I have tried over and over…. I have several level 80 characters and have only been able to complete it on one. I get booted to the character screen in nearly every long personal story during the very end of the unskippable cut scenes. Usually at the very end after I’ve completed everything. This happens at any level personal story, but is most heartbreaking at 80.
I can’t finish it. If I could click SKIP i could, but sadly without being able to skip them I am sunk. Some stories take several tries to accomplish. It happens with a party and without. I have firewalls set to allow the game through, my connection is great. Right now it’s:

I never leave the game at all, it just boots me to the character screen.
I agree with the other folks. Take your time. Enjoy the journey. I never use anything that boosts my level. Got nearly a full stack of books of knowledge sitting in my bank. Try EVERYTHING. Every weapon, every play style. I don’t feel there’s a “right” or “wrong” way to play. I play a ranger for my solo character, a “fire” ranger, axe and torch, but my favorite profession is anything that isn’t close combat.
Have fun!!!!
Midnight Teal and Midnight Ice. My favorite color is green but i wear a lot of black, so these two work best for me, the Midnight Ice with the hint of blue and even sometimes teal, and the dark teal. They work great together. All my characters are stuck with these two colors.
(I’m female so I usually play female characters when I play with my friend. Solo however, it’s all eye candy guy characters.
)
Wow, thanks you guys. Yeah, I think I’m gonna give it a go. I really want to see the progression of the story. And honestly, I usually play healer in other games, so Monk as a second will be interesting. I do wish I could find a good sale, but getting the game on Steam is a plus to me.
I completely agree!!! GW2 is the best ever. (And ESO…. lordy…. I wanted to like it, I was a beta tester for it way back, but it was just too late. I was already in love with GW2 by the time I finally bought it.) Trying so hard to get my daughter and her husband to turn away from WoW for five minutes to just check out GW2 and it’s like pulling teeth… One day they’ll finally get around to it and say “gosh, you were right mom.” I look forward to that day. :P
Thank you all for your input. It really does sound interesting. (I love learning new/old games.) I didn’t think of the Hall of Monuments rewards, I was actually thinking about the storyline, but there is that too. I think my biggest question now is will it work with my Logitech G13? Do any of you guys know?
Just a quick question. (Sorry if this is in the wrong section. Wasn’t sure where to put it.) Been playing GW2 for a little over 2 and a half years now. (Have 2 accounts, one with HoT and one older one I got before it came out.) And the more I play this game, the more curious I get about GW1. There’s no trial or demo so I can’t get in there and test it to see if it’s for me, so I’m just curious for the thoughts of veterans of both games… Would it be worth picking up the game and playing it, or would my money be better spent on new character slots and bank tabs in GW2?
Is it far too different from GW2, I guess is what I’m asking…. Thanks in advance.
He’s at work and I won’t hear from him till rather late this evening, but I’m hoping he heard back from support. I just hope it’s all resolved.
Thank you. I’ll have him check his email.
My friend and I play together a few hours every night and we were just in the middle of playing when he got booted from the game. He went to log back in and it refused, saying he was suspended ‘For using a third party program’ , but he doesn’t. He doesn’t even know how to use a third party program. Neither do I. He did complain to support, just now, but still… Why would that happen when he’s not using a third party program?
I’m pretty upset because it was me who convinced him to buy the game in the first place.
And he’s pretty angry. (We’re both oldie gamers.)
