Two options for weapon skills?

To be fair, it’d be a nice addition rather than having Anet come up with a completely different Weapon Type to add to the game with the next expansion. If i could use my Shield on my Warrior more aggressively, stunning with it and knocking people prone; i’d be happy! Or if i could use a Hammer more aggressively. :s

Combine the core with an oiled orichalcum axe head, oiled small ancient shaft and an inscription of your choice.

Thank you very much! I’ll log in and do that right now!

So i finally crafted my Exalted Axe core, but have no idea what i’m supposed to do with it now that i have it ,_,

I’m genuinly confused about where i’m supposed to be going with this and am just on the edge of thinking i’m going to have to get all the way to Exalted 5 to actually craft my Exalted weapons. Am i right in assuming the need for the grind to make these awesome looking tools of destruction? :o

Auric Chests - Worthy? o-o

So if you have the expansion, you’ll know about the Auric Basin, an awesome area with an interesting and rewarding loot filled meta-event. When the event ends players are allowed to go beneath the city and open a series of chests which give fancy items, Auric Crafting Materials and gems (occasionally). I’m wondering if these chests are capable of dropping Exotics or, even more importantly, Precursors? I get the feeling the answer is no as you get some 15-20 chests after completing the event, but i feel it’s worth asking regardless

Just a quick FYI, the precursors for new legendaries, as well as the legendaries themselves are all account bound on acquire. I’m just parroting what anet has told me.

I also believe they mentioned that they wouldn’t be adding the new legendaries until a couple weeks after launch.

I believe you’re right about them being account bound, and whelp poop, was super excited about it! That sucks for me u.u

So i’ve finally worked my way up to Rank 2 in Legendary Crafting and was very excited, it was time i began working on the new axe, Astralialalala! With a little research i found the precursor was called, “The Mechanism” a weapon presumably crafted through the new system as it has yet to waddle its way into the Auction House. With that in mind, i walked my way right up to the Legendary Crafting Recipe vendor and clicked on the
second tab… Only to be greeted by my selections being grayed out and locked and a little box saying i needed to acquire the second tier of legendary crafting.

I have already put the points into the Mastery, but unfortunatly it’s a no-show :s
Any one else having this issue?

Okay, i’ll admit i was and continue to be rather displeased with the state of loot in HoT at the moment, but now that i’ve really dug into what’s here (I wanted to finish my main-story first) i gotta say, i’m freaking raving. EVERYTHING they’ve added has some positive aspect to it and really is making me feel like i’m advancing my character in interesting and helpful ways that aren’t just straight up vertical power-ups! Don’t get me wrong, there’s a lot to complain about, but my god is there a lot to rave about as well.

As well as this, holy crap Action Camera has made combat SO MUCH BETTER! On EVERY level, my god i feel more like i’m actually doing something rather than leaning on one arm, chin in hand tapping the 1 key. I feel like i need to dodge more rather than doing it hum-drummedly.

Well done ANet, you’ve made a great expansion in regards to player-progression and gameplay

Don’t play then. The rest of us are having fun.

Of course we’d get one of you folks in this thread, i swear these kinds of people are prevalent in poorly designed games and insanely annoying. I picked up Vermintide a week ago and when ever someone would submit a bug report to the forum, someone like Zypher here would go onto their thread and tell them, “IT’s beta, of course its got bugs! Stop complaining that this or that doesn’t work or don’t play!” – It’s sickening.

Three New Legendaries. Period. For Real?

So i’m a pretty hard-core fashion hunter and thankfully, GW2 goes to lengths to facilitate this addiction by making changing my appearance to what i want VERY easy. Knowing the expansion was on the horizon, i pre-purchased it, expecting a plethora of new style, skins, weapon appearances and armors to flounce about Tyria in for hours to come.

Much to my chagrin after prowling the forums for a few minutes i come to find that there are only NINE new armor styles in the entire expansion – period. Full stop. Nine.

This irked me tremendously, honestly i felt like i’d been hosed with my own self-fabricated false promises (ANet never said there’d be a ton of new styles :s) – but at least there would be a new set of Legendary Weapons to gather now, right? They showed those three weapons, H.O.P.E, Nevermore and what ever the axe was called as a taster for the new set of Legendary items that would be presented for each Weapon Type on release, right? Whelp apparently that’s not the case either, those three i mentioned are the only new Legendaries being added to the game, according to the forum.

Seriously, as a fashion-hunter i’ve never been more disappointed in an expansion in my entire online gaming career, I feel like i just spent 50$ on a 20$ product; i can only imagine how the folks who dropped 100$ must feel at this point having obviously expected something truly grand only to wind up with a grind-fest coated in a layer of frosty mediocrity in regards to the gears diversity of appearance. :c

Halloween Skins in T&T Bags?

So i’m getting ready to snag HoTs today, but in the mean time i’m enjoying the Halloween content. I took a hyadis last year and missed halloween, so it’s nice to see all the old skins return for just two tickets, but i’m wondering where those fancy new ones are that we were given the screen-shot of earlier last month! Are the Bat Wings, that awesome ax and all those other goodies in the Trick or Treat bags, or is there a vendor i’m missing?

Thanks in advance!

So i’ve recently returned from my latest break from the game and decided to slow down and smell the roses, help the free players out etc. Whilst i was enjoying the scenery and scouring the land for my Points of Interest, i came upon this super-fancy looking egg with a feather in it in the Human Main City. Does anyone know the lore behind this particular piece of scenery, or is it just a miscellaneous piece of nondescript lore left to take up space?

