AngryJoe Interview - HoT Questions for Devs?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Hi Joe,
Please ask about Super Adventure Box on our behalf – mainly whether it will be returning anytime soon.
Thanks!
This is about the Infinite Continue Coin. About the reasonable expectation that accompanied it when it was sold – The reasonable expectation created by prior release schedules and by virtue of the ICC’s very existence (and price tag).
In the SAB “hub”, there were four doors. Two of these doors led to SAB worlds 1 & 2. By showing four doors, any reasonable player would assume that SAB worlds 3 & 4 were going to be added in the future.
Having four doors implied that there was future updates to come. I bought the Infinite Continue Coin with real money under this assumption, and honestly, I feel cheated.
Lag or Stuttering when Friends list open?

Hi! I just wanted to add that I have this issue too.
When I open the Friends window my game’s FPS drops severely until I close the window again.
I play on a desktop PC and sometimes a Laptop and it started happening to both of them around when the Wintersday events began (or maybe a bit before).
This would suggest (no evidence) that it is something in an update rather than a system issue.
I guess it’s not really a big deal unless you have the Friends window open a lot (while fighting?).
Yes. If a friend of mine is going to play this type of game (MMOG), I would recommend GW2 because I believe it is the best game of its type.
Very well written post! I also agree with your point of view.
Right now, though, I have given up on getting max stats – I refuse to farm Fractals over and over. Fractals is great, I’ve done it a few times now, but I’m not going to go there multiple times a month.
Since there is more ascended gear to come, I suggest that they finish the ascended armor/jewellery and make ascended the new maximum. It is too late to revert it now that a lot of players have some of it.
Also, it would be reasonable if there was another method of obtaining all the pieces (I know you can craft some already), as long as it’s not too ridiculous on crafting requirements.
Thanks for this thread everyone, each post I have read makes me happy that we are all on the same page.
It’s hard to choose one for someone else!
I can answer a couple of your points though.
a) every profession I have tried has been able to solo Veteran mobs.
c) all professions are both ranged and melee depending on the weapon you have equipped.
(d) and (e) I can’t really give any feedback on – I haven’t found any profession that seems either ‘underpowered’ or particularly gear dependant.
Enjoy playing GW2!
Hi! Like goodbugs, I was unable to find Tyrro, so I resorted to Google.
Google led me to this thread!
What Drevin said is largely correct, Tyrro is a Charr and he is east of the entrance to the new dungeon.
I attached pictures of the map location and of Tyrro below for anyone having trouble!
Enjoy the Lost Shores~!
Hi, I have been trying to get intoxicated (in-game!) with my friend for a while now.
We have consumed many alcoholic drinks both from the Trading Post and from the taverns in Lion’s Arch.
The only effect that we discovered was the screen becoming blurred and slightly tinted, on high graphics settings. Low graphics settings showed no effects.
On the wiki (I realise it is not an official source of information) it says that intoxication should interfere with your typing & cause your character to randomly burst out into emotes!
This is something that sounded really fun and we were wondering what the intended effect for intoxication should be, how much we should drink, etc.
Any information would be appreciated – thankyou in advance!
The server select on the character screen will tell you low vs med vs high vs full.
I was always under the impression that this column on the server list represented the amount of people who had that server as their home server, not how many people were actively playing.
Taking a guild for an example:
A guild has 500 members, which is the maximum.
25 guild members come online in the course of a day (5%).
This guild is still “full”, even though the majority of users did not come online.
This is how I assumed the server population worked as well.
We have no way of knowing how many players are actually active!
I personally haven’t seen many people around lately, but I have been in the starter areas, so I am guessing most people have moved on.
Hi everybody, I hope you are all having a lot of fun with Guild Wars 2 – I know I am!
Recently I have made it to Cursed Shore and I am finding it extremely difficult to complete the skill challenges. For example, there is one with a Champion (Gold) enemy that I cannot even come close to defeating. I have tried it around ten times, no-one else seems to be around (only bots have been around) to do it with me and I am stumped as to what I should do. I really want to finish the map!
I was wondering if anyone else has completed Cursed Shore and if you could give some tips to me. Did you do the skill challenges alone or in a group? Thankyou!
How can we report inappropriate Guild names?
in Account & Technical Support
Posted by: electricfate.3798
The built-in report option in this game very well made. Also, reports are all taken seriously and acted upon in a timely fashion. However, GW2 players have the option to name more than their characters. They can also name guilds.
During my time in GW2 I have encountered players who belong to guilds with inappropriate names. These names have included races, nationalities and intentionally misspelt profanities. Things like these not only have great potential to offend players but also detract from the environment of the game by introducing real-world issues (i.e. racism) into a place where they don’t need to be.
What action should we take when we come across one of these guilds?
Will “inapproriate guild name” be an option for reports in the future?
Thankyou for your time.
