WvW Guild Aura's Bugged

On any claimed objective on any of the world vs. world maps, auras are not showing up at all. The guild I am in has unlocked 3 auras among other things as have many others and they are currently doing nothing even on a claimed objective. Before it would show the sign of the aura and what buffs you got from it and it seems to be gone now. It has been like this for a few days now.

One thing that hasn’t been mentioned at all because it is so far away from most guilds and so dang expensive right now is tactics. Before HoT dropped and it was in beta and we found out cost of tactics, it was actually interesting in a tower or a camp cause we wanted to try the new tactics. Waiting in camps for a dune buggy or towers for a dragon banner. I wouldn’t mind auto-upgrades to stay the same way if tactics became attainable instead of bank breaking like rest of stuff.

Tactics consumables are very expensive to craft. Crafting one instance of Sabotage Supply Depot requires 75 Flax Fibers + 1 Resonating Sliver. The material cost is over 5 gold per use.

That’s the lowest tier of consumable with a weak effect (denying supply at a captured objective).

It is like they removed the need for manual upgrades and gave us tactics that need manual upgrade and then made them so hard to attain with need for auras and other stuff that nobody has even touched them and if a guild has, made one and said it’s not worth it at all for time being.

It really takes away from needing to scout and pay attention to the map. Now that you can see what guild claims where and when somewhere is taken, you don’t even have to look at the map except when the new names of objectives are not known.

Let’s just hope for a crossover and that they don’t go to far overboard if they do and say have fun with mentor tags in wvw too x.x I hope they fix their stuff soon and give us quickloot :\

WvW upgrades are not automated and the only thing guild groups can do is with tactics. Tactics when they are actually reached by guilds after jumping threw hoops and the whole grind will probably make it more interesting. Each has to be crafted though with mats instead of influence along with all the other unlocks. Also there are the auras like the +5 which can only be accessed at guild level 37 with all the prerequisite. Until some of the guilds get their feet on their ground, probably will stay dead.

Anet: WvW New Harvesting Nodes [Synthesizers]

You can harvest from those Nodes anywhere even if you don’t own the objective. My guess is they are making it so you can farm the nodes in towers and things cause they are trying to break the current “old” wvw meta of going from objective to objective and not defending and sitting in towers for long periods of time.

Guild Hall war rooms take Tribunes of battle that are obtained by exchanging badges of honor in the war room.

No more +5 in camps/towers/keeps

The +5 buff is obtained as part of the whole aura thing. It will be permanent when it is unlocked like the rest but before that a guild has to get a war room in their guild hall upgraded enough to make that upgrade.

Ideas to improve player investment in WvW

One thing that I think would improve investment is if there was a reason to play wvw. Sure with the new legendary weapons they are trying to make people play more than one gamemode but a lot just to to EoTM to get their badges of Honor. PVP gets finishers and gear, something that actually shows they play it and that they invested time. Dungeons and Fractals and even silverwastes give attainable titles and of course gold and gear. WvW doesn’t really give that. There are no special wvw finishers or gear you can only get in wvw that shows you are a person who mains wvw. Sure there are your wvw ranks but none of your allies can even see that title, just your “enemies”. I think in order for people who don’t main wvw to get more invested, they would have to be able to get something from it that is worth their time. People grind pvp for new finshers and gear, people run dungeons and fractals and silverwastes for titles and loot. WvW doesn’t even have many attainable titles(though rumor has that’s changing), the loot that is obtained is not especially valuable and you lose more gold than making it. Until there is actually something a player can benefit from other than playing the game I think the investment level will stay low.
