I can only speak for myself, but I quit GW2 because soloQ was removed. I used to play every day. That’s what I played for gaming entertainment. I value a fair game over any other criteria. 10 soloers with normalized stats/gear is as fair as I’ve found.
I’d also like to add that even if less than 1% of my matches are losses due to stacked premades against me, that is 1% too many when I used to be able to play soloQ. I don’t care about the psychobabble about perceiving this or that – fact is the patch changed it so I now have a chance to face an unfair match. I don’t care if its in my favor or not!!!
I hope other customers who would like to see soloQ returned will continue to speak up and be represented.
I have stopped playing sPVP since the update that merged queues. I used to play a few solo games nearly every day. Now I barely play the game at all, and rarely queue for PVP.
It’s one thing to queue solo and face premades if that is all the game ever offered. It’s entirely different to completely remove a game mode that customers have been playing on a daily basis with no warning.
In addition, my gem purchases over the last year were made assuming I was supporting the game I was playing at the time, which included soloQ. I never dreamed that it would be completely removed from the game. I guess I was funding its demise instead.
I would really like to have the soloQ returned. If not as a separate game mode, maybe a checkbox so I can volunteer for longer queues in exchange for a strict 5v5 solo game.
A game should always be nearly 50% chance to win prediction and solos should never face premade, coordinated groups of 2 or more. Logic should win out here. Let us wait longer for better matchups. Don’t stick us in a 10 minute horrible game just to keep the queues down, I’d rather wait part of that time in the queue than have a miserable gaming experience. We should not have to point this out, the goal of matchmaking should be fair, fun matches. Matches that are not fair, are not fun.
+1
Bring back the soloQ. I don’t understand why it was removed. It’s unfair and unsportsmanlike to be matched against (or with) a premade group with the advantage of class selection, voice communication, experience playing together, and map selection influence.
We had a level playing field for people interested in PVPing solo. Just fix the 4v5’s and fiddle with the matchmaking, but don’t change the solo aspect of it. Please bring it back.
