I prepurchased HoT a few days ago, and am a veteran player, but have not received my extra character slot yet. When am I supposed to receive it? I was hoping to create my Revenant today but all my slots are full.
Yeah, I figured. Anyway to prevent the message from showing up when I open the client, since I can’t actually do it?
When I try to secure my account with a phone number I get a message saying
“We were unable to send a verification code to this phone number. Please try another phone number.”
I’m assuming this is because it’s VOIP number. Some services won’t accept VOIP numbers, while others do. I’m not sure why considering it can receive and send both sms and voice.
Is there a way to either get this set up with my number or stop getting the “Secure your account with SMS” message when starting the client?
Thanks
I came to report the same thing when I saw this thread.
For me it’s sometimes just a a delay(around 1/2 to 1+ seconds) sometimes its up to around five seconds where I can’t do anything. I have never had it so bad that I had to emote or switch weapons to get out, but it is really frustrating.
The thing is it’s never happened to me before. It just started over the past few days.
In the future, if we release further Guild Wars 2 expansions, we plan to offer all of the prior expansions, the core game, and the latest expansion for one single purchase price.
That’s interesting. So they’re basically saying that once a new expansion is released everything before that expansion is free. What you’re paying for is the new content.
That business model probably has something to do with why they’re offering free accounts now.
Thanks for the info
I just want to make sure I’m not missing it. Is there a way to buy an upgrade from a core account to a HoT account without paying the full price that someone who hasn’t already purchased the previous release would pay?
It would make sense since if you’ve purchased the previous release you’ve already paid for a large portion of content that someone without an existing account hasn’t paid for yet.
Either way I’ll end up upgrading. I just want to make sure I’m not paying extra.
I’ve been running into this issue occasionally for the past week or so.
I’ll be playing GW2 and suddenly I will lose game audio, except for some white noise. When this happens if I quit the game it will freeze. This makes the rest of my computer slow and makes certain sections of the OS unusable(I’m assuming this is due the load gw2.exe is putting on the cpu and memory). For instance I cannot force quit GW2 through the task manager. Instead I have to run cmd as administaror then run the command “taskkill /f /im Gw2.exe”.
Windows 8.1 & Windows 10 (Issue started before I upgraded to Windows 10 and has continued since then)
pTDevils is an active streamer. Looks like mesmer mostly, but other classes too. Watchin him stream mesmer sPvP right now.
Edit: His bio says Ele is main class, but looks like he has been playin mesmer a lot lately.
I was using full rune of centaur and mantra mastery to get perma-swiftness when I was wvw zerging but I recently switched to a gs/s build for zerg and trying to learn a shatter build for roaming/group.
Since I lost the centaur runes I’m finding that I can’t keep up with groups. I’m usually one of the last to show up to a fight and sometimes miss out on caps. In zergs at least I can still rely on other peoples swiftness.
Is there something I can do to speed up a bit without losing to much of the build’s stats? Or should I just go back to centaur runes?
What is the most efficient way to gain some speed without losing out on stats too much?
I was recently zerging in EB and the commander said to join the TS channel for EB. I don’t know a lot about teamspeak. So far I’ve only joined channels by using a server address.
How do I join/find a channel if I don’t know the server address?
I tried just searching for gw2 in the server list but that didn’t return anything useful.
Starting yesterday my game has started crashing randomly throughout the day. It crashed six times yesterday over about four hours and twice today over about one hour.
The screen goes black but I can still hear game noises and move my mouse around. Also in order to restart the game I have to force quite with task manager(windows).
Here is the error I get:
The game client was unable to connect to the log-in server. Please restart your client and try again. If the problem persists, contact customer support for assistance at http://support.guildwars2.com. (code=58:11:5:535:101)

I don’t think there’s really a need for more races. Although I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t be excited if a new race was released.
I do think the human(especially male) customization would really benefit from some more face/hair/facial hair options. Most of the human facial hair options are just variants of a goatee or 5-o’clock shadow.
I am also getting this error. It first happened when trying to travel to a waypoint, now I get it at the character select screen when I click “play”.

After a few minutes I was able to play again. Not sure what that was about.

Alright, to sum up for anyone else who’s looking for info on this:
Titles are attached to achievements(in most cases anyways). In order to check your progress you need to go to your achievements panel(H > Achievements) then find the achievement for that title(You can search for the achievement name, not the title). Once you have found the achievement you can just hover over it to find your progress.
Note: Some achievements have multiple tiers. You must complete all tiers in order to gain the title.
To find out what achievement rewards the title you are looking for you can search for the title in the wiki by either going to wiki.guildwars2.com and using the search bar or using /wiki while in game(i.e. “/wiki Fashion Collector”).
Have you looked here:
Yes, that’s the page I referenced in my last post. It does not list the achievements required to gain the title.
Even if the thing you’re searching for doesn’t have it’s own page it will show you the search results which will probably include a page that answers your question.
Thanks, I’ll try that.
Do you happen to know which page shows this? The titles page is what I was going off of and it only tells you the achievement on one of the titles(Combat Healer).
Oh I see. The title you get from the achievement is different than the the name of the achievement itself. So you need to know the name of the achievement instead of the name of the title.
And there’s no way to search for a title as far as I can tell.
I did that, but it’s not listed in fashion. Out of the few I’ve tried to find by searching the achievements panel I’ve only find one.
I’m not sure what you mean. As an example if I wanted to see my progress for the title “Fashion Collector” where would I go? I don’t see it anywhere in the achievements panel.
Hey everyone. Is there a way to check your progress for a specific title?
Is there a setting somewhere that allows you to reduce the auto-play countdown time? I’d like it to just start instantly after the log in is successful.
It’s only 4 seconds, but still…

nmad, I wish I hadn’t just bought 6 then. Thanks for the help.
If I have 6 of a major rune(4 bonuses) will the first two bonuses be doubled or will the two extra runes just be a waste?

I’m trying to figure out if it’s possible to turn NPC speach off in the chat box. Does anyone know how I can do this?
It looks like the overwolf app just allows you to have a spotify player overlay in-game. I’m looking for a way to replace the game music with spotify playlists. So have a playlist that plays instead of the game ambient music, battle music, etc…
I just use my fn keys to control my spotify music while in-game so an overlay app wouldn’t add that much. Thanks for the suggestion though.

I’m pretty sure this is impossible but I thought I’d ask just to be sure.
I know you can create custom playlists to replace the in-game music using media files(mp3, flac, ogg, etc) and/or playlist files(m3u, msx, etc) but is there a way to use a spotify playlist?
I’d love to be able to use custom music in-game but all my music, with the exception of a few albums that aren’t available on spotify, is on spotify.
Also, I know you can just play spotify in the background while playing, which is what I currently do.
