having really bad lag at cursed shore, on gunanrs hold, tested other maps, even lions arch, no lagg at all there.

I dont find it that strange, since a real longbow, shoots slower then a non longbow, plus its slow, and hit hard, compared to the shortbow, that has a fast attack, but deals less dmg/shot:)

hi, today at lvl 50, I used sword for the first time (lol) and I love it, but not many sword builds out there, been working on a build now, and would like som input on it, this is for pve, most of the time I play solo, cause of my work hours, so my build cant be a classcannon build, my main weapon will be sword/torch, and the other shortbow.

as a ranger my biggest issue with this, is not the fact that the mob goes straight for me, rather that I have to kite the mob, making my pet having to chase the mob, and by chasing the mob, not getting any hits on it, and cause of that, my damage output is much less, having to equip mellee weapons just for risen mobs is stupid game design, plus that the aggro isnt the same with risen in water combat, the pet keeps aggro much longer, and takes longer before the mob comes for me if Im passive with just the pet attacking, then if if do the same thing on land, poor game design, thats all:P

tnx found it when I looked again its called “poached eggs” didnt find it when i did a search for “eggs” or “poached” came up blank, must have missed it when I read the name of all the recipes, verry good seach function:P

any one know if “recipe: drottos’s poached devourer eggs” is bugged, or has the wrong info in the tooltip? just bought it, learned it, but its not in my “cookbook” says it req chef lvl 5, and Im at 119 atm

I just solved it, I have all the latest drivers, but what I did was:
rightclick the gw2 shortcut.
click properties.
click compatibility tab.
enable compatibility/windows 7.

this solved all my problems with gw2 in win 8, really easy, but atlest I didnt know that option was there lol, hope it helps someone else:)

hmm, I dont have any problems with black screen, or messages, just the lag, made a support ticket about it, but just got the answer that win 8 is not “officially supported”
and was recommended to install windows 7 and use dual boot.. nice fix, an extra OS just for one game, my other games work just fine, but I had some problems when I installed it, and the reapair tool froze, so testing a reinstall now, and then use compatibility mode for windows 7, hoping that will solve it, 60% left to download:P

hi, I used to play on windows 7 64bit, no problems at all, last night I upgraded to windows 8, now my fps are much better then before, with the same settings, but my problem is, now I have lagspikes more or less all the time 2-5 sec, regadless of what map Im on, or instances areas, all drivers are the latest, my isp works just fine (10/10mbit) anyone else have this problem in windows 8? or have any idea whats causing it?

hi, been playing my mesmer for a week now, just hit lvl 50, only done wvw so far,
then I decided to do some pve, and fould my self struggling in a way I never did in wvw, since the play styles are different, I have no problem with single mobs, two mobs, or elite mobs, its when there are ie a group of 3, I really start taking dmg, what makes it worse is, having to kite around alot to avoid taking dmg, and thats really hard to do in many areas without pulling even more mobs, so asking the ppl in this great comunity for both build tips, and how you hadle larger groups of mobs, in wvw I have been using GS for main weapon, since I really like the range, and dmg it does, but on the second weapon set Im open minded for anything, aslong as it improves my ability to play pve solo

well, like I said, I know I wont get the best dps with the build that I need, but on the other hand, I dont want a build, that is so support focused, that it takes me 10 min to kill a normal elite mob, thats why I think its hard to find the right build, since it should work both as support in groups, but still have some dps, since it will make solo playing a pain in the a** othewise, so the ultimate build for me, would be a build, that lets me swap out the major traits, when doing groups/party, so I get some more dps or support

hi, first of all, I love the guardian, my 3rd char (others lvl 80) but for the first time, Im finding it hard, making a build, for my playstyle, and the type of weapons I like best.

playstyle: in groups I rather have a more supportive role, some healing, and boons, while doing average dps, in other words, not a glass cannon build. but at the same time, I want to be able to solo stuff, I understand that I dont get amazing dps with that type of build, but would like atleast average dps.

weapons: really love the hammer, and for me its a must with a range weapon, so scepter/shield (or torch for solo).

I have made several builds, but they either end upp full “support” making soloing a painfull story, or full dps builds, that lack the support element I really like, so would be gratefull for any build tips, if you are using the same weapons/playstyle as me, what stats you use on gear/runes etc, to make it balanced

often when I run around playing, my offhand weapon, regardless if its the shield, or pistol, it becomes invisible, the hand is out, looks like Im holding ie a gun, but no texture for a gun, same with the shield, but when I use a weapon skill, I can see it again, after a while the gun is gone again, if Im not using the guns, not on my hip/back, or in my hand, a minor bug, but irritating, and this is regadless of the name of the weapon in my offhand, so its not just a certain “type” of the weapons.

ah ok, thougt so, but better to ask, then running around with a “broken” trait, since I know from my other chars that many are:P tnx:)

hi, I love the flamethrower, so went all the way in firearms and got the juggernaut trait, I get the might boon, but not the 200 toughness, without the flamethrower I got 430 toughness in the current zone, with the flamethrower I got 548, so thats an extra 118 toughness I get, so my question is, is this trait bugged, or does it have something to do with my lvl (60), or that Im downlvld, that I dont get the full amount?

btw, what do you use as 2nd weapon set? or do you swap them out all the time like I do?

sounds exactly like the type of build Im after, I dont really care about being top dps, I rather kill a bit slower, with mobility, and survive, so Il give it a try, tnx:)

hi, I have now tested all the professions to about lvl 30 or higher, saved the thief for last since I thougt thats the profession I would like the least, but I was so wrong.. love the thief with the bow as main weapon, the other weapon set I change depending on the situation, I tend to like a more supportive roll when I play, so my question is, are there any decent support builds for thief and bow as main weapon? I do play both pve, wvw and do dungeons, so should work ok for those things, would be grateful for build tips.
