I keep getting error 11:1001:2:1272 and recover account prompt after pc restoration. I have changed the password multiple times and still get the same error.

lol, this! IoJ are opportunists in the best sense of the word. More than once I’ve seen them on the edges of the field watching us battle other servers for a nice shiny tower only to have them rush in at the last minute and steal the candy from the victor with a mad rush to the lord’s room. Or they rush in and start banging on the Stonemist doors that we had been banging on before we got pushed out (and vice versa) and they break through to inner as we are rallying. Both servers end up in SM battling the third servers lord for supremacy!

So, no…no alliance. Just battling the IoJ scavengers (and I don’t mean that in bad way, you guys are very good at what you are doing). IoJ’s are honey badgers and just don’t give a kitten, they just take what they want!

More than once I’ve been the filling in that sandwhich. When we catch IoJ on their own we can usually push them back with sheer numbers. Just know that they will come behind and take everything we just took in an odd game of what’s yours is now mine.

Not only am I happy with the state of WvW as far as match up, this sort of match up thread is incredibly refreshing. Massive amounts of respect to both DH and IoJ, you guys are top tier opponents as far as I’m concerned, respectful, respectable, courteous, polite, skilled, etc, etc. I’m so glad that we’ve landed in a tier with people like you.

With that said… We’ve landed. Night time coverage (to be specific 1AM to 2AM – 9AM to 10AM server time [that’s PST for those not in the know]) has been our time of near crippling vulnerability since T8. We don’t have a wide diversity of timezones on this server, this has been known for a long time and was also the foremost concern we had with raising through the tiers. We knew that, in the end, coverage would be what caused our climb to stall. T6 provided that in spades.

That’s not to take anything from DH & IoJ. Even in prime time hours lately the numbers haven’t been ridiculously skewed one way or another. If I were to say anything to it it’d be: school, fairweathers jumping ship, casuals feeling too much pressure, and hardcore WvWer’s feeling burnt out from our tooth and nail climb from T8. Ignoring all this, we can post some intimidating as kitten numbers during prime time. That coverage gap though…. Not much we can do about it.

In that sense SF is forced to maximize it’s gains when the numbers can support it via working the tick, etc. What do I think of that? About kittening time. I’m glad we’ve FINALLY gotten our wake up call. No more fairweather, no more 24/7 mesmer on JP, no more carebear kitten. We have to organize.

Does it suck logging in after work and seeing the score? kitten yes. Has it been a while since that happened? kitten yes. Been a while, if ever, since I’ve said green looks disgusting on our BL. Does it make me angry? A little bit But in the end it makes me happy. This has to force our server as a whole to grow, otherwise why the kitten do we commit so much of our lives to this?

I’m happy to be in a tier with such respectable competition. I look forward to ALL of our mutuals growths, I hope that SF has for both DH and IoJ at least changed perspective on the WvW match-up. For us (SF), WvW has been very stale. If any of you can relate to that, then I’m glad we found our place here.

I look forward to many good fights in the future, and I hope we can continue to respect the challenge and pressure we apply on each other. Mad respect DH & IoJ. This has absolutely been one of my best WvW experiences. I hope we (SF) as a server have provided you the same enjoyment.

I found myself nodding my head throughout your post. DH experienced something very similar when we last moved tiers. We went from steamrolling the competition for weeks and weeks on end to fighting tooth and nail to keep our own stuff. The result of that being that we learned from our mistakes, worked harder, and got better. We still have a lot to learn though.

We still have some crutches we depend on to get us through and we’re quickly learning those will not sustain us in the long run. Having SF join the mix is again causing us to stretch in order to adapt and I think it’s going to be beneficial to both of our servers in the long run.

The amount of respect in this thread from all sides is very, very welcome after dealing with the competitors in our last thread. Hope to see you in battle.

Let me just say welcome to SF, I’m late to the forum party, but OMG the Stonemist battle last night was epic!
A good hour and a half sieged up in the Lord’s room combatting zergs pushing from the NE, NW and South entrances into inner was thrilling! Your multiple portal bombs were a great effort and I apologize for mass amounts of confusion fields but, hey a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do to protect her DH friends.
We knew when the end finally came and died gracefully, with cheers of congratulations on TS for a job well done on both sides of the battle, and a lot of respect for the effort displayed by SF. Good job, I look forward to more epic battles!

