I am beginning to think support for GW2 sucks and they want us to continue buying their expansions and such? If they wanted us to stick with the game they would fix this or give us some kinda help.
Except its not stopping anyone from doing anything, there is no negative effect to not having this single file, its simply a quirk some people have knowing its always there. Actual normal patching itself downloaded fine, but that last file never downloads, and oh well its not doing anything negative to impact my game experience.
I’m not saying its fine that this I assume “bug” exists (its not,) I’m just saying people are freaking out over nothing.
I’ve tried all that I’ve found to fix this issue but nothing seems to work, the asset server target option doesn’t work (launcher sits at intializing 0kb/s,) DNS flush did nothing, local.dat deleted and then restart did nothing. I am out of ideas and troubleshooting info.
I have one file left.
Ever since Anet open up the forums it seems that it’s been split between to sides. People or adore the game and defend it and others who are appalled by it. I personally enjoy the game for what it is. Are there some major bugs absolutely, but are they game breaking? Not really. But some of the main issues that have been constantly brought up is dungeons and end-game. So my question is what do you want out of a dungeon or endgame experience? I’m not looking for answers like “more stuff,” healers, or anything that break from Anet’s manifesto. Please be specific, and courteous to the responses of others even if you disagree.
Clearly there are some of the issues with dungeons, especially when it comes to drop rates. My suggestion would be if a player does all 3 paths of a dungeon allow one exotic of that dungeon type to be given in the form of a chest. My friends and I miss that feeling, you could even say that rush to loot the final boss to see what he drops. Especially after running a tough instance. But to make it fair, make that chest only be available once a day for that dungeon. So your player still get that “epic loot” feeling without having to walk away with a heavy repair bill and 30 tokens to show for it.
I don’t really believe in the word “endgame.” For example, In Skyrim once you complete the main story, you pretty much continue playing the same thing you’ve been doing over and over again. So with no monthly fee why should I take this any differently? I would much rather have quality content over just spewing out fluff until an expansion is released.
I’ve always thought of it like this, If you make 7.25 an hour, and you purchase Gw2 for 60 all you really needed is about 8 1/2 hours of fun to be worth the money you spent.
Honestly, my idea of a good endgame is a combination of things, raiding for one for those who want it (I know we have world bosses, but actual fairly difficult instanced big bosses that take some skill other than mass zerging them,) a good PvP variety, and something we already have, explorable dungeons that people who to like to see different ways of doing the dungeon. I know some people may think I’m just basing it off WoW’s endgame, but there is a reason it’s so good, it’s because they know what their audience wants and they give it to them, not to mention they have had about 7 years to perfect it.
Also, on the raid thing I mentioned, they don’t have to give incredible loot, just decent cosmetic equipment that you can’t get anywhere else that makes you stand out, which is what this game is mainly about.
2) Dropping a kittenload of Black Lion Chests and marking them as fine to trigger an impulse to buy keys or manipulate someone’s OCD who can’t stand to leave them locked
Don’t blame the game if there are crazy people like that, also no the game is not designed around needing to use the CS at all, the only time I bought gems was when I had spare cash and bought 2 storage expansions, did I feel it was needed? Not in the slightest, I just did it to support the game and I wanted more space, I didn’t need it.
I’m making my Norn warrior in the forum of that she is the charismatic protector of the people, and when it comes to picking one of the 3 “factions/groups” I was thinking the Vigil would be it, but they seem more like they only care about the fight than protecting others, The Order of Whispers is about stealth and sneaking around, and the Priory is more about taking their time and doing research. However, in those 3 branches which is more about protecting others, I’m not one of the roleplayers that does it with others, I just like my personal story to fit the persona I gave my character.
I have this issue as well, I tested various weapons on the roadblocks in the Norn starting map with the Sons of Svanir and every melee weapon I used available to warriors would miss all but 1 or 2 hits and I walked all around them to find the right spot to swing at and it never came. So, I just used a rifle and literally every shot hit without a problem.
Yes, there is no reason to be specific on which story, because it’s quite literally every single story mission, there is always at least one line of missing dialog, so I’m not sure if it’s a trigger not working properly or something, but it’s not specific at all, it’s all stories.
I’ve messed around with all weapon sets and I can’t really find one I like really well, the closet I found was dual swords and dual axes, dual swords were nice but the 5th skill where you essentially wait for a counter felt slow and not very good to me. Dual axes had power, but they felt clunky and did not have the right balance of speed. Is there any weapon combo you guys found that seemed to have a good balance of speed and power?
This is mainly for PvE, I haven’t gotten into PvP much but I just can’t seem to find a right match for me, it’s usually one extreme or the other, slow but really powerful, or fast and not much damage.
It’s a problem with the audio files in general it seems, in this thread I made dialog in most NPC conversations with the stylized background all are missing dialog:

It’s not specific Seraskus, literally every player and NPC conversing face to face with the stylized background in my story so far has some missing voiceovers, at it’s worst out of 5 lines of dialog from the person my character was talking to only 2 played.
See, I’m not sure if a person’s PC problem with just too many sounds going off and it somehow breaks the audio or what, but I do have the same problem with regular sounds as well, they never lag behind but they just sometimes aren’t there, then they will randomly kick in and be fine.
I have a thread about this at the moment, hopefully if enough people say something in it we’ll get an Arenanet response:

Already made a progressing thread on this:

I would say this is most likely caused by a recent patch messing up files or something similar to how the wrong voices thing is, any input on this would be appreciated by a mod or what they are called on here.
I’m currently working on my Norn for the first time and I’m finding A LOT (like about half the voiceovers not including my own character’s voiceover) of the NPC voiceovers are just outright missing, the NPCs move their arms and such but their mouths don’t move and there is no voiceover. It will come and go like Eir will say he lines, then the next set are missing, then they come back again, very random.
Here are my Norn’s choices to get more specific on the story:
