I can hit TWICE as fast a lot of time when I have the bobble head, as can others I have noticed. Nice bug. Especially since my conditions apply super fast now, thanks!
8/10 Antlers and the backpiece look really nice.
Here is mine:
Like the look, color scheme is OK. 8/10
Easy, switch to ESO in April, all problems solved.
hit, stealth, hit, stealth, hit, stealth, hit, stealth, hit, stealth.
Meanwhile, opponent spending half his time just trying to re-acquire you as a target. More time spent trying to acquire you then laying down any hits.
Yup, OP.
No 5 man party will be able to take down a truely organised zerg, but what do you guys think the optimum 5 man team is for taking down enemies are general WvW gameplay? For me they need to largely be bunkery characters who can hold their own in a 1v2 situation, while also offering a lot of support to their team mates.
This is what I’m looking at at the moment, I’d be interested to hear your thoughts on it:
Engineer, Healer
The groups main source of healing, providing full uptime for regen at over 362 healing per second, provides huge condition clears with fumigate and healing mist on elixir gun. Also the chief combo man, water fields, fire fields and smoke fields and tonnes of blast finishers to boot.Elementalist, Auramancer
One of the main boon providers, gives tonnes of protection from auras and attunement swaps. Another provider of combo fields and finishers (especially with the staff in the bag for the godly lightning field) and provides auras to allies that stun/chill all foes attacking. Also puts out decent damage and can set up aoe bursts using dodges in earth attunement.Guardian, Healway
Based off the healway guardian but taking the emphasis completely away from shouts due to condi clears provided by other classes. Primary roles are ressing and stomping, along with large group heals in emergencies from elite. Provides good damage and can lock out enemies using wardings. Despite lack of shouts, another good boon provider, with an abundance of stability.I think that these three classes supplemented with a mixture of warriors, mesmers and thieves make the best set up. I hate PU mesmers with a passion, and since we’d want the Mes to actually burst we’d use a shatter. It would be a fairly typical Hambow warrior, with cavalier weapons and trinkets and soldier armor, and a typical fairly zerker thief, with a bit more defence, maybe soldiers gear, zerker everything else. The mesmer and thief bring shadow refuge and mass invis which are of course hugely useful, and while the aim would be to build some support in they are mainly there to burst down targets.
WarriorAm I overlooking Condition Necros? For me they just make too easy a target as they have little ability to escape. Are Rangers better than I think in this kind of scenario?
I’d be interested to hear thoughts from people that have done this successfully in WvW and how they managed it.
Cheers all
Our group runs with a healing ranger, he has perma regen and swiftness, tics at 380 for regen. Then he has the heal spirit elite (which is insane) and the normal heal spirit, plus he runs with the -33% damage reduction spirit. Fantastic overlooked healer IMO. He also has 3.3k Armor. Not easy to take down.
A warrior .. no need to say more.
2 Necro’s, one is toughness/precision/condition, melts people like butter. One is fear spammer.
And an Ele.
which servers are those, specifically?
and have you played on them, to have such insight as to how dead they are?
I was on Kaineng about two months ago. When I went into WvW, I was outnumbered roughly 90% of the time I was in (peak hours) weekends were worse. Being outnumbered is just plain lame. The outnumbered perk is useless when you have like 5 people in WvW trying to capture things, just doesn’t happen.
I switched (paid) to another server with many more players, never looked back. Was tired of playing on Kaineng for so long with no hope.
Stop QQ.
Thieves have become stealth dependent now, not damage dependent. Would give you many more dodges with +10% damage. Having stealth -10% damage is QQ.
When using a long bow, I have been getting a lot of obscured when trying to attack with long bow. I am in direct line of sight, sometimes maybe 10 feet from the target and still get obscured, and no damage is done. I tried searching the forums for ranger obscured attack and nothing came up. Just wondering if anyone else is having this problem. It is happening after this new round of updates in WvW.
Going to post this on this and bug forum. When using a long bow, I have been getting a lot of obscured when trying to attack with long bow. Yeah, use Guard. Castable every 12, gives regen/swiftness. Set your options to use instant cast so the bullseye doesn’t keep showing up and slowing you down. As soon as you hit guard, it will cast. I speced 10 into BM to get the cooldown for shouts.
Nice. That’s AoE regen/swiftness too, so if you have a friend with you they get the benefit as well.
Yeah, I duo with a high powered Necro. He is Power/Precision/Condition. He face melts people like no other. I constantly have swiftness/regen on us all the time. It’s a tough duo to beat roaming. His fear wall is bar none the cream of the crop for zerg escapes, that fear wall lasts 5 seconds I think if something goes wrong, stops them from gaining any ground if we mess up.
A ranger can roam with impunity. I have permanent 33% swiftness and regen. Regen is 4,500 and lasts 14 seconds, is castable every 12 along with swiftness which lasts 14 seconds and castable every 12. Like I said, permaregen/swiftness.
Every tic heals me for 500, I heal very very fast. You also have your main heal which is 7K+ and regens for 7K per 3 seconds, usuable every 30seconds. Great sword in main hand with GS cooldown and you can “swoop” away so far from opponents they cry. Use your elite skill so you can’t be stunned, feared etc for 20+ seconds. Attack is 3000, toughness is high and armor is 3,400. Plus you have a pet. You have pet taking 3 conditions from you every 10 seconds, you can’t be conditioned down, trust me. I roam all day without fear and take camps, kill ugly yaks, solo towers and harass everyone. Oh, and when they think they have backup. “Swoop” away with your 33% perma swiftness. Live to roam another day.
Are you using shouts for the regen/swiftness? Every 12 seconds … that would be “Guard” with the shout CD reduction trait?

Here’s your problem. A class has to be spec’d to take on a thief, lets face it. I have a Necro that has to be spec’d that way as well as my ranger and war and just about everything else. My thief dominates simply because they can not target me in battle with the constant stealth. Period.
When I see a thief coming at a distance, I know to switch to “reveal trait” on my ranger, however, a good thief can still win 50/50.
Now, most players in like WvW are NOT spec’d for that. Their mechanics simply aren’t fast enough to retarget and take on a stealth thief. So, they get wiped. I have done it many many times in WvW to 2 – 3 at a time, knowing they most likely arent spec’d to stop me.
Hence, herein lies the problem. If players have to spec into something specific to take us on, then the balance shifts and people complain, and honestly, I don’t blame them. I know I am a killing machine on my thief and I think it’s great and fun. But, when not on my thief, I see the drawbacks of it. Opponent being able to stealth and lose target is very hard to defend against for a majority of builds.
1) Does our attributes affect in any way our pets? ie: attack/power/crit etc.
2) I have a much easier time soloing Veterans and often 2 at a time with those tough pets. Granted, I am only level 30. Does it get harder to fight those type of mobs at higher levels?
