Im amazed people actually think ele is underpowered in any part of the game, especially pve. I can take on 10 equivalent level mobs and come out on top, learn your skills and know when to use them, get a good build and stop trying to use scepter or focus.
When I pull between 3-10 mobs I usually do Fire – 3, 2, 5, 4. Armour of earth. Earth – 4, 5, 2. By that time they are normally all dead or dying. If I took damage I just go into water to heal up and go back to fire to start again.
I like how Anet infracted the OP for a legitimate complaint.
I’ve not played wvw all week because I don’t have the patience to sit on one character for 2 hours, not being able to go into any other significant content in-case my queue pops.
The freeze effect on these are stopped by stability, it has caused me to die a lot of times.
I have noticed on Asura when I do spinning attacks such as Warrior Axe 5 or Thief steal skill from the warrior, the animation “skips” and only hits once out of every 2-3 times that it should hit, other races don’t have this problem and it puts Asura at a fairly significant disadvantage when using certain weapon sets.
To the SFR ele and warrior from [OSC] (I think that was the tag, it had brotherhood in the name but I imagine you will recognise this anyway) I ran into a over and over tonight and spent about half an hour dueling, thanks for the good times. I was the Desolation asura thief from [NUKE]
Stay classy.
The first time I played through the campaign I remember helping a norn woman finding a krait orb. However the next time I did it, in the part I think that happened, instead I escorted a mortar team then went inside mount maelstrom after killing a bunch of friendly troops. I dont remember this from the first time round so what did I do differently to get this other path?
Also I just got to fort trinity and they are talking about the krait orb as if I found it. It could be that im just forgetful and im getting the order of the story mixed up but I dont think thats the case
Anybody got any suggestions?
I have been helping a friend to level on one of my alts, he is playing warrior and he will be level 80 soon but I was wondering if anybody had any advice on a wvw build for roaming, it will mostly be me and him (I play s/d thief). Preferably I would like a build that has a good deal of long term survivability, my playstyle isn’t to just run in, burst and stomp as that doesn’t work against more than 2 people. Therefore fights will drag out for a while against multiple opponents and I don’t want to be worrying about ressing constantly. It needs to have a decent amount of sustained damage pressure too.
Any help in finding a build for him would be really appreciated.
condi ranger shortbow imo for overall pressure.
for dmg havent played warrior but glass necro dagger will be like 500-700-1000 for the three attack 1 spam
Its actually more like (if they all crit) 1000,1000 – 2500 – 4000 in a little over 1s
Id say glass necro dagger is second to warrior axe.
You’re forgetting something. The ranger can only go into a downed state 3 times before he’s out of commission completely. I agree the glitch is wonky (I’ve had it happen to me), but you can still take him out by making him waste all his ‘downed’ time. Plus well, it takes 8 seconds for a downed ranger to use Lick Wounds. Within those 8 seconds the first time, you may get him close to death. The 2nd downed, you’ll probably kill him because he can’t get his pet to heal him in time.
I think you’re looking for the WvW forum. In spvp there is no decreased health on repeated downs.
People actually use moa? Ill admit it does look identical though.
Also, tornado is very powerful at uncapping points with constant knockbacks.
1/10
I can guarantee somebody wont get it.
Bunker staff ele is unkillable.
Me and some people I play with were messing around one day, one of them plays staff bunker ele on one of his alts, he decided to see if me (burst power necro) and a friend (GS warrior) could take down his ele. We were fighting for 2 or 3 minutes before we finally got him down, all 3 of us are good players and it just wouldnt be feasable to waste that much time in a game or to kill it solo. The reason you dont see it much anymore though is because its awkward to defend points with as it has to move around a lot.
Nice so you brought two people with limited/no poison application and limited hard ccs to take down a class the relies on healing and evasion to stay alive and you wonder why you had problems?
With your necro/warrior combo you will either correctly land your cc/burst and instantly drop the ele or he will seem unkillable if you are unable to coordinate your burst and ccs.
if it takes multiple people to coordinate their cc’s/burst just to kill 1 person then something is wrong there…
Wait so you’re complaining that a team oriented game requires teamwork?
He is complaining that even with two skilled players that have builds specifically designed to kill fast, a certain build can survive for a few minutes. If the two builds were slightly less damage orientated, he can hold out indefinitely. I know because we do it in tournaments all the time and it can easily keep 2-3 people busy for a while, usually a couple of minutes unless a GC thief hits a backstab.
One class shouldnt be able to do that, whether he can damage or not. Its WoW resto druids all over again.
What class is “unkillable” for you?
What do you think is an OP downstate?

Necro, put marks under your feet, every time he gets into melee he gets hit by them.
Necro, put wells under your feet, you can turn all your bleeds/cripples into BUFFs, 30 seconds of regeneration, woo!
You do realise the thief, while in stealth can just dodge over your marks, set them all off and not be hit.
And thats a great idea, put your wells on your feet so that the thief can stand at the sidelines in stealth laughing at the fact you just used a bunch of cooldowns for nothing. The fact is that this build is impossible to beat without certain weapons and utilities. You justify that by saying to use these?
Dagger off hand – Useless if not condition build. (Necro’s have more than one viable build, its shocking I know)
Staff – Most people use this, but without greater marks its pretty hard to get you and the thief inside it.
Plague signet – Only used by selfish players, plus requires line of sight.
The well that turns conditions to boons (cant remember name) – Very few necros run this.
I dont know how people are defending this build, the argument of “If you dodge C+D they die” is false, they can just spam caltrop dodges on top of you (3 in a row) until they have the initiative back.
They heal when they use initiative.
They heal and remove conditions in stealth
They heal, remove all damaging conditions and go invisible using their 6 and shadow refuge
And all this while putting out insane condition damage, you just cant do enough damage using conditions especially to counter their healing and fast condition removal. And no class, except ele or guardian, or a necro that has horrible utility choices can remove their conditions fast enough.