I just want to extend my respect for IoJ commander Mini Me 3. He unerringly lead IoJ to our commanders on IoJBL, and on DRBL. When we toggled down on one force, and toggled up on a decoy force, he unerringly lead IoJ to that decoy force. It is that kind of command that is hard to find these days. I suppose this is what came from all of that behind doors thinking on IoJ command.

But beyond that natural ability to lead, Mini Me 3 shows uncanny dedication to WvW. For hours on end he sits there patiently at the waypoint in the IoJBL, or in our citadel in DRBL. He has nothing to do but auto attack his heal skill. How does he stand all of that tedium of just standing there, hour after hour? One can only admire his tolerance for boredom.

DH has it’s own issues with Asura Thiefey. He stays in our spawn point all night doing the same thing. He never moves, just heals. Only rarely does he ever say anything and it’s only to trash talk us and say how superior DR is to us. Sound familiar? We’ve had to deal with him for several weeks now.

Last night we were in IoJ BL with our “massive” zerg (10-15 players). As the night went on in IoJ BL, we did accumulate more people though, because of the commander (he’s pretty popular).

After the map turned green (around 12-1 am PST) our “zerg” of 10-15 people went into DR BL, ONLY to take Garrison, Bay and Hills (people left after we changed maps). You know why? Because of all the whining on this forum, and your gates (except for one) were paper (must have just gotten them back). I saw maybe 5 DR coming to defend what was yours!

When we were in IoJ, there were probably between 20-40 who came to defend what was theirs. What’s the deal with that? Don’t want to fight, or not paying attention to the maps?

I can’t say much for EB, since I hardly ever go in there, too laggy.

I would say the people in my guild pretty much just go where there is the least amount of green on the map, and we go to have fun! You might see the whole group jumping off a cliff, just because. We like to enjoy our time out there running around, and do a lot of laughing. If we see something happening in our BL, we WILL go back right away (we spend a lot of money on upgrading those keeps).

P.S. To the IoJ thief out there trailing us last night…..You are good at your profession! We got a giggle out of seeing the “fallen/dead” icon on the screen for whoever was falling behind. We did manage to catch you in the water when we took DR’s Bay, but that was after an hour or so of you creeping on us.

Those two IoJ thiefs! omg….I hate them only because they were so good. Teach me to stop for gold nodes again!

Several very loud DR have been giving us a lot of grief for kitteny things and QQ’ing while IoJ has been pretty good sports about it all and showing up for good fights and good competition. IoJ keeps a good presence in their BL most of the time we go there and we ran into some pretty large forces chasing us around in IoJ last night which was quite fun. They are good at fighting us off with strategic siege when they’re outnumbered. I think IoJ has great potential and will be a force to contend with if they have some more numbers. Having said that, I have mad respect for DR’s Btsy, NoQQ guys and their other friends.
There is no overt agenda or alliance but when it comes down to whose BL we’re going to raid it’s a pretty easy choice at the moment. You reap what you sow.

If you play GW2 on a large screen (and I’m talking like a 60 inch screen), and set it to the highest screen size settings, you can see and target over the wall without using a hack.

Anet has always condemned the use of 3rd party apps as a violation of ToS. That’s a given. Unless they address this in some way I don’t know how to tell those who are hacking from those with big kitten monitors.

I am a tech guy, and I question this explanation.

While I concede that with multiple monitors, you are able to render more viewable data on screen.. a 120" screen at 1080 (what I am able to run, btw) is still displaying exactly the same information as a 15" screen. There are still 1920×1080 lines of information. On a multi-monitor setup, this changes to say 5760×1080 (three screens running at 1080p), and therefore, is able to render more viewable information for the user.

There may be something in the software side of things I am missing, so please clarify if that is the case.

Either way, you are entirely correct that this is where the ambiguity comes in. Its not clear at all.

I can’t answer that. I use a single 36 inch so I can’t test it to prove it one way or the other. Standing where the arrow cart is placed my POV is always hung up on the underside of the lip on top of the wall or from behind my toon and against the wall.

Being superior does not mean that you are better than DR in any way that I care about. I care for personal skill, group synergy, tactics and strategy. (If you haven’t figured this out by now I will just ignore you, since you seem to be ignoring me).

As such, no Darkhaven is not better than DR according to me. However, with the current ranking system, you are the superior server due to your numbers and coverage. This can’t be that hard to comprehend can it?

In reality, WvW comes down to coverage and numbers. Or do you think it’s a coincidence that the higher up in tiers you go, the longer and more frequent the queues are? Rest assured though, there is absolutely nothing impressive about this. Would you prefer to watch a soccer game where every competing team could field as many players as they possibly could, rather than their 11 strongest?

