Better sell it again, it’s not optimal to have. It won’t work for the full duration of all your skills and it will force you to swap weapons, rendering you worthless if you NEED an offhand ready.
Sry to tell you that, invest in runes and food instead.

If you’re continuously weapon swapping the sigil is a good choice for you since it naturally flows with your playstyle. That, and you get to save on expenses/time required to get things like Commander Gear and Bountiful Sharpening Stones.
Personally, I find myself hugging shield a lot while tanking so it would be more awkward for me to do a weapon swap and be without my precious shield for 10 seconds. In that case, I made a personal decision to go for Commander’s and Bountiful Stones since it caters more to my playstyle and helps offset the +Boon Duration I would have gotten with just the Sigil itself.
Yeah I don’t wanna attempt tanking yet until I have all commanders gear for toughness. Until then, I just wanna be utility/dps boon bot
You mustn’t perma swap weapons, since you need to keep your shield 5 on CD in order to be able to cast it 4 times per rotation. Same goes for the phantasm – you want to replace all your “1 life” phantasms before the new CS. And most imporant – while staying on shield you’ll be able to have your focus pull ready when you need it, not when you “are on focus by coincidence”. This has a major impact against Sabetha where you need to pull the thugs and arsonists the moment they want to attack / kick. You can also time this with the CD of Tides of Time, wich you can’t if you swap all the time.
It’s not a playstyle question – it’s a skill level question. Try improving by not using it and focus on more important things, on your envoirment and how to use your offhand skills with utmost efficiency and with the best outcome / passive dps gain.

So I finally just acquired this sigil, mainly for raids. I’m wondering if I should put it on my berserker sword, or craft a new sword with Commander stats. I will not be chronotanking anytime soon, so I wonder if I should even make a commander sword at all given that I will have some DPS loss if I do. Also, if I only use it for raids, would be ok to just put it on an exotic sword?

I’m planning on doing the same. I’m working on my necro to 80 so I can move over my gear. it just hasn’t been the same since all this crap…
The alacrity was handled in City of Heroes by allowing up to 3 stacks. One stack I think provided 33% recharge. each additional stack added more, but not 33% more each. I suggest allowing up to 2 or 3 stacks of alacrity which can provide at max 66%. It should be 50% for 1, 58% for 2, and 66% for 3.
I honestly think alacrity should be no less than 50% to make it a worthy buff. In my pic attachment I depict when there are 2 stacks of alacrity it grants 58% cooldown rate, and 3 stacks grants 66% cooldown rate. The numbers can be played with but I think at some point we should be able to reach 66% alacrity, even if for 2-3 seconds, and the rest whatever pleases ANet.

I’m starting a Necro which is my second character ever and I’m just curious if berserker stats is the way to go to lvl up to 80? I sense that is the general opinion of players. But given that Necro does a lot of condition abilities and survives on leeching, should I be more concerned with condi dmg and +healing power/vitality? Or should I not bother to think about those things until I reach lvl 80?

Thank you so much for the reply. Is there a max time duration limit ? Usually party is at melee range when i put down wells so they get the alacrity from wells already and if i use signet of inspiration it will be like alacrity duration x2 (their alacrity + mine). i don’t wanna waste/overrun if there’a max time duration.
like the person above said, alacrity is not a boon, it is a buff. signet will not transfer alacrity.
alacrity stacks in time duration. so cast all your wells quickly. the healing well will also grant alacrity and I suggest you use that heal if you are using the 2 other wells. with time warp up, you should be able to get 5 abilities in. if you equip shield you can also get in a lot of quickness. my rotation is f5, time warp, well of action, shield 5, well of recall, healing well, signet of inspiration to give allies all your boons. you should be able to fit all of those in before f5 snaps back.
Buff some of our useless utilities, like mirror images. Why is this on a 45 second cooldown, yet decoy (which is stronger) is on a 40 second cooldown?
Why does precog still have a cast time?
Why are the wells cooldowns untouched?
Why are our Chono Traits untouched?
Why is timewarp, despite being severely weakened in most game modes, still on a 180 second cooldown. Despite that Gravity Well, an easily argued stronger elite, is on a 90 second cooldown?
Hey, we just buffed the kitten out of boon corrupt Necro. Can arcane thievery get some mother kittening love?
Can we replace phantasmal defender with something actually useful?
Can we get rid of some of the weird kitten after cast delay on our skills? Seriously, has anyone else noticed that sword 2 has an after cast in which you can’t dodge or do anything initially, unless you cancel the attack slightly early?Have I made my point yet, are we about done?
Next patch note :
- updated cooldown of decoy from 40 to 45 seconds, to match mirror images
- updated cooldown of Gravity Well from 90 to 180 seconds, to match Time Warp
- fixed a bug where Quickness given by mesmers was a Boon instead of an Effect. Still corruptible.
- inscreased delay between iDefender attacks by 50% to avoid excessive sustain
- added a skill fact on Blurred Frenzy to document the aftercast
- fixed a server crash
Gravity Well’s cool down should not be 180 seconds. Time Warp has a 10 second duration and Gravity only 3 seconds. not only that but, Gravity Well along with only a couple other wells do not grant instant quickness and must wait for cast time. If GW is part of a chrono’s f5 rotation, then that would be really kittenty, as GW being such a good cc ability needs to come out first on a f5 rotation so you can lay down other wells while the mobs are unable to attack you.
I could deal with that.
Alacrity being cut down to 33% recharge rate from 66% is awful. Putting up Time Warp every 2 minutes (and that is IF f5 happens to be up), is not that great. In terms of supporting allies, they only get 2 seconds per well of 33% recharge rate increase will not do much. The alacrity rate should be no less than 50% in my opinion.
shatter build? so you’re basically saying everyone else except mesmers should be able to enjoy their new elite specialization?
