I just got killed at the same time as boom boom went down, waypointed and ran back in just in time to see the chest de-spawn. thats way too fast. plenty of times i’ve stopped to sell stuff on the TP so i’ll have enough room in my inventory, gone to get my loot and the chest has vanished too.
Not sure who my ~300 tokens would have gone to at this point but it would have been nice to vote for someone. In the initial briefing mail, in an alert mail the day before, in the news feed in the patcher, these would all be good places to tell us the closing date/time (preferably all 3).
In patch notes that a good portion of the playerbase probably don’t read and in a section that most who do probably scroll straight past to get to the class balance changes is a rubbish place to ‘announce’ anything.

^— lol, GW2’s UI is far less cluttered than almost every single MMO out there.
I kind of agree with the idea of being able to make the UI smaller. I have a 1680×1050 screen and the UI still feels just a little too big on it’s smallest setting.
But considering how mangled the Trading Post text is on the smallest UI setting….To OP, your screen is quite small which is why the Chat Box won’t go all the way down. You might find this more annoying, or it might work better for you, but you can actually drag it and swap it’s position with the Party UI.
allowing individual scaling for each UI element or even just the skill bar would be a (conceptually) easy fix for all these issues.
might not be allowed because it could give people willing to set their skillbar smaller an advantage in the ~esports~ though.
I want a cleaner more clutter free UI.
you might want to take a look at the immersive combat mode, it can be used to hide some of the UI elements, not compatible with steam overlay and maybe other things though.

i think setting it to small causing mangled fonts sometimes is still an issue too.
I’ve got the ui on the smallest setting but still on my monitor (1280×1024 resolution) the chat doesn’t fit down the side of the skill bar. If i set the game to windowed and reduce the vertical height eventually the UI scales down and everything fits along the bottom of the window but thats not a great solution because i lose even more screen space but if a slider to scale the UI was added that would fix the issue.
Yep, switching characters causes you to lose all guild chat history too.
Having to carry stacks of dungeon tokens, WvW badges and guild commendations plus the special event tokens in your inventory is a nuisance. I’ve heard the planned fix for this was to make them collectables that could be sent straight to bank but that stalled due to the 250 cap on bank stacks.
Instead why not make them function the way gold, karma and laurels do. An extra ‘wallet’ tab could be added to the inventory panel so you could keep track of them (since there’s too many to have them all at the bottom of the inventory panel).
go to memtest.org, burn the memtest86 disk image and boot your computer with it to check your ram.
