I would support this.
I would hate to have to grind for an all new set of gear to play new content and I don’t understand at all why the new items need better stats.
Just chasing higher and higher numbers every few months – for me at least – isn’t very fun and doesn’t help Anet’s goal of making the game fun and persistent imo.
It doesn’t match the thief’s gameplay style. Having a 1200 range weapon means you could sit in the back and be lazy autoattacking- that is not the quick, dodge-happy, teleporting, stealth popping, blinding and poisoning thief it’s meant to be. That’s what rangers are for.
Sure, but maybe I want to just sit back and shoot for a change, without having to start over as a ranger.
Besides, the whole “doesn’t fit the gameplay style” argument doesn’t make any sense:
Warriors get to attack with rifles while sitting in the back, which isn’t very bash-people-over-the-head-y.
Rangers get a variety of melee options, which doesn’t encourage hitting people from long range before they can get close.
Guardians have staffs and scepters, which doesn’t fit with supporting in the front while taking fire.
Every class has a few different options and I think the thief could use a long range kit.
I really don’t see any reason why thieves shouldn’t get access to rifles other than Anet having better things to do than adding that.
This isn’t about “buffing” the thief, it’s about adding the additional option of attacking from long range that a lot of other classes already have as well to compliment the other skillsets for close and medium range.
The great thing about gw2 -for me at least- is that all the classes can do everything sort of well, not just what their archetype is supposed to be good at; so warriors get longbows and rifles, guardians get staves and scepters, necros get axes, rangers get greatswords, etc. So why shouldn’t the thief get rifles? (Provided the skills are balanced and all that)
sry, just checked: only the cluster bomb shot has 1200 range, the other skills only have 900.
So: rifles please!
The shortbow has 1200 range.
Of course I’d welcome more weapon choices for my thief and I love the idea of having a sniper rifle for him, but that would probably be difficult to balance and require reworking at least part of the trait lines, so idk if it’s worth the time and effort to implement…
I have a minor suggestion: Please put an option in the hero equipment panel that lets us sort our available equipment; perhaps similar to the one in the dye screen, where we can sort by different criteria and favorite certain items so the screen isn’t cluttered up with loot we happened to pick up.
Mounts - I bet it's not the suggestion you thought it will be :)

And how would these vehicles be destroyed when theres no arty, cannons or other vehicls around ? They can just one shot everybody they come across and theres nothing to be done about it ? tbh i think implementing something like this would ruin wvwvw and would be exploited like hell.
Make Anti-Vehicle Rocket Launchers available from siege merchants. There are already rocket launchers in the game – they appear for a certain boss battle.
I’d just like to mention that the passive speed increase is 25%, not 33%.
Apart from that, the guardian has a lot of movement impeding abilities like walls, snares and the like, try experimenting with them.
Speed and mobility are pretty much the defining characteristics of the thief in this game, I don’t see any problem with them having a passive speed boost in exchange for a utility slot.
I’ve already made some of those bags, but they take up a bag slot in my inventory and I don’t want to have to sell stuff, then rearrange my inventory, then sell stuff again because some other loot spilled over into the invisible bag.
Also, this doesn’t solve the problem of the pet disappearing after every loading screen.
Just because something would sell for more doesn’t mean I’d make so much more money. If they sell for more then the items I buy would be for more.
I covered that in a post how many more drops do you sell compared to the amount of armors you buy, etc?
Lets say in an hour you farmed 15 teals, 8 greens, 1 gold.
You sell the 15 teals at 7s each, the 8 greens at 12s each, and the one rare at around 1g.
Now, what you have in your account is : 301 silver or 3 gold.
The full set of green armor would cost you roughly : 76 silver.
Full set of full gold armor would be ~6 gold or 2 hours of farming.
I don’t think you’ve understood how the trading post works.
Money doesn’t just appear there. Everything on there is bought and sold by players so everything you sell must be bought by someone else, therefor if you put way more items in than you take out, prices will have to drop because supply is vastly greater than demand. If greens are supposed to be traded, they would have to be a lot rarer than they are now.
What I would like is the trading post stopping players from selling items for less than what the merchants would pay for it PLUS the listing fee so it’s no longer possible to lose money by selling stuff on the trading post and no longer possible to make money by ordering junk items for less than they are worth and selling them to npcs for profit.
I don’t agree with this at all. Even with multiple players of the same profession, they don’t all have to focus on applying conditions; that’s why you can swap out skills and traits and weapons on the fly. If the current group setup isn’t working well, you can just try something else. I haven’t played as the necro yet, but I can’t imagine they made every possible build all about bleeding.
Also, GW1 had a degen/regen cap at 8 pips or 16 hp/sec and if it had been any more people and mobs would just insta-die because degeneration bypasses armor (And 25 stacks of bleeding is plenty imo).
I think they found agood balance between degen builds being useful but not overpowered so other builds remain fun to play as well.
What the title says. I like having a minipet out, but redeploying it and being careful not to accidentally deposit it in the collectibles bank is annoying – so I’d like to have an additional equipment slot in the hero window for it, which would fix those things.
I think this is an awesome idea and hope to be bothered by F4-RM soon!
