exploration as farming (idea)

the idea has merit to it, and i do like it.

however if everyone is running many different events and such, how are we to tell which mobs are new (thus less chance to get good loot) and whichhave been around a long long time and untouched (thus have higher good loot chance)? Or is it personalized, as in if we personally havent done the event for a long time, it gives better loot just for us? Or we r not spose to know which events/mobs are those that will give better chance?

well actually it evens itself out so not everyone is just running around getting higher tier stuff all the time — the more people that regularly do it the less higher tier loot you would get, so it would balance itself out -- and you could tell how long it ago it had been farmed by the amount of bonus xp you would get.

you would still have to go out looking for the less farmed content, but by killing a cpl mobs you would be able to tell how long ago it was done by comparing bonus xp.

hey so i thought of this last night, and though it probably has been talked about before, i was wondering your thoughts. how easy would it be to implement, and if would work in a game like this.

so not talking too specifically, but if i remember correctly anet had stated that this game would be more about exploration and doing different things than farming certain events. but as we all know gw2 has turned into a farming game — dragons / bosses, settler farming in southsun, cof1, fractals -- all the same events over and over again because it is the most profitable.

my idea is simple, you know how you get more xp for mobs that have been alive longer. what if these mobs or even some de also gave a higher chance to drop better loot, (rares, mats, etc)

we have all seen (maybe while we are running around doing map completion) , whole events that are just sitting there, and mobs that havent been touched for weeks. the extra xp is not enough reason to farm these guys , but better loot chance would be. i know i would run to the darkest corners of this world to farm long lost de/ mobs if there was a 10% – 20% higher chance at getting rarer goods.

now if they can track a mob to give it extra xp , they should be able to track it to give it extra rare loot chance — but i dont know im not a dev. what are your thoughts, wouldnt it be nice to play some of this content that we havent played since launch (and actually have it be worthwhile). arent you sick of farming the same 5 things everyday ? imagine your guild doing ebonhawke runs (and everyone gets a few rares) — it was dead when i was leveling there a week ago (not even enough people to do wasps)

i love this game but it is becoming very repetitive, and they have so much awesome content out there already, but no significant reason to do it. (people cant outfit {build gear / skins / legend/ extras } from these events / mobs)

anyways just a thought

tl:dr add increased rare loot chance along with increased xp to mobs/ de that havent been killed/ completed in a long time.

im guessing anet saving it for something, why not release them otherwise, oh well i guess i got to kepp leveling medium armor wearers and hope i get it in personal story reward

red answer would be great for this — thanx

Grind’s inevitable in every game. The only thing that’s not inevitable is the amount of grind.

That’s not true.
Grind is only there in GW2 if you want it. I never grinded for anything I own, got 4 char to 80 full ascended/exotic.
It’s just that some people want things in less time they are supposed to, and therefore grind stuff for getting it earlier.
A self-inflicted punishment can’t really be blamed on anyone but the one doing it.

im sorry you may not call it grind but to get 4 char to 80 and have full ascend/exotic gear — you grinded in some way or another , im glad you had fun and never thought of it as grinding , but you did certain things over and over again to get the money/gems/items to have those builds, that is the essence of “grind”

so im not much for posting , i usually tend to roll with the punches when it comes to games and content patches and i usually trust what the devs to for the game , they obviously want it to do well and have lots of players

so what i wanted to say is that i an somewhat disappointed in this patch , i was expecting more,

the new dailies suck — we need more to chose from on any given day — why not give us 30+ to choose from not 5 /9 — only was interested in doing 3 of the choices i was given

guild missions huh? i have a cpl small guilds that i created and play in with my friends — i can never reach the needed influence to even start these missions , what are smaller guilds supposed to do? big guilds always want your representation or they kick you (especially now) i really need to join a big guild and rep them just for these missions?

