Can’t speak for all EU servers, but was definitely bugged on Aurora Glade last night.
Trogdor I had a very similar experience with falling off a cliff while trying to complete a quest in Norn territories…the minotaurs I landed on didn’t seem inclined to be too helpful
Jewels are always good
Hi Garambola,
I’m in a similar situation to yourself, would like to complete the storyline but I’m a total stranger to dungeon running. Have a few friends in the game but we’re rarely on at the same time.
I’m on the Aurora Glade EU server and if you’re still looking for party members next week I’d be happy to tag along and try my best not to die repeatedly
(Not free this weekend due to work commitments)
I was in the vicinity of the Molten Alliance thingy in the Wayfarer Foothills as I was thinking about giving it a go having done the Razing stories.
Slightly depressing to read the amount of posts in the Map chat window saying things like ‘LFG for MA… NO Noobs’ or ‘Only folks who can dodge wanted’ so didn’t bother in end. Then got a ‘LOL…noob’ comment this afternoon while being silly enough to revive a fallen Seraph soldier near Shaemoor Garrison
Any kindly souls on the Aurora Glade server or other EU servers who wouldn’t mind a dungeon newbie tagging along? In the meantime I shall have a look at GW2LFG as DEKeyz mentioned above
EDIT: That all sounded a bit whiny, but meant to sympathise with Willowpaw’s experience

Nam and GreenNekoHaunt, invites sent. Representation is optional, but guild chat can be pretty hilarious. See you around Tyria!
Bloke, I’m not having any problems right now, but the game is known to be super-buggy on patch days.
Yeah, I’m guessing it’s that. Hadn’t twigged it was patch day till I saw the messages about new build flashing up in middle of a story mission.
Anyone else having any problems with Guilds today on GW2? When I open my guilds tab, I’m apparently the only member of both Guilds I have membership of.
Confuzzled
Thanks Vayne
Wasn’t sure if it meant some amazing keyboard control I hadn’t figured out yet
Sorry to sound like a total nugget Mala, but when you say ‘calling out’ Dynamic events do you mean just putting something in the map chat window or something else?
I’m a relative newcomer to the world of MMOs and despite having had GW2 since release I only really got into playing it recently.
My main character is also a warrior and I would have to say that I have found some of the Personal Story quests incredibly difficult if you go at them at just the suggested level. My advice, ignore the personal quests for a while, tool around levelling up completing mapzone quests etc till you’re a good 5 levels above then give them a try.
Or if you have any friends on the same server, drag them along to soak up some bullets for you After all what are friends for..
When you buy your next Training Manual your trait points will be reset, but I think you can reset them at any point by just talking to the same trainers you buy the manuals from and paying a fee (5 coppers per trait point or thereabouts)
I’m a bit like you…all the shorthand is a bit of mystery. I’d hazard a guess that D/D might be dual daggers and D/P dual pistols though.
Just to check, did you and your friends all sign up to the same server?
Don’t want you making the same mistake myself and a couple of friends made in not checking which server we were all joining during character creation
This might be a numbnuts question and sorry for the double post, but when looking at the Guild roster is there a way to tell which members are on the same server as yourself?
I noticed Tarnished Coast seemed to feature heavily in our members location, but wasn’t sure if that was their server or just the part of the map they were running around being awesome on.
Thanks for the welcome and Guild invite accepted
Hopefully you don’t regret my representation too much considering how many times I got decked trying to finish some undead Broodmother thingy in the Celadon Forest earlier today
Name: fatbaldbloke.3275 (aka Mark on Teamspeak or Skype or whatever, though I will answer to fatbaldbloke, fat, bald or bloke or even just a loud ‘Oi you!’)
Main Character: Marak Khardrueth
Current Server: Aurora Glade (Based in UK)
Interested Activities: Socialising, PvE, might be tempted into PvP, Dungeons, WvW and RP with patient and highly forgiving allies
Active: Play mainly late evenings, work every weekend so sometimes on during the day Mondays & Tuesdays
Additional Comments: Professional Scotsman and sometime librarian with a god awful ingame sense of direction and total lack of killer skills. Not shy, but I won’t talk your ear off
Are you willing to participate in Operation: UNION’S project, Y/N?: I reckon you could twist my arm
Just a little more about myself, I only got into gaming in my 30s and GW2 is the first MMO that I’ve been persuaded to try. I actually got it when it first came out and played pretty regularly for a couple of months but then got distracted by other games and the other folks who’d persuaded me to try it also drifted away.
A few other folks I know were tempted to try it out with this free weekend and I logged on to meet up with them so got the taste to play some more. I don’t know how many of them will be continuing after the free trial ends so took to the forums to look for like minded souls and found this thread which definitely piqued my interest.
Like I said I got into games pretty late and this is my first MMO so I’m pretty poor at playing it to be honest. I’ve avoided dungeons, raids, PvP and WvW so far as I’m not really of a mind to be berated by someone for not being Tanky or drawing enough aggro or not being permanently buffed or squeezing the absolute max out of my character build.
I’m playing a Warrior and my style so far is to run in and either shoot things or hit them in the face till they fall down…and then hit them a bit more to be safe. Nothing complicated
I’m playing this game for fun, I don’t particularly care if I never reach level 80 with my character or getting absolute completion on every zone, I’m not too bothered what items or weapons I’m carrying. I will however happily tool around the same maps over and over, helping folks finish their quests or just exploring randomly. I tend not to be too sociable via the chat window…but that’s because I’m a lousy typist and way too slow at it to risk not paying attention to the scary monsters on screen
Also just to give fair warning, if we end up chatting via Teamspeak or skype I can get a teensy weensy bit sweary, especially in combat…..usually when I end up falling off a cliff or facing totally the wrong way.
Anyway, apologies for the waffly first post but look forward to perhaps meeting some of you wandering the highways and byways of Tyria.
