The New Dailies -- Feedback welcome

I am NOT in favor of the new dailies.

I enjoy doing what I like to do in GW, not what I am expected to do. IMO, dailies are a way to get players to log in and achieve something through how the individual player likes to play the game. Before, I could get my dailies in a dungeon, the story, or the open world without really thinking about the dailies – just through playing the game. Now it feels like the typical “get ten of those, get three of these” quests. It provides me with an adverse and negative reaction to dailies and makes me not care about the game in general.

The go to certain area dailies: I really don’t like having to go to a certain area to achieve a particular daily – this also makes a certain daily inaccessible for new players/characters.

Go to certain area events: It means I have to have map chat open to wait for called out events in an area, get the four events, then leave. It feels contrived and pointless. And I typically like to keep map chat off because well… it’s map chat.

Fractal daily: I am quite aware of fractals – I will get to them in my own time and on a day I prefer. I don’t need a daily to help me “stretch my wings.” I did fractals when they were first introduced, I have not cared to do them again yet.

I don’t like to play PvE or WvW, so while it may be my self-imposed limitation, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. However, as the poster above pointed out, not all people have limitations which are self-imposed. The dailies should be inclusive.

While they dailies may be optional, they should be used as a tool to get the most number of players into the game each day (more players playing = more gem store cash flow). Right now, I log in to get my bonus then play Dragon Age. This is a direct result of the new dailies. Before, I would have logged in to get my dailies, then through playing, talk to my guildies thus building community and creating reasons to stay and continue play and developing goals outside of the dailies. Now, I don’t care enough to play the dailies to get to those other goals.

gem store tools - one for each toon

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

I finally broke down and purchased gem store tools with the Halloween skins. While I am appreciative they are now account bound (and I would never have bought them otherwise), at $12.50 a pop ($37.50 for 3), I am thinking Anet needs to take this one step further. Make the tools available to all toons without having to log onto the toon who currently has them, place them in the bank, then log onto the toon that needs them. The purchased tools should be available to every toon without having to go through a time intensive and annoying process. It would be great if each toon could somehow have access to their own unique copy – maybe even wardrobe space for collector who love having multiple skins. As it stand right now, if someone asked if the gem store tools were worth it, I would answer that I probably wouldn’t buy them again and explain why.

Thanks!

killing teq with minimal lag on tarnished coast. At moment dragon was relieved of HP a huge lag spike occurred. then my pc emitted that ’you’ve pressed to many buttons’ audio error (fast rolling rr’s sound). then my pc crash dumped to bsod. First time ever in it’s short life. Rebooted itself and asked me to find the hard drive. Hard reboot and it seemed fine.

Love the new dailies sidebar!

THANK YOU for updating the otherwise cumbersome dailies sidebar. Clicking everytime I wanted to change my dailies was a tad annoying. I was so happy today when I logged on and found the dailies are auto updating themselves again! And they seem to change based on what I am doing. SO much better!!!

Adding thread start dates/times to the forum search or list display would really help us filter what might pertain to our situation and what doesn’t. I can’t log-in since the 2/21 update. But when searching the thread for any posts about my same problem it is difficult to know what pertains to the same situation and what is older unless you click through. Kinda time consuming.

come on ppl, show anet this matters – there can’t only be two of us that like to stealth play. The way its set up now it’s like the ninja pops in the room, says HI!!!, then “hides in shadows” in front of your face…. you know she’s still there in the room with you, not fooling anyone.

Repetition makes sound clips irritating

Try playing a mes with the random boon signet. I turned my voice sound off because it was so annoying. But then the personal story cut scenes are left without voice acting (which isn’t so bad considering I am super jealous of the amateur voice actors having been paid for this – how do I get into this line of work??) “Come on hit me, I’ll hit back.” “Might makes me Right.” If these only happened half the time I’d be grateful!

Invisible Login

Would LOVE to be able to Login as “invisible.” Currently, it is my understanding that as soon as we click “Login” even if we have not clicked “play” our friends are all told that we are “Online” and we show as greyed in the guild list. Then when we change to ‘invisible’ on the character load screen it states us as being offline. It seems pretty obvious that we are playing as invisible as this pattern repeats possibly defeating the purpose of the invisible function.

Remove Represent and multiple guilds

I prefer the multiple guilds option. In GW1, because I could only be a member of ONE guild I HAD to opt for my Family’s guild that my son made. I would have preferred to choose another guild, but family comes first, right?!! In GW2, I can primarily hang out with my chosen guild (I am a one guild kinda person. I join a guild for the social aspect. Pugs are fine for dungeons in GW2 even without vent) AND still be in my son’s guild. When he plays, I just switch. The multiple guild option has tremendously improved my gaming experience.

Would love to see guildies and/or friends list dots on the minimap (or selectable people) and /or area map. Often we are limited by the 5 party members in a group when there are typically 6-7 of us running around together. Party size of 8 would be nice for explorable areas.
