any advice? i feel totally useless when i come up against an engi.
in case you haven’t noticed, blink can be very buggy and screw you over in sticky situations. one problem is teleporting to the max distance, but because of the uneven ground or stump in your way, you hardly move at all. another problem is in high stress situations when you need to port max distance away. i find that, for the most part, when i use blink in these situations, that i accidently go a little too far and cancel the spell. now, though the blink bug is an obvious fix, i have a theory on how to help with the second problem. keep the max distance, but make it so that if you scroll past that, it locks to the furthest place you can teleport. i think it would help make blink a much better ability.

I really like the order of whispers… youve gotta make your character really thin for it to look better (if its male that is). When you go ridiculously buff male with light armor… it honestly looks stupid.
You know, the problem with having the storyline branch out so much is the sheer cost of the voice acting. For each story mission there’s . . . I dunno, about two dozen voiced lines. Multiply that by as many as you would like to add, and if there’s a divergence where one mission might have several different characters in a spot count it separately for each one.
Now look up, and this could take a while, what voice actors charge for their work, especially ones like Felicia Day or Steve Blum.
This price tag is why voiced games tend to be rather narrow in options.
youre right…. they should just get stephen hawking to narrate everything!
I agree with this post, I see my story line as a way for quick xp and gear.
by “effectively” i basically meant make them more part of an elementalist… maybe even extend the duration or uses.
It would be so awesome if there were dyes that had maybe patterns or interesting visual effects. Maybe these dyes could be legendary dyes since most legendaries have their own unique visuals.
it would be nice if there was a build for elementalists to effectively use conjured weapons, and i dont mean situational. kind of like engineers with kits.
First of all, I did not mean instant apparition pocket mounts, i simply meant mounts. As I said before, maybe implementing a mount into the personal story of every character, it would add a lot to the character development of the game. This wouldnt mean a “mount hunt” system, it would be more like having a second character, which itself would be fairly unique to its master.
As i said before… this game has a lot to do with being showy. People buy gear just for looks, you can dye your gear what ever color you want, there are unnecessarily high graphic capabilities, there is town gear, there are companions, there are useless abilities that, for example, turn you into a ravenman. I do agree that mounts would serve little use, but it is ironic that a flashy game refuses to include flashy content.
yeah… i guess it could only happen in some alternate fantasy universe with dragons and wizards.
have you even… read this thread?
Yea! Another mount thread.
Mounts are prestige items, like legendary weapons. They’re the sexy sports car of a fantasy game world.
The only useful thing they do is speed travel. We have frelling Asura Waypoints that can port us across the game world for loose change.
The only use for mounts in this game is to brag how yours is bigger or prettier or cooler than someone else. Do we really need virtual ostentatious?
this is the second time in 3 days ive been suspended for the same reason. at first my thief was named kitten palace dance, which is offensive to overprotective parents, but in context was referring to a boning knife and not an erect kitten. I understand why they made me change it, and it took half a day for me to get back on (youre suspended until they change your name which can take up to 72 hours). The second time I was suspended was totally unnecessary and annoying. I renamed the thief to spanking monkey, which is no vulgar in any sense and it has been 2 days since they suspended my account. while censorship is unnecessary (and i am personally completely against censorship), I agree that suspension is not a logical penalty.
well… heres your daily mount thread. nothing relevant came up when i searched.
i didnt find any other threads about this…. excluding a few which hardly mentioned the topic.
they should have just made three professions- scholar, adventurer, soldier- and allowed those to branch off through a more advanced trait system into the professions as we know now and more. I think starting as nobody and building your character from scratch would add so much. Of course this would never happen this late in the game, so I would say that a world of warcraft deathknight would be a good idea for a ninth profession. Kind of like a necromancer, but more demonic or even something from the shadows.
I think if enough people ask for it, they might deliver. Would be a great way to attract more players.
Its not the necessity, in fact, there are countless unnecessary aspects to this game. My point is that mounts help develop characters, they could even be earned through personal story lines.
Even ignoring how unnecessary they are, there would be a ton of issues with them and I completely understand why the developers do not wish for us to have them (I also agree with those reasons). So, as they say, if wishes were horses..then I guess you would have all the mounts you need…

I see… it all makes sense now.
just think… you could be travelling tyria on a savage land dragon! would that be kick kitten
the only thing that is keeping me from my ele is the inability to use greatswords and bows… i think they have the coolest skins in the game! plus, after 30 levels with a character, I really get bored with its abilities. Diablo 3, as kittenty as it turned out, had it going with the total custom skill layout. Gw2 did a good job with unique weapon abilities, but I just want more variation in the way I play. greatsword would give me that variation… and power.
I know that one of the reasons why I was so hooked on world of warcraft was because of the mounts. this is the case not because of travel efficiency, but the sheer awesomeness of riding mammoths, flying carpets, mechanical chickens, or even just horses. To me, Mounts really add to the development of the player and characters relationship(as corny and weird as that sounds) so I think that they would make this game so much more cooler. please, share opinions on this subject!
ive been waiting an entire day for them to respond to why I am banned…
