I’m having the same issue. Tried to purchase 800 gems last night, about 2-3 times and it failed every time with the error message “unfortunately an error has occured. Please try again later.” I opened a ticket 2111949:Unable to purchase items / gems and haven’t heard anything since yesterday. All I’ve gotten so far is:

I ran this on windows and also on mac with the beta client. Windows 7 64 bit running under boot camp on a 2011 imac with medium settings – 30 FPS. Mac OSX Snow Leopard 64 bit with medium settings – 40 FPS. I submitted a ticket about this to let them know the differences but never heard back. The only issue is on the mac beta client, cannot set WvW character limit to very high or highest, whichever it is. Other than that, flawless.

I actually like the way it is setup now, I know it can be a little tedious to go in and change it, but it let’s me keep track of what dailies have been finished.

Just one thing I wanted to add, if they do this in a story dungeon, then you don’t get the XP as well. We never got any XP from king adelbern when someone did this the other day. Thought about making a ticket but figured it would get ignored.

The issue with the dogs was the chain fear and the fear lasted about 10 seconds each. The issue with the champions was that they knocked down constantly, but I switched for my stability shout which did help a good amount. To be honest, I came from WoW (7 yrs) and the dungeons are radically different, but they are enjoyable though, I still love AC story, not trying the explore paths until 80 though.

Mage / Warlock is pretty well covered by Mesmer and Necromancer professions. I really don’t see the need for another cloth armor wearer. I think it was previously stated that another profession will be added in the heavy armor category since medium and cloth armor professions both have 3 each but heavy only has 1. Plus another heavy armor wearer could actually be a magic caster this time instead of melee focused as that would be really interesting for some kind of ranged DPS focused heavy armor wearer.

So I hit level 42 last night and decided to do Caudecus’s Manor Story mode on my guardian last night. All I can say is Wow! I went greatsword for dps and staff for support as I read that while leveling the staff can help in dungeons for supporting your group. The first boss, the golem kept killing our party until we learned that the fire AOE will kill you unless you move out. The second boss, samething, stay out of the whirlwind AOE or it will kill you. The rest of the dungeon the bosses weren’t really an issue, it was more of the fact that you had a champion that had a gold ring and then you had 3-5 silver ringed mobs that you had to kill. I’m not sure if it was a DPS issue or just not knowing what to kill first but the first 2 bosses I was just running around ressing people and healing / shouting and then I was dps’ing the rest of the time on the packs of mobs. We wiped probably 15-20 times and we finally got through it but it left a bad taste in my mouth because of the sheer difficulty that seemed to increase from AC story. Yes the ghosts hit like trucks but they were manageable whereas the champion + silver spawns in CM story just seemed so hard every pull. I did enjoy the dungeon overall but I just wasn’t sure exactly what we were doing wrong that seemed so punishing. Our group composition was 2 guardians, 1 mesmer, 1 ranger, and 1 thief. The first guardian ran sword and board the whole time while I switched between GS / Staff. Any ideas as to what to do differently if I want to run this again in the future??

Also there were no 80’s and this was a complete pug, no guildies, no mumble/vent.

Yes this happened to us the other night in AC. We killed the last boss, guy ran over and got chest and then left so it kicked everyone out and then the kittenbag logged out so when I went to talk to him about it he was offline. Fix this kitten now!

YAY! I only got to do AR one time, literally the night before it went away and it was so difficult at a low level so I cannot wait to do some of the higher level stuff.

kittenin epic! As someone who did opera and musicals in college, I absolutely adore any references of the sort and cannot wait until I can experience it on my characters. Kudos to you devs for being cultured.

Okay sounds good all, I’ll focus on just redoing AC story since I really like the dungeon overall and put off explorables until later on since I’m not really the mumble / TS type. I have a guardian as well that I’ve been playing when I’m not leveling my warrior so given what I’ve seen in dungeons so far, I may make leveling my guardian more of a priority now.

As for a guardian, I’ve been playing around with Mace / Shield main for dungeons, GS for leveling and for the build 0/0/20/30/20 for group support. Does that sound good?

Having some issues with AC Story / Explorable. I have a 32 warrior and my wife has a 38 thief and we are both having issues within AC. We have both been able to clear AC story once but she is not able to clear AC explore, I do believe it is the boss after the spider queen. In AC Story, at 32 with level 32 gear I noticed that I am getting 3-4 shot by the mobs with the silver circle and I take so much damage. I have to jump out and wait for my heal timer to go down so I can use my heal skill. I come from WoW and played a pally healer / tank so I’m used to having some sort of oh kitten button or some kind of heals. Any ideas what we can do to be able to survive dungeons?

I was fine yesterday but everytime I go to login today it says “errors have been detected please repair your installation” and it goes and verifies all 250,000 files but doesn’t find any errors and plays just fine. It’s not a problem really besides just taking an extra few minutes whenever I happen to restart the application. I’m running the installation from an external 1TB Lacie HDD on a USB 2.0 connection. I’m running Windows 7 through Boot Camp on a 2011 21’ IMac. No hardware issues on the board have been detected, so it may be my external but I haven’t had any issues with any other programs ran on my external. Has this issue been encountered by anyone else?
