing. But again, personal preference

Hey -

Im trying to do the same thing roughly though i am going for more healing so im running clerics or minstrels gear.

Taking the same traits for tempest & air. With water i did take Powerful aura as if you cant share all the auras you have access to then there isnt much point in being an ‘auramancer’

Also from what i have heard Warhorn is a bit pants. I personally would go dagger/dagger. But that is just my personal preference.

Auramancer/healer

Looking at making a Auramancer/healer ele probably for raids, it is just determining how viable that actually is.

I have a few variants of the build but the main concept is the same. Keep as many people healed as possible and pump out auras/boons.

http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vFAQJAoYn0XC9XiVYCOYCcYilGAz9yuZHtCFgAwEg4IUEiBA-TxhXABxq+kitten9s7EAEsygaUCCw+Dh+AA9AkC4bpWA-e

This particular build does offer a lot of auras and a few different ways to gain them as well.
Frost aura on dagger 4
Shocking aura on dagger 3
Feel the burn – fire aura
flash-freeze – frost aura
aftershock – magnetic aura

dagger 3 also gives you a leap on a really short CD which gives u the option for a lot of auras.

Just not a great deal of healing with dagger/dagger.

http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vFAQJAoYn0XC9XiVYCOYCcYilGAToAEAmAuX2N7ol4IUEiBA-TxhZAB+o+DAK/y8BAc4+DtoE0tTAQI6BIFw3StA-e

here is another variant just changed out gear & runes. Slightly more offensive with clerics gear and then runes of radiance. Which does make the auras last longer but not make the boons last any longer which in retrospect isn’t majorly useful.

http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vFAQFAWn0XC9XiVYCOYCcYilHAjYIEEaBuT2L7nVIAcAeAA-TxhXABpoDABlfh+AAMS9naUCCw+D2dBAIFw3StA-e

This is probably the build i will end up using. Its more supportive with plenty of healing and relative access to auras.

http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vFAQFAWn0XC9XiVYCOYCcYilHAzdyeZ/sCBgDwDgYIEEaBA-TxhXABh+AAdAxq+TwKDQQpHA7PY3FAoGlgkC4bpWA-e

this would be the final variant of the build i can come up with. Now power, very defensive & supportive. Boons last a fair amount more.

LOOOOOOOOOOONG post.

I recently made a Sylvari Revenant to be a healer/support character mainly using a Tablet for concept reasons. After playing her i realized how bad of an idea that was sadly.

Tablet NEEDS to be fixed. Its barely playable.

Looks perfectly fine to me. Very similar to what i am using at the moment. I just use Viper gear.

The only thing i would say is that plague sending trait is a little wasted here as you have consume conditions, deathly swarm, putrid mark & Suffer. It is a hugely situational skill. Unless of course you are fighting a boss that applies loads of conditions.

What you could do is leave Plague sending but change Consume Conditions for Your soul is mine and then take Augury of Death instead of Chilling nova that way you get some very slight extra healing which is actually kinda useless but you do get faster recharge times on two useful skills.

But again its entirely up yo you. If you find you get a lot of use out of it then more power to ya.

Just finished getting full ascended trinkets and armor so now i am SLOWLY working towards Nevermore.

The only thing i find that takes a long time is getting the spirit planks. If i had the gold id just buy all the ones i needed lol.

Condi-Reaper PvE Build???

in Necromancer

abaker.7694

Rise is hardly game breaking. It finally makes playing a minion master/condi-mancer a viable build which is fantastic.
Plus if you use it against a boss that doesnt have any adds in the fight it is relatively useless as it would only spawn 2 minions.

See this is what really irks me at the moment with ‘meta builds’ if you arent a chronomancer regular mesmer has no place at all.

There are all the possible combinations for mesmers and other classes but if chronomancer isnt in there then chances are the build isnt ‘viable’ or nobody will want you within the group.

Guess i wont be playing mesmer for a while then.

Dont think it would hold up well in raids though.

Went with Apothecary gear as i would be mainly using staff for boons and the odd bit of condi dmg.

love the manta healing idea so tempted to take another mantra over mirror images. As i mainly plan to just has phantasms out for the regen. But we shall see.

any thoughts?

Same thing just happened to me. I have spent HOURS doing the stupid thing. I manage to avoid all the sand pools and wind walls yet when i kill him the ‘Crown’ icon is still there. I get to the end of the mission and the crown is still there and i have no achievement.

I have reported it but i doubt anything will be done. Just have to waste more and more hours trying to do the bloody thing.

Never hated GW2 like i do now.

Reaper of Grenth Vs Plague

abaker.7694

Im kind of liking the idea of Reaper of Grenth more than plague at the moment – though havent had the chance to do any testing yet.

Reaper of Grenth – Still able to use all other skills whilst using elite, also usable whilst in
death/reaper shroud.
– Lasts 15 secs
– Effects 10 targets
– Unblockable
– applies chill and poison every second for 15 seconds.

Plague – Transformation – so overrides other skills.
– lasts 20 secs
– Effects 5 targets on all skills
– deals 238 dmg every sec
– passively applies poison every sec
– Inflicts self bleed
– 1 st skill applies 2 stacks of bleeds
– 2nd skill applies blindness & chill depending on skills
– 3rd skill applies cripple and weakness.

Admittedly the stacks of bleeds are quite nice if i remember correctly. But compared to your regular rotation excluding plague would you apply more conditions and have better up keep? Then just use Reaper of Grenth to add to that and apply more.

Any ideas?

Oops – meant to be sigils of bursting.

I suppose Chilling victory would be a better fit as i wouldnt be using a GS. Honestly i wouldnt be surprised to be honest. Its a lot better these days that stats arent tied to the skill trees.

Looks like it will be Curses/Soul reaper/Reaper then.

Thanks for the reply.

So i am a returning player after like 2 yrs of inactivity. Used to play condi necro, then i had this tanky vampire build. After returning i have played full powermancer which i must add is incredibly fun and a fantastic addition to the necro. But after looking at the changes to chill and poison i kind of REALLY want a new condi build.

I have two builds listed below and i’m just a little unsure as to which will yield the most dps. Both builds are the same the only differences are spite or soul reaping.

Spite – Chills inflict vulnerability which in turn allows for more dmg
– when below 50% hp deal 20% more dmg & gain might when striking.
– inflict vulnerability with each strike when below 33% hp

http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vREQNArYWnMbCN3gV3Ae3A83gFcBL+K+FHjQXtAQLIaD0BGBA-Txx0wABUCCb/hLm/OpP4oyvbq/A4dAAA-e

Soul reaping – Gain Life Force faster & drains slower
– Skill 1 inflicts vulnerability & fire ticks

http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vREQNArYWnMbCN3gV3Ae3A83gliBLuHWETiUNhpwtKKAMASAA-Txx0wABUCCb/hLm/OpP4oyvbq/A4dAAA-e

The fire dmg is very appealing and it would inflict a lot of dmg i dont know how much time you would really spend in reaper shroud especially if you are trying to keep all the other conditions up. Obviously you will be dipping into it to use Soul Spiral as often as poss.

Also with skill 1 in reaper shroud it chains 3 skills. Each one of those hits applies burning – does that then stack in duration?

Also, How does Close to Death interact with conditions? Do you deal 20% more condi dmg or is it just straight power dmg? If so then i think Soul Reaping would be the better options.
