So I wonder how the dual skill interacts with recharge reduction traits… does it count as a fire skill? an Earth skill? Both?
If I traited into Pyromancer and Geomancer’s training, would it get the full 40% reduction of both traits?
I was cautiously optimistic about Scourge going into this… but this has completely turned me off from it, not at all what I was expecting.
Im still learning but it seems there isnt allot of room for building around dps from symbols, I would love to see some more from that kind of playstyle.
Except nobody stands in a symbol in PvP unless they miraculously got stunned or cced in it.
Perhaps a talent that adds a “test of faith” like detriment to leaving the symbol area then? cross the line and you get stunned or cc’d or some pretty hefty debuff is placed on you.
I find it funny that people both fail to see the teamwork that exists in GW2 (lets see you set a WR dungeon time or beat a gvg guild in wvw with equal numbers or win an ESL monthly with pugs) and are completely fooled by the illusionary teamwork of the trinity system.
And here we have the most important post of the thread.
This has to be the most asinine thing I have ever read. GvG/WvW/ESL are all PvP, which has never in the history of PvP been attached to a trinity system because it doesn’t work with actual people controlling the characters. This is why the PvP in GW2 actually uses more gear sets and has more roles than the PvE.
WR dungeon times shouldn’t even be a thing. Any game that has to stoop to such an arbitrary measurement should be ashamed that their content is so unbelievably faceroll easy. That the player base has to come up with an artificial reward to pat themselves on the back for wasting their time, that game should just be put out of it’s misery.
To call a trinity system “illusionary teamwork” shows a complete lack of understanding about why it’s in place and how it actually works. Does it belong in GW2? no, but aspects of it can be brought over to help enrich and develop the gameplay beyond the pointless DPS fest that the game’s PvE has become.
I don’t know if the people in the live show are just incapable of killing chieftain or what is happening. Even if tempest is a support spec there are ways to build an ele to do damage regardless of spec. The fight with chieftain took way too long in comparison to the other specs.
Are you referring to the POI fights? I think those are a great example of why Tempest is such a let down and just how lackluster and underpowered it will be. It takes him 40+ seconds to kill chieftain…and he gets kicked out of two of his overcharges in the first fight! That alone should be a giant red flag that the mechanic is terrible.
Now go watch the dragonhunter fight, another elite spec that the community seem to to bemoan… he kills chieftain in 9-10 seconds and doesn’t even get hit. standing in one place mind you, karl had to run around on the ele like a madman.
Tempest had some great potential, but to me it feels like they dropped the ball every possible way that they could have with this spec.
vacumagic polarizer gun worked for me, made the fight go from unbeatable to trivial