one chest a day? another daily , might as well add it to daily list — im defiantly not a big farmer i prefer to run around and lvl my guys , collect mats, but when something with a chest pops up and i kill it , if it pops again while im doing stuff in same area i would like to be able to kill it again and get another chest, trust me im not someone who goes online to look at timers , and then makes the rotation , this game is getting harder and harder for casual play

karma consumables , everyone has a chance to buy them (especially when they are cheap karma ) so they should be allowed in wvw , its your choice to use them or not
dont punish people for taking advantage of knowledge they possess (i never even used them in wvw)

content , where is it ? the running back and forth on the road to pick up items , its got to get better than this. there was alot of hype around this patch was it all for naught?

dont worry im not the type of player to say this is bs — i quit !! i will play the game off and on as i usually do but i just wanted to let you know , that if you do read these forums, that i am definitely not happy as a player with this patch , and that at this point in the game (roughly 6 months in ) is a make or break point for mmos, and Anet you did not bring your A game

tldr — anet failed in many areas with this patch

Titles -- am i missing something ?

so please help me out here, am i missing something? , i have gotten 2 titles so far the new volunteer one and one called gladiator. now not being able to see your own name above your head in anyway i was curious as to what my new title looked like. so i made a new friend who also had some titles and we met up to get an idea of how it looked.

and lo and behold we discovered that your title is not shown under your name in anyway , that you actually have to click on the person to see the title , and then it is only visible in a dullish white , that is very hard to see.

so i am saying — what is the point? why even have your title active if no one can see it, i was under the impression that my new title would be under my name for all to see, like in other games (daoc etc..) all these great achievements and titles you can earn and yet no one knows

this seems like a simple fix to me
so why are these titles basically hidden? , and whats the point in even having them?
what am i missing?

For those who complain that this game lacks of endgame content.

The CoF Buff: My opinions

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

now we all know that cof was going to get nerfed , i even told my friend to start doing some runs before they nerf it , and i gave you guys a week before it happened. it happened in 4 days from when i said . this obviously brings cof back into line with the rest of the dungeons. any exp player should have seen it coming so you guys shouldnt really be whining about it.

with that being said other then one run of arah (dreadful) and one of the lvl 35 dungeon i forget the name (also bad exp) — cof was the only dungeon i did, and its because it didnt take you a ridiculous amount of time to do for basically no reward, i could do a cpl runs and get some tokens , 6 useless blues, and a little silver , and enjoy the game for 1-2 hours at night,

i have a lvl 80 engineer and at this point have nothing to do with him, i would wvw (but of course the que is equal to the 2 hours i get to play each night), i have 2 lvl 400 crafters, killed claw numerous times, and gotten most of the maps in orr , im sorry but i feel that the dungeons are a waste of my time (which i hold very valuable)

im not complaining about endgame, money, gear or anything , what i am saying as a hardcore casual player, whats the point of dungeons if players feel they are not being rewarded for their effort, i understand do them or dont do them its my choice. but pretty soon you are going to only have a few hardcore people doing them, and thats not how you sustain a game for years

my 2 cents

"items you are selling " -- help

so since the bltc has come up for good , it has been working relatively well for me , and i have been systematically posting for sale (on bltc) the gear i had stored on my alts. and i have been getting my money when it has sold no problem

the problem i am now seeing is that under the heading " items you are selling" in my transactions — i see a page of the most recent items i have listed for sale, but there is no way to see items i have listed earlier — i only get the one page (only about 12 items or so)

what am i missing? is there a page turn prompt somewhere? how do i access the items that would be on the second or third pages? i am sure i have about 25 or so items that i put up for sale

they are not in my pick up area , or in my bank/bags — and i believe them to still be for sale (cause i priced a cpl things very high , and when i searched for them there was that item for about the price i listed it for.)

is there a limit of things you can list to sell at one time? i hope i did not lose those items as there was some higher price stuff, not to mention listing fee

i also have no option to remove an item (other than the first 15 or so, on first page)
what if i didnt want to sell something now

is this just a tp glitch?

any help will be appreciated — thought i would ask here before i filed a support ticket

thanx
