My suggestion would be to have fun leveling up and trying different things. Ranger is perfect for her as it is very PvE friendly.
Really you want to make sure she enjoys the experience, so go hunting for new pets, explore, etc.
Ya, I have put my warrior the shelf and just play my Druid and Thief. Warriors I am facing this season are fairly easy kills 1v1 and go down fast if focused. Of course there are still good warriors out there, but there’s another class that is going to bring whatever you are bringing to the match better right now.
All depends on where the fight is and your build. I counter pretty easily on my Druid, and run to decap/cap something on my thief. If you can get them with whatever CC you have can burst em down pretty quickly.
Whatever you do, dont chase them just swinging a sword.
Be like ROC, once someone finds out you are a squishy ele you are going to be focused heavy.
Ele are still the best support, if you go in with another build I would expect a lot of hate.
I really have struggles with a decent Mes 1v1 on my Ranger. I can handle them pretty well on my thief with the steal and buff and about 50/50 on my Warrior.
I believe part of the problem between the blinks, illusions and clones my pet is doing very little damage coupled with Mes being very hard to kite.
Anyone have any suggestions?
I was in that game. Wasnt trying to call you out when I stated it was 4v5 when some of our team was getting frustrated, it was just a fact of the circumstances.
I actually enjoy fighting people are better than me as it is a learning experience. Every time I get owned, I learn from something they did right or I did wrong.
There are games when I suck and we lose and I am good with those.
Its the games, which are the majority, which really dont matter if I am playing a great game or being a rez bot and the outcome will remain the same.
Been playing the game only since a little bit before S5. Really got into and bought HoT, leveled up thief and played S5. S5 was ok, frustrating at times to only being decent with a thief but a good experience overall.
In the offseason I learned to play Ranger and Warrior as options and started out S6 with high hopes. I worked my way up to high silver gaining over 200 points from placement starting point due to ending S5 in bronze.
I have played over 400 matches in S6, but I just cant do it anymore. I am not sure if it is the matchmaking, player base or what. But it is just not fun when you know you are playing a good game, doing most things right and still have no chance of winning because of 1 or 2 players. On the flip side you have the blowouts where you could probably be afk and still win, again not fun.
If considering games within 150 points as competitive, only about 20% of the games are. The frustration outweighs the few good games and I find myself getting saltier than I want to.
So am going back to pve which I am glad I found refreshing as the next step was going to be to uninstall.
This post is nothing more than a vent, just sharing an experience I think is becoming all too common.
I am amazed at the way people find to lose everyday. Today I had someone in my group get killed by Skyhammer the 3 times it went off during the game and was surprised by it each time.
Looks like a real success by matchmaking to me. Was able to take a broader spectrum of player skills with a mix of duo and single and came up with a competitive game.
Just played a few games at lunch and played against a few Revs and with one. The ones against were a pretty easy kill and the one on the team really struggled. Was a good guy and seemed like a decent player just the tools didnt seem to be there.
I know I usually cringe a little when a Rev is on the team. About 20% of the time they do well, but normally it seems like they are an insta downed.
I am know I am on point in my playing when I am barely in a fight during the match. Quick +1s for quick kills then moving on.
The biggest mistake I see thieves making is either fighting with the zerg, which is basically a 4v5 match, or prolonging 1v1s.
If you are going to main a class that stacking can hurt the team, you really should become decent with a backup.
I am fairly new and main a thief and in the off season I got decent with a Warrior and to a lesser extent a Ranger.
Not every class gets hurt by having 1 or 2 others on the team.
