Custom settings, but I had no crashing issues until recently.
When I upgraded by drivers, I went to the most recent version (332.21). I’ll try taking a step back and see if that helps.
I really wish Scarlet had been more of an Iago character: just mean for the sake of being mean. No “fall”, no excuse, no slow descent, and no real motive other than just being exceptionally bitter and grumpy and wanting to take it out on the rest of the world.
Maybe that’s less satisfying for some people, but I don’t think that every antagonist needs to be a sympathetic figure.
Bumping because I’m getting the same issues.
Have updated drivers, repaired GW2 client, run memory and disc scans, and am running normal CPU temps.
Crashes seem to happen at random — sometimes during big events and other times when I’m doing map completions by myself. Sometimes I’ll go for hours without a crash and other times it’ll crash every 15-20 minutes. The one thing it never does is crash when I’m not playing GW2.
Any suggestions for next things to check or possible solutions would be appreciated.
I think one point we’re all missing is how much we’re paying to play this game each month. Without the steady revenue other games are pulling in, Anet has less money to spend on development.
I would rather pay the $15 kittenING dollars a month than have temporary content and RNG.
I am sick of people using that as an excuse for this developer.
Using a F2P model was THEIR decision NOT mine.
GW1 did fine and I spent tons of money in their store.
GW2 is lacking the best things of GW1….namely all of them.
For the love of all that is Holy, would people please stop forcing this person to play this game he hates so much? Stop forcing him to log into GW2 and making him suffer like that!

I don’t know this person or anything about the issue.
I’m very pleased with my Nostromo and can’t imagine playing without it now.
Equip a cheap rifle, switch to kit, kill something, record damage numbers and average.
Equip expensive rifle, switch to kit, kill same something, record damage number and average.
second number > first number
Wasn’t this what they said it would do?
OP: It’s a game and you should really play it for fun. Give engineer a try and if you enjoy it, keep playing it.
ALL damage kits will do more damage…
No they won’t.
All this change means is that if you don’t have an exotic your damage will be nerfed.
You know this how? Just a general pessimism about life?
I’ve been experimenting with Sigil of Strength for the Might boost which ups the power and condition damage.
I mostly use it for the .5 falling damage anyway.
That’s almost essential for running with a group in WvW.
I use a rifle/grenade build in WvW. For zergs or sieges, you can stand in the middle/back and lob grenades — also to the top of walls to discourage people from standing too close too the edge. The Toolkit magnet can also pull careless people down.
There are other more tanky builds that will let you charge into the enemy zerg. I’ve not tried those out but the people posting them really like them.
I use a very similar build for PvE and WvW. The main difference is swapping 10 points of Alchemy for 10 points of Invention solely for the half falling damage trait. Useful not just for surviving the fall but it gives you an extra grenade attack when pouncing on someone below.
I’ve also been running with the Elixir Gun (for the toolbelt heal and AoE condition removal), but I’m going to give Elixir S a try this afternoon.
Do you have a link to the build on a site somewhere?

Thanks.
Logan is the Luke Skywalker of Tyria.
“But I was going to go into Rata Sum to pick up some power converters.”
or
“This one a long time have I watched. All his life has he looked away… to the horizon, to the Queen. Never his mind on where he was. Hmm? What he was doing. Hmph. Adventure. Heh. Excitement. Heh. A Guardian craves not these things.”
It would greatly improve the musical bell game if we had a metronome or click track that played through the entire song. Counting down at the beginning only helps the first couple of notes, after which all sense of tempo goes out the window and everyone tries to just get the buttons on time.
It would be a small change that would improve the minigame mightily.
Thanks.
Why should I care if you quit or not? It doesn’t bother me one way or the other.
If you want to quit, then farewell and God Speed to you on your journeys. Don’t think that anyone’s going to lose sleep over it.
I’m not raging. I simply take the opportunity to refresh my beverage when I’m downed because I know there’s essentially nothing I can do to save myself. The only real option is the Boobytrap skill, although it’s unusual to see it charge half-way.
December is supposed to provide a large number of balance features. I’ll keep my fingers crossed.
… but I’m thinking we need one of our downed skills to be “I give up already” so we could just die faster and get it over with. That way, we don’t have to waste so much time waiting for other people to finish us off.
Hopefully you can get it in the next patch so we don’t have to suffer for so long in the future.
