1. unique weapon and armor effects not related to sigils/runes (maybe like some kind of alternate effect that replaces stats in an equally useful way?)

2. some kind of expac because god know the living world is getting dull and everyone wants something to change drastically and bring forth something worth doing

3. fixes to the personal story or some kind of alternative to or (not going to happen but screw it this thread is unrealistic and Orr can go eat a kitten, I want no part of it)

4. swimsuits that are put on when your character when they enter the water the same way aqua breathers do because swimming in heavy armor and thick elaborate robes is stupid

5. Guild Halls, I’m not really part of one and don’t really care but it’d make other people happy and maybe convince me to invest time in being a member of a guild so why not

Will there be more weapons skin or possibly town clothing added later on in the event? I’m pretty not alright with whats out there right now and have no real drive to participate in any of it until whatever happens with the story next.

Ionno mang, I ain’t creative and I was talkin bout the gem store. It’d be pretty chill if they sold stuff like more armor skins that were seasonal instead of just town clothes, also swimwear when your character goes in the water would be pretty chill.

I wanna give you guys my money to buy kitten but theres nothing I want.

Well I’m in no rush I’m sure whatever issues that are currently happening are not too much of a concern and will be fixed soon enough. Furthermore we have all of December since classes don’t start until 2013 so it should be fine.

I realize this is may be the wrong place to post this so I apologize in advance. With Christmas drawing close and finals ending everyone will have a bit of free time and I would like to recruit a friend to this game for a free trial. Does anyone know the next time we will have the option to do so? Furthermore my friend uses a mac so if he were to play would he be able to download from the beta client?

This has been bugging me for some time now. I know that game mechanic wise Sylvari can eat food items but lore wise do they eat as well?

As a subscription free MMO I am more than willing to use the cash shop. Especially since Anet seems to have found the perfect balance of making it worthwhile without making it create an imbalance to those who choose not to use it. This being said it seems as though it is being somewhat neglected and could use some more additions in the cosmetics and services department. Does Anet have any plans of adding more to it or expanding it in anyway?

I would not be averse to “Town Clothes” swimwear – if it WERE kept underwater, because otherwise people would run around half-clad in LA all the time. (If one could sommehow make it extend to the beach, and no further inland, that would also work.)

But facing death with such flimsy garments? Doesn’t seem right to me, even though KI AM aware full coat-of-plate is equally impractical for opposite reasons.

To be fair armor made out of leaves is a thing.

Biknis and speedos are only lewd if you make them that way. Speedos are used by swimmers to reduce friction and are not intended to be more revealing, they just are by chance. Furthermore theres a difference between a bikini that fits correctly and a bikini made out of strings.

That would involve modeling a corresponding armor for each set of armor. (or at least groups of armor). That’ s a tall order unless you can show this is bugging lots of people. I’m fine with how it is now, especially considering how little time I spend in the water (and how much of a death trap water combat is).

I was thinking something simple like

Heavy armor: Wetsuits

Medium: One Piece, Swim Trunks

Light: Bikini, Speedo

And then just have the color match your armor.

I wasn’t suggesting anything lewd like a bikini Bruno, and personally I’d rather fight a megalodon in something that doesn’t make me sink.

yes, and to make it “realistic”, it would turn into leather armor, because heavy armor would just make you sink.

this may add realism, but it’s bad design. suspend your disbelief, i’m sure you have more things to worry about in-game than that armor getting rusty, or the player not sinking despite wearing 30 pounds of steel.

I don’t think it would be armor, I was thinking something like this, except maybe a little bit more fantasy themed looking.

While I’m skeptical they would ever actually go into such detail for an aesthetic change like this, it’d certainly look a lot more believable. The game — like any MMO — is full of things that could look or behave way better if a little more attention had been paid to “the little things.” Every game has compromises, though.

I understand that and I realize I’m being a little bit nit picky as well. Its just that this game feels polished in all areas except underwater combat, furthermore they already have a water breather which makes me feel like they should add a little bit more to go with it. I would be fine even if it were something really simple like one-pieces and a swim trunks.

Thats underwear that shows up and I was referring more to something that would be used while experiencing underwater combat.

My main is a female sylari guardian though I rolled a human female mesmer as well simply because of the backstory options for humans combined with the fact I do not care for the male human voices. I honestly no longer care about how “appealing” my character looks, I just choose what I think works best. My next character will most like be a male charr engi or a non human male necro.

So this has been bugging me for a while and though it really doesn’t seem like a big deal to most it really bothers me to see for example see a warrior swimming in plate armor. I would really like to see some kind of swimwear added to this game. It could just take on a basic appearance akin to the corresponding armor currently equipped and it doesn’t really need to be super in depth but there should at least be something. After all they added water breathers and that alone really helps make it more realistic.
