thanks,
the stats for ascended are correct. the stats for exotic are however, outdated.
Anyone know what the new stats are for exotic and ascended celestial back items?
The old "Attack" stat shown in the hero panel did not actually represent any value used in this game’s damage calculations.
...
wrong... the attack stats is used everywhere, tooltip stated damage, raw damage output, etc.
i am sure they placed the profession stats in its place b/c they did want to add more data to the stats display.
L33T-ism and QQing go hand in hand?!?!
mind = blown
Traditionally, games that have mounts, require you to walk great distances, that require you to spend/waste time traveling those distances. Those said games then "offer" mounts with increased traveling speed--at a price--to "help" circumvent the time spent traveling. I personally hate wasting time walking places. Waypoints provide a means to travel quickly--it has a price, but that price isn’t enough to make or break its use--I’d much rather spend less than a minute to traverse any distance in GW2. Then pay out of pocket to traverse average distances in 15 minutes or more in other games.
Since waypoints are more efficient and cost effective, mounts in GW2 would there be a "cosmetic" item. Thus, the currently available in-game items: broomstick and drill can be considered mounts.
So sorry you can’t show off your Eternity while riding a gold-plated falcon while playing the Star Wars theme on a flute. >_>
Dual major stats without minor stats would be nice. This would add a lot of flexibility in spite of the stat reductions.

This MegaServer idea sounds more and more like a complicated problem than an elegant solution.
April 15th will be an interesting day nonetheless. I hope that only minor changes need be added to "fix" our apps that use the events API.
Is there any plans to make ascended items salvageable or re-roll able in the Mystic Toilet?
I and many others that run fractals frequently have a vast quantity of ascended items that are pretty much useless. I also have several ascended weapons that I am holding that are no longer used, nor do i plan to use them in the future. They have sigils that are valuable, but it is not cost effective to buy a upgrade extractor to get the sigils. Selling them to a merchant for a one gold is not at all appealing.
Would be possible to add skill activation under the target info bar (like in gw1)? Looking for that "tell" with all the dazzling skill effects that fire off when fighting in dungeons, WvW, world bosses, etc. quite literally gives me headaches. My typical playing time in gw1 was 4-12 hours, in gw2 .75-2 hours.
this was done in gw1... necros ran spirits, prot and healing builds, and out preformed the classes they were mimicking. which led to imbalance. the mechanic in place in gw2 does not permit such diversity. quite frankly, im glad trinity is not present in gw2, for the simple fact that trying to grind a monk to lvl 80 would be a quite the task. not to mention having to deal with under performing healers in high-skill content does not sound appealing.
they need to slap a price on bloodstone dust so you can merchant--don’t allow it on the tp thought it will only end up like silk scrap prior to ascended armor--the mass amount of it.
...
bikini armor or gtfo!! for all but the unisex races (e.g. asura and charr). will gladly pay cash to have my mesmer run around in a bikini.
inspired to craft a legendary...? nope! even after having to re-crafting ascended weapons on my mesmer and elementalist... i still have no desire to get one. if my original account (the one with my gw1 account attached to) didn’t get banned (unbanned after a request to delete the account) i may have considered the idea of having an idea about getting one.
on a side note, i’d love for them to either make ascended items salvageable or drop the gem price on the upgrade extractor by 95% (150g+ to salvage a 50g sigil... so worth it) or even re-rolling ascended items in the mystic toilet. i got 10 or so ascended rings and 5 ascended weapons that are just taking up space in my inventory.
I’ve rolled out a new build editor that is to replace my old stats calculator.
GW2BE Project: http://esuke.net/gw2be/
It is currently in alpha stage, as such some things like tooltip information are incomplete. I would like to ask my fellow GW2 players what suggestions and/or features they would like to see added.
Many Thanks,
- SK

I think combat in general is severely flawed. In GW1 support, damage, healing came together perfectly. Conditions helped to take down foes effectively, while well played daze, blind, interrupts, and support provided damage mitigation. Combat in GW2 is more about bash and cleave mobs down in a barbaric fashion that makes the combat utterly boring and unrewarding (most of the reason why I have not played much of GW2 in the past 4 months). Focusing on conditions to inflict damage is all but slow and ineffective which makes spec’ing into damage ideal. The time it takes to kill something shouldn’t really be used a measure for how difficult a boss or a group should be determined. In my opinion the AI for mobs and bosses needs scrapped and reworked from the ground up. GW1 foes had builds and used them--well tried hard to use them--effectively. They would run out of AoE and would switch aggro during a fight. the only real AI I’ve seen thus far in GW2 is that centaur rangers kite if you have melee weapons equipped... and whomever has the highest armor get all the aggro... bravo! Hope you’re devs are proud of this "advanced" intelligence. >_>
Spec’ing into condition damage is unfavorable do to how long it takes to take down even trash mobs and how ineffective conditions are on bosses. World bosses use an attack every 30 seconds at best making confusion all but a joke; poison and bleeding have little effect when their hp is the millions; fear, daze, stun, does nothing on world bosses (although it makes sense that you can’t fear world bosses).
All in all, combat needs to be improved so that it becomes--not necessary--but important to spread your attributes out.
That would be a nice feature to be added to the API. I have compiled a list of all/most daily reward events:

https://api.guildwars2.com/v1/map_floor.json?continent_id=1&floor=1&lang=en
Contains multiple entries for Bloodtide Coast, Harathi Hinterlands, Blazeridge Steppes, Lornar’s Pass, and Dredgehaunt Cliffs. The parsed return data then has little or no poi items in “points_of_interest”.
Condition duration do not affect daze/stun durations. At minimum you should be getting +65% stun duration. which would yield 1½s on 1s of stun.
Armor art issues:
Race: Human
Sex: Female
Class: Mesmer
The Order of Whispers Leggings clips severely on uneven terrain and/or on inclines (typically when one foot is placed higher than the other).
Weapon art issue:
Race, Sex, Class: same as above
The Ascended Focus when stowed the handle is embed in the characters leg.

I have my script set to 12 second intervals, with it running in the background during a boss fight, it add some lag. I think 30-60 seconds is plenty, 40-45 second might be a good sweet spot (this is probably what I’ll set my script to).
I made an events tracker called Siren. It is designed to be ran in the background or in an in-game overlay (that has browser support, e.g. steam). I am looking for any helpful feedback and suggestions. Feel free to send me a pm or mail in-game or via the forum (I may make a thread for this project here or on guru later).
Thanks

I’ve made a GW2 calculator for a friend of mine who is big into making builds.
The calculator is mainly for testing different prefixes and upgrade components to achieve desired stats.
http://esuke.net/apps/gw2calc/
Features:
- Equipment rarity ranging from masterwork to ascended.
- (nearly) complete list of prefixes and suffixes
- Extensive list of upgrade components (minor/major/superior runes, superior sigils, tier 6 gemstones, and tier 4-6 jewels).
- Template share/save function.
Works in Internet Explorer*, Chrome*, and Firefox.
- Tooltips are currently not working in these browsers.
Issues:
- Chrome does not correctly sort upgrade components.
Any suggestions, issues, and/or complaints are welcome.