I’m not claiming superiority. However, Darkhaven is much more than mad zergapalooza and zombie hordes nom-nomming on loot bags. We have some amazing WvW guilds and groups that are key to our success and believe in communication to get things done. To insinuate that we lack strategy, tactics, synergy, etc is a blanket observation and your opinion. If we insinuated the same to you then you would quickly be on here with verbal backlash.

I’m not here to verbally spar with you. It wouldn’t accomplish anything anyway. If you have a hate-on for DH that’s ok. Hopefully you’ll have someone new to fight soon and you can tell them how they’re only winning because of numbers and coverage.

We have worse coverage.

IoJ always plays for second which is why the score between IoJ and DR is closer than it should be. DR is by far the superior server.

I’m sorry, I guffawed at that. Everyone thinks their server is the superior one. To make such a biased statement you need solid proof to back it up to be taken seriously.

We ran into wave upon wave of DR and IoJ in EB last night. The numbers were amazing. We pushed into DR again and again and kept driving them back. I’m a squishy mesmer and I was only downed once even though I was running among the front line because no one was pushing back into our line. I believe DR got the best of us when they wiped us while we were capping a tower (Durios I think) but we repaid that with wiping them from behind in the dredge tunnel as they tried to take WC and there were more of them than us there. Good times.

We pushed into the IoJ crowd and met resistance. It was a bit of a tug-of-war until they finally broke us. IoJ trampled me, deservedly. It was well fought and felt like a great challenge. I always smile when I see the NoQQ guys and their friends in the mix. If I die then at least it was a good death. <3

NGL, I’m usually hiding amongst the giant Norn guardians and doing my RAWR moves then getting distracted by all the shiny bags and falling towards the back of the group. Too many shinies to be distracted by.

Darkhaven’s pouplation so far doesn’t seem to be too far away from EBay’s but their siege placement and skill has been about 10x worse.

I don’t know what their population is like but as I said before much of what we’re seeing right now is transitory and due to circumstances outside the norm. I’m curious to see how many actually stick around once the newness of the wvw patch has worn off.

I guess what Oozo is trying to say is that if DH realizes that instead of sending 50 people to kill us they can just get 15 decent people together and try to roll us, they have just freed up 35 people who can go do something productive.

But I guess that’s why DH is barely beating IoJ and DR in a match up where we are horribly outnumbered.

Well there’s more to that story from a DH perspective. There have been talks of backing off WvW in order to keep our numbers down due to the potential of moving up a tier if we continue to push our numbers up. We recognize we have coverage issues during the morning and midday (and graveyard shift) and that our server is not as cohesive as it needs to be in order to gain a foothold in the higher tiers and stay there…for the moment.

We’ve gained a lot of fairweather players with the move to this tier and our success so the numbers are a lot more than we normally have and we’re a bit surprised as well by the turnout. But puggles and fairweather friends disappear quickly if we get moved up to last place in a higher tier which would find us coming right back here. It’s better to make a presence here and work on strength for now. One of the great things about DH is the ability to know our strengths and our weaknesses.

I’ve enjoyed the challenges of this tier. There are a lot of great players.

…you go to WvW on your alt and feel out of place because you’re not shepherding a herd of golems.

….all the dyes you buy are Mesmer pinks, purples, and blues.

….you bought a hair change kit to make your toon’s hair Mesmer purple.

…..equipping a sword on your alt means you actually have to be close to hit something and do damage, fancy waving of the blade won’t get you anywhere.

…..you spend too much time in WvW keeps thinking to yourself “I could hide there…and there….and there”

im pretty sure the ledges are there to specifically prevent people from being pulled off the walls, so abusing chain pulls to get around the terrain design constitutes exploiting and should be a bannable offense

Let’s not mention the number of times I’ve seen Siegerazer yank people up and off walls, sending them to fiery pew pew deaths at the mercy of the zerg mob. And he’s not a mesmer….

It’s a skill. Several people using it to continuously pull you doesn’t make it an exploit. That tiny little half ledge wasn’t made to protect you from being pulled over it but to keep you from inadvertantly running off the ledge….it’s nothing more that a decorative toe kick.

I’m enjoying going up against BP and AR. Things are really well matched and it poses a lot of challenge that keeps us on our toes, unlike our previous tier which gained a lot of loot bags for me but little challenge. The new tier has been exciting, frustrating, and constantly moving so job well done to all. We’re definitely learning a lot as we go.