Can’t tell if sarcasm or desperate singles looking for love.

Why can’t it be both? And thank you Anet, i love being able to swap my staff without having to worry about only having one of the same skin! Now i don’t have to worry about re-buying the same staff to have my Final Rest skin on both my Mage AND necromancer. ALSO! My Warrior and Guardian can both have my Ghastly Grinning Skull Shield now as well!

So, no new items for Halloween?

their heart

We see where that’s lead us so far.

On topic:

Novelty items are usually just cosmetics that are just there to show. It’s like saying “Hey! I was here when these were handed out!” If you miss it, it shouldn’t be that big of a deal. Just like how people are complaining about the TA back item. It’s gone. Oh well. It might be a big deal to some, but, really, how long until you override that back skin? The next LS for most people.

I agree, though i’ve used the same Ghastly Grinning Skull shield skin since i’ve gotten it. Now things like Mad Moon, The Crossing, Arachniphobia and the others are going to almost be common place.

It’s completely fair to have the same resources and runes each year, those of us that were there can make the items from the past and sell them to folks coming in later on. I know it’s just ascetic, but isn’t that about 90% of what the “End Game” for GW2 is? Not to mention it’s kind of sheer laziness that Anet is essentially recycling everything from last year and just adding a few extra pages of text and a mask.

So, no new items for Halloween?

cerberouse.7680

Whelp, Halloween is drawing near once again and we can all feel the presence of The Mad King as he presses against the barrier between worlds. Sadly it seems he comes with the same toys and trinkets as his last visit, only one or two new items added with this new year.

True, we’re getting a new story, but the only item that could be possibly considered unique from the last is the back-book you gain from completing the last one. I imagine the mask for this year will be following suit when NEXT year comes around, this time being the mask. It’s saddening that the seasonal items i worked my bumb off to get last year will become nearly common-place this year, not to mention not giving me a reason to go out of my way to gather materials for a new kind of shield/sword/what have you.

Their’s just not that many actually special things in GW2 it seems :/

Halloween event, same items as last year?

So, Halloween is drawing ever neigh and the even has blessedly changed, at least in who we’re going to be combating and all. How ever i feel it really must be asked, are we going to be seeing a return of the arachniphobia, The Crossing, Mad Moon and other Halloween based items as last year? I know a lot of people that weren’t around for the even would be cheering for such an eventuality, but it would certainly take the “i’m special” out of the long time users like me who have items from that time.

Personally i’m hoping we’ll get a new set of seasonal s to expound our collections instead of just rehashing old items each holiday :s

How dragons went extinct...

(I am on Sorrow’s Furnace US)

When i started playing back within the first year of launch i couldn’t wait to hunt the three Dragon Lieutenants, such huge, many-playered battles tickled my fancy like nothing in any other game, especially since you could just drop straight into it!

Sadly, one year after the games release dragons like Claw of Jormag and The Shatterer are lucky to see a party of twelve adventurers doing the fight, today no more than three people showed up to do Claw of Jormag, painful to watch and discouraging enough for everyone to simply drop it and go their separate ways, knowing we couldn’t possibly complete it with three people.

Why have the dragons become such ghost-towns recently? Well, part of it may be that you can only gain their loot drops once per day, being lucky to get a yellow item. That of course discourages anyone from doing it more than once, but is reasonable as it balances the economy when it comes to precursors etc. With limited loot drops came the search for new sources of candy, and boy did folks find it.

Champion Creatures, regularly dropping Fallen Adventurers backpacks, green to yellow items and giving a good bit of exp, as well as being easily farm able have quickly stolen the thunder that the long, drawn out dragon fights once had. One can easily make upwards of 40g a day doing a circuit of champions, as well as getting skill-scrolls whilst doing so without even hitting every champion every time it comes up. This in association with the fact that the loot stays consistent regardless of the areas level is making dragons, wonderful fights they are seem old and gray.

How could this be fixed? Well, allowing the chest of a dragon-fight to be looted more than once a day would be a grand way to reward people for getting involved, only the first time it’s looted giving a chance of gaining a precursor and slowly lowering the quality of loot each time the chest is looted?

Surly their are other possibility to give the Dragons a reason to exist, perhaps a dragon-spirit buff after completing that increases Magic-Find by 20% for two hours, giving medium numbers of crafting components for doing it repeatedly after the first time (five large scales, five large claws, five lard fangs), etc. I simply do not know…

So i purchased the game about a week after release and played it to death, how ever their wasn’t much to do at end game at that time, so i uninstalled it to make room for other games. Later on (about the time of the eight bit event) i reinstalled and played a bit, only to uninstall again for different games to take its place. Now i’m rejoining the GW2 community for a third time, but this time can’t log in with my account!

Now of course i should be able to simply reset my account, my browser remembering my accounts password and being the only reason i’m able to log in to my site-bound account. How ever, the recovery methods are a bit obtuse for my use. Either i need both a character name as well as my registration number, or all of my characters are gone!

Add to that the fact that it would be unreasonable for me to have kept an email which may have seemed superfluous at the time in my inbox and i’m in a right pickle when it comes to getting my account back. Is their no way i would be able to have my password sent to my E-mail without these?

If you only need to remember your password, and it is saved in your browser, you need only check your browser’s tools, and find your saved password there. Good luck. =)

It can’t have been more than two minutes before you posted this incredibly helpfuly piece of advice that i found out how to do it on google! xD
I now know why my password wasn’t one i was about to remember… grumble grumble! That also helps with other lost passwords i have, what a reliefe, now i can help fight off the clockworks >:3
