the second build will take out a camp faster but the first build is defiantly the way to go for roaming, great mobility and sustain with huge condition damage. you’ll find the link to the forum post in the info area which has the builds

In an interview somewhere they said they plan to add ascended gear for badges, but that it didn’t make it into this build. So… we play the waiting game, meanwhile my inventory keeps getting smaller and smaller.

Anyone knows if there are plans to get Ascended trinkets from WvW ? (with badges/karma)
I dont know whether to save my badges or buy a new exotic invader set.
Invaders gear = Power (primary), Vitality & Toughness (secondaries)
Best GW2 video I have seen so far.
Very good teamwork, good usage of environment and more important it’s nice to see (hear) people playing and having fun than going emo etc.
When transfers are done (late Jan), you could make a lets say 2-3 days event, where you put in the same (special ?) map the first american server and the first european server and let them fight for title of world champion 2012
My 13 suggestions (in order of importance) :
1. Place population limits in Borderlands (maybe not in Eternal). E.g. : if on Green BL are logged 30 greens (without counting anyone with determined buff) then reds cannot be more than 133% = 1.333 * 30 = 40 logged, same with blues. That way it’s more difficult for 1 server to conquer all 4 maps (particularly at night time)
2. Lessen meshes’ level of detail. Use directx’s progressive meshes or even better simplification meshes.
3. New rating system. At end of week : if (Currenttier first server’s rating / Currenttier second server’s rating > 1.20) AND [(Uppertier second server’s rating / Uppertier third server’s rating > 1.20) OR (Uppertier first server’s rating / Uppertier second server’s rating > 1.20)] then swap Currenttier first server with the Uppertier third server.
4. Return Orb system (needs exploiting protection though).
5. Improve outmanned buff to give more combat stats.
6. Show enemy full name. Maybe keep the mechanic that enemies can’t whisper each other inside wvw.
7. Increase wvw rewards (items + badges + gold). Fractals drop lots of exotics and rares, 1 HotW run gives easy 2-3g.
8. Make defending more rewarding. E.g. : if attackers get to damage the lord but the defenders manage to drive them off, then double defenders’ reward.
9. To make wvw a bit more tactical / defensive / epic, towers and keeps shouldn’t be attackable for some time (maybe 10 min ?) after they are captured. That would give the defenders some time to organize their defenses.
10. Use karma in wvw in some way (maybe buy siege).
11. Add some kind of server recognition of a guild’s contribution to wvw. E.g. : at map screen when mouse cursor is over a camp/tower/keep then display the claiming guild and what upgrades they have done.
12. Autoloot bags.
13. Decrease wvw titles requirements.
The skin is awesome.

Hello, i finally bought my exotic armor (for the stats) and then went to Mists to see the skins in the pvp locker. Is there a way to know which pve skin a particular pvp skin corresponds to ? (for example, which pve helm is the same look as the pvp drake scale helm ?)

You get very little in regards to vitality, and toughness, when you consider what you can get from crit hits. They made high damage in the form of “Precision” the most important stat.
That is the biggest reason glass canon is sooooo much better is the benefits you get from damage, most importantly precision. Not to mention, if someone is hit for 16k damage, they don’t whine as much as if they’re fighting someone who heals for 3k damage, and I’m not kidding you. It cracks me up.

I play a thief and wanted to play a defensive build (Vitality+Toughness), but after testing a glass cannon build (Precision+Crit.Damage), the gains (specifically damage migitation) of the defensive build seemed too small comparing to the high burst of the gc build – since you can kill an enemy in 2 seconds. (steal + cloak and dagger + backstab + heartseeker)
Question : “With ascended gears only being available at FOTM – is it intended that players wishing to be at their best in WvW will have to first tune themselves with fractal rewards?”
Answer : "It is absolutely not intended that Ascended will make a discernible difference in WvW. However it is the certainly the perception. Again however we would have much preferred to have released Ascended Gear across the whole of the game than in one area.
Players in WvW will be able to acquire Ascended items within that area of the game soon."

Question : “Can we get a direct, on-the-record answer on where vertical progression will be headed? Specifically as it applies to gear-checks, gated content, and the addition of gear tiers? Will there be an amendment to the manifesto, or plans to retro-actively align with the manifesto again?”
Answer : "First of all in retrospect it would have been better to have included Ascended Gear at launch. It is designed to give users a progression path that is between Exotic and Legendary (Legendary Items will be at the same power level as Ascended) and the gap between them in terms of time is very large.
So to the question of vertical progression. So as we know there is already vertical progression in the game and we do intend to keep moving forward with this philosophy. However we have no intention of adding a new Rarity of Gear such as Ascended. Instead and as we evolve the game existing Rarity’s will evolve over time. However these will not be common occurrences, for example full Ascended gear will be introduced over a long period of time and will be earn able through lots of different parts/activities of the game. We had intended for example for the first release of acsended items come from other parts of the game but sadly it did not work out this way. Moving forward this is how it will work however.
In regard to gear checks specifically all increases in the power curve will be minimal and therefore there should be no straying from the intended power curve that you see in the game now, in terms of trajectory.
In regard to gated content via gear then i think that this is something we are going to give more thought to. Specifically if the reward at the end of the activity applies to players that are not just looking to do a specific type of content. Note that this statement is somewhat contradictory to the philosophy laid out above if the required items do not drop elsewhere or the ultimate rewards don’t either. This is something we are going to fix.
Personally i do not feel that the latest changes are against what we said in the manifesto. I do however feel that we do have to be very careful in regard to progression design turning into grind and i believe there are some instances of this kind of grind that predate the launch of the game. It is for this reason that we are looking to revamp some aspects of the game whilst connecting other parts increase the overall experience of fun in our progression mechanics."
